Murder by Decree Suite
Просмотров 3,4 тыс.8 лет назад
Have always been a huge Holmes fan. And a natural curiosity concerning the ripper case. So when the two were combined it was just natural that I'd be interested in the film. This is one of two films featuring Holmes battling the Ripper. Film scores is a great passion of mine so here is Murder by Decree Suite
1Sweeney 2 1978

Second scene fro the Sweeney 2. A laugh a minute. The rubber recycle film/Henry Mancini piece. These scenes must have been so natural. I do not own this. I am not trying to breach copyright. This is a tiny portion of the entire film.

Here's the opening scene to the best of both Sweeney films. I do not own this. I am not trying to breach copyright. This is a tiny portion of the entire film.
We’re are you from
still a great film - although a tiny bit dated by ever moving standards, a classic nevertheless - great music score also
Jesus
I’m just looking at the numbers of comments here compared to other sites , there’s a lot of unhappy people out there with opinions which the Government should take note of .
David hemmings character was jack the rippers final victim
So bloody funny how Hicks is just like Nicola Sturgeon, holed up with Gorran and all his nazi memorabilia in Bute House.
Ruislip manor looks good on the big screen 😅😅😅
It's Roehampton
You uploaded the same clip as me,10/10 for taste.
I was the little girl running up and down with the dog. Got to sit on James Masons lap
That's a pretty cool memory to have Angie. Wow.
I absolutely adore this movie. I have it on DVD. However did you get this score?
Nope. Hard to find. There's plenty of extracts on RUclips. I love that violin piece at tge end
Great film
Think she turned up in more than one episode of the sweeney
One of my favourite films. Atmospheric. Brilliant cast and the theme music adds to the sinister film narrative. Genius.
Lo mejor que he visto de los demas
Fantastic film, music, wish it was available to buy or download
Guv ...it's a blag
Awful film. A Eustless Films Production.
Why did you watch it then, sunbeam?
You were so scared you wanted your mamma after watching it I bet
Nice opening scene that builds up to a robbery that isn’t shown! It kinda sums up this misfiring film which has pointless and dull subplots which seem to be substituted for action set pieces with the armed robbers. There is a reason this film is almost forgotten!
Such a haunting piece but I was unable to find its title. Plummer nailed Holmes as Rathbone never did and I liked Plummer partnered with James Mason.
The piece is a Scottish ballad called "Farewell to Stirling"
best ripper film by a million miles!!!!|Forget all the modern hollywood crap watch this, they wont get close!!!!Brilliant classy Film.
Truly was. 👍
Beautiful score...so sad now that we have lost Christopher...😿
Good bye dear Christopher Plummer, now you are with your dear Watson....Sir James Mason ❤️❤️❤️❤️RIP to you both gentlemen! Thx for the very best Sherlock Holmes from 1979! 🇩🇰❤️❤️❤️ Great versions of Holmes and Watson from 221b Baker Street of London in 1888.
RIP to the great Christopher Plummer.
Sweeney 2 fantastic memories of going to see this upon its cinema release in April 1978, great film and just great days, the sweeney and the seventies, better days long gone but such much better than the times we now live in.
OMG! That lady is so hot!, and I adore ladies with short hair.
And every single part of it has been machined by hand
Slag
What!!? That was just starting to get interesting.
That's why I loved the Sweeney, for the humour along with the drama.
Im currently watching the whole box sets of the sweeney , Regan pilot movie and Sweeney 1 / 2 movies ..... Brilliant to watch iconic 70s tv and brilliant casting Actors John Thaw ( Rip ) and Dennis waterman.
am i missing something here? this is only the first 90 seconds of the film???
You're missing the next 90 minutes. Alas, any attempt to show too much means the copyright heavy mob will be down on you with a load of verbals. That's RUclips for you.
You aren’t missing much!
Wake up you slag!
I was reading how this score became part of the Parry music library. I was wondering why there were no sound effects and this was not just a mutilation edit extracted from the DVD. Thank you so much for putting this suite together. Is there any other music from the library that Zaza and Zittner composed?
Love this film
I never thought the Kingston Bypass could be so exciting
I SPY a Citroen Dyane, Vauxhall Chevette, other mediocrities, Sick green Honda Civic, Rozzer's Bedfords: nothing of any consequence
A stray Sherpa; a brown Marina
7 Cortinas, all between mk 1 to mk 4
You missed the pink Reliant!
@@hooper7735 Schoolboy error :) Also missed the white Chrysler Alpine turning off into Putney Vale crem
or was it the KLG Spark Plug Factory, the one with the Art Deco clocktower? Always a landmark on the Kingston Bypass when I was returning from chilly bleak Geordieland as a child; a sign that green buses, warmer rain, endless pebble-dashed semis and home were just around the corner, once Tolworth Tower was passed...
Fucking love this movie. So underrated
Definitely. Great atmosphere. Combining the two. Im a Holmes fan anyway, but love the Ripper gendre
Awesome flick, my favorite Holmes and Watson!
New squad car gov? Haha!
What - Gorran's having an affair withis car
Brilliant Film
Wheres rest of the film😳
Hard to get hold of. I have a copy though theres no dvd or bluray of it
Thanks I have them now
@Christopher Christos cheers. I have them now
Can you share🥴
I've always loved the score for these ending credits...thanks for posting...
Yes. Superb music.
The piece is a Scottish ballad called"Farewell to Stirling"
John Thaw Manchester legend
The sweeney at its best! The flying squad dealt with armed robbery which this film depicts. In the tv series they got mixed up with all sorts of unlikely scenarios. For me this was the quintessential Sweeney.
Great series, I was working in London as a young man when they were making it. I remember the real criminals knocked off a truckload of ties (4 different patterns), and John Thaw appeared wearing one in an episode a few weeks later.
Remember going to watch it at the cinema way way back in 1978!loved it then and still do, the brilliant John thaw and Dennis waterman, and yes every bloke want to give her one over the bonnet of the car. ☺️
Stuart Webster I love the style of it that the first film didn't have. Score's smashing but hard to get hold of. Jokes come thick and fast
You can purchase the sweeney and sweeney 2 on a double disc dvd on amazon, great memories of 1978 sweeney 2 was a big hit at its time of release in April 78 happy days if only i could turn back the clock to been 18 again
Film, yes, but not the music score by Tony Hatch. Which is a shame really, when most scores from films that were scarce are on the market now even the classics
Elise Ord you can download the music from sweeney 2 it's available.
Stuart Webster i've searched for it for years and still can't find it. I know a rendition of the music was an 45 single but not the original soundtrack, just a redo for the music market back then. I want that closing piece in the film and yoh remembr tbe scene when shirley hicks takes the public transport across london near the finale, that great piece too.
meh......no chest
Slag!
Totally completely iconic coolness❤️❤️
That Pink Reliant! HaHa! Brilliant!!! :-)
They trundled that one through as a dare :)
Strong opening, cool.
