    That just threw out all of the load & working lbs. Your D rings are only as strong as the plywood on your floor. Mont those to the frame work of your trailer.

    I enjoy your videos. Thanks for creating them. I may have missed this; however, is there a way to install the rails aling the side without removing the plywood? Or would small D-rings work better? Thanks in advance.

    • @DCCargoMall
      @DCCargoMall Год назад

      Hi, most trailers do not have areas of raised plywood. If your trailer does have raised plywood then D rings can be a good option for tie downs. However, the E-Track system is widely versatile and would be a great option. Although it would require the extra step of removing the raised plywood it is totally worth its while!

    I have been using this style of lever binder almost daily for over a decade now. They work great, never wear out, and give you that satisfying snap when you tighten them. I have always known that when releasing them, you have to make very sure you’re clear of the handle as it has extreme force behind it and can injure or even kill you when it unsnaps. Today I got complaisant while unchaining a machine and accidentally left my leg in the way of the handle. When it came around, it hit me directly in the side of the knee, tearing my LCL, MCL, and left a bloody patch of crushed skin about the size of a silver dollar. My knee is twice the size of the other and I can’t walk. Like I said, I’ve been using these binders without issue for over 10 years. If I could leave you with one piece of advice, it would be to hang ‘em up and buy a set of ratchet binders or safety binders. The juice is just not worth the squeeze with these things. One mistake can leave you with a serious injury, give you a set of summer teeth, or worse.

    • @max-zv7sf
      @max-zv7sf 2 года назад

      Sorry to hear about your injury, man, I hope you get better soon. These things are useful and usually priced right, but much like chainsaws, if they don't make your skin crawl, you should never use them.

      My father is a heavy duty tow operator. just last month while pulling up some equipment, he had a heavy duty binder shoot up and hit him in the face. broke his cheek bone and cut straight through his lower cheek, Lost 2 quarts of blood too. he’s lucky to be alive. I’ve got major respect for anyone that does this kinda work on the daily. hope you heal well, my dads definitely still hurting like crazy.

    • @dccargo

      Cam buckle straps are easier and faster - just pull 'em tight! - and are better for lighter, more fragile cargo. Heavy-duty items would do better with ratchet straps.
