I think you are right about there not being true competitors or competition. Maybe the Santa Cruz is the only other true competitor, but the SC has no chance in a head to head imo.

Just stumbled on 2 more cool things about my Lariat. If you put your lights on auto, they will flash on the high beams automatically when needed on a dark two lane road, and click them off if there is an approaching car or even a string of bright street lights! They come back on as soon as the car passes or you pass the street lights. Today I was fooling with the SOUND settings. There is a surround sound feature. I turned it on while a favorite song was playing WHOA!!! AMAZING.

I just ended traded my bronco sport for a Maverick XL with the Ecoboost. Went in for an oil change and they had one new and priced right. Very happy with it so far.

It all sounds great but they are still made in mexico 😅

Here that in 2024 it won't be a good bargain as it will be 10 thousand dollars Over Priced .

got a 23 XLT. 200 miles. digging it so far

I ordered a 2022 xlt, lux, copilot 360, now it has turned to a 2024. Build date is this October. While it was on order my cars transmission went out so I bought a 23 lariat, awd, lux, copilot 360, eccobost. Now have 15000 miles averaging 27 mpg.

The Hyundai Santa Cruz is the direct competitor to the Ford Maverick. Ford was wise to come out with a Hybrid model and many were expecting Hyundai to release a Hybrid model for 2023 but it never materialized. Which is why the Maverick has become really popular since then. The Santa Cruz has many great features but was not as well thought out as the Maverick, and starting price is far more.

How long did it take you to receive your Maverick after the production date?

I've had my Lariat for a week now. Love it I'm getting 42 mpg love everything about it!

I figured out why there is such a shortage of MAVERICKS. A few months after intro, FORD reported they were STUNNED at how popular their new mini truck was. They had no idea. ALSO, the article stated FORD was also was surprised at the purchasing group. Most Mavericks were being bought by BUSINESSES. Again, FORD was greatly surprised the business sector had a use for a mini truck, but the sales totals do not lie. Hell, my little coastal town has 2. Our little county has 3. And I just learned UHAUL has a bunch. Not every location has them but they are out there. So commercial customers are snapping them up and we consumers are having to wait,. My brother in law has been waiting a YEAR & was just informed it will arrive as a 2024. maybe. Long wait still tho. Be patient Ford told him. I'm going to rent one from Uhaul as no dealerships have any. !

i happened to find a Used 2022 Maverick XL with only 24k miles. Its a decent truck.

decent truck, I just still can't believe people are ordering these with dealer markups and unknown reliability, just buy used! that being said, I much prefer a small truck with small capability over a "mini full-size" truck with a teched-out, dual-turbo, gasket/coolant line laden, delicate powertrain

I order a Maverick July 20th 2021. It wasn't a hy-brid. I wanted awd FX-4. I love it. I just wish I would have gotten the Cautus Grey color... It's hard to imagine colors when you have never seen them. I opted for Oxford White with Lariat. It was 32k out the door... no dealer mark ups. I'm getting 23mpg city and hy-waya? Weird Huh? But I have hauled surprisingly alot of stuff in this Mav. Plus this truck is pretty quiet.... No complaints at ALL.

I have never understood now “aggressive” became a good thing. Used aggressively (or carelessly) these things can kill or maim their drivers, their drivers’ family members, and other road users. I say this as a driver of a truck about 2x this size.

Competition is coming…Toyota, Nissan, Dodge, Subaru,..etc. They need to keep the price affordable, the performance and mileage beneficial, the look appealing. Ford has been jacking prices up to unreasonable levels on many of their products….they need to be careful.

The hybrids are now up charged with the Ecoboost being the base. The hybrid right now doesn’t make sense as they are behind still on fulfilling the 2023 orders and the additional charge for the 2024 model. I have a 2022 XLT Ecoboost with all the packages & am averaging around 30 MPG overall.

CVT for truck transmission, No Bueno.

The disappointment to me is the XL and XLT do not have sirius satellite radio, that's all I listen too. I believe the Lariat does but way more expensive.
