Hatch River Expeditions has been rafting the Grand Canyon since 1934. We are the ORIGINAL whitewater rafting company, continuously owned and operated by the Hatch family.
What to expect on the hike to the Patio from Deer Creek in the Grand Canyon
Here is what to expect on the hike up from Deer Creek to the patio.

You will cross the creek once after you get off the boat so it is best to keep you water shoes on then change into your hiking shoes after that initial river crossing.

This hike is just over a half mile each way and you will gain about 400 feet elevation on the way up. There is little to no shade along the way so be sure to wet yourself down in the river before you leave and bring at least two liters of water.

You will ascend a switchbacking trail with lots of rock steps climbing up the side of the canyon. You will climb all of the elevation gain on the first half of the hike.

Then you will get to a beautiful overlook...

Yes - bring a sleep mask on river trips if the moon will be out!
The moon shouldn't even be there, literally, and its isotopes are identical to Earth's. Many legends talk about a time when it wasn't there. Also other legends speak of a woman who's up there keeping earth safe. And I could be wrong but I think the bible says something about the moon raising up from earths surface. But others hypothesize that it came from a moon of Jupiter or Saturn and it smashed into Earth creating the Pacific. I didnt write it I just read it.

Just back yesterday from Colorado river with Hatch. Dan, Matt, and Cowboy Dave were our guides. Salt of the earth awesome crew .,.....the best!!!

As a long range camper you are female so you get off easy lol xd .we had a kitchen and camp maker who took the plunge of shame for this in the chilly trout river he is now are friend and permanent camp maker
