Why would anyone want to be a teacher nowadays?

In my 10th year of teaching, I got extremely sick 3 times including a fairly severe UTI (I'm a guy-rare). In the past 8 years since I quit, nothing more than the sniffles. It was killing me 😢

Q Children are by law Forced to attend school until age 18. Parents will be in JAIL if kids aren't in school or truant. I don't think, forcing Parents and kids to go to school until age 18 is a good thing. Do I believe its a good thing to learn and be taught 🤔? Absolutely 💯. But you can learn outside schools. Q

Those countries that rate the highest in the world in education all value and admire teachers and the teaching profession!!!!! Teaching is at or near the top of desired careers with far more applicants than jobs available!!!! In America, too many parents despise and disrespect teachers!!!!! Based on how we treat and pay teachers, America doesn’t deserve good teachers!!!!! If we, as a society, want good teachers for our children and grandchildren, then we need to start deserving them by treating and paying them better!!!!! But in a country that just elected Trump again, none of this is a surprise!!!! 😖

Omg yes, if u even bring up a legitimate complaint that warrants intervention from the administration, they’ll still make u feel like it’s all your fault. That’s why I quit. But going to get back into it somewhere else when I move.

If your gym has a massage chair and a hydromassage bed, take full advantage of it. If not, invest in a TheraGun hand-held massager (around $50 - $70), use it after taking a hot 🚿, slap some odorless muscle rub on, get dressed for the 🌌 and take a good relaxing 💤. It works wonders. Glad I left teaching. No accountability, no support, too many behavioral problems, admin working against you, not with you. I would take peace over that any day.

I actually applaud the teachers who are quitting. The only way admins and parents will get the message that there is a problem, and they are THE major part of the problem, is if teachers quit. Eventually, they will not have teachers to be the scapegoats anymore. Finally, they will have to look in the mirror. Parents DO YOUR JOB, and admins, the vast majority of you are feckless cowards who will throw your own mother under the bus to keep from having to take any accountability for the mess that is modern education. Teachers seem to not be taking it anymore, and good for them. You think they are all so bad at their jobs, okay, you teach your children then. Good luck because you're going to need it.

I experienced this same phenomenon in college; A FOUR YEAR INSTITUTION !!! Nowadays, you have kids raising kids; Grandparents, in their 30’s - probably younger. America’s imploding, because most people are stuck in “la la land”, and most people are oblivious to the lunacy, and complete buffoonery of the political industrial complex. It’s obvious America’s imploding, when the American government, gives a standing ovation, to Israel’s genocidal war criminal PM Benjamin Netanyahu. PERIOD.

Such an awesome & inspiring video! 🎉 This is my 3rd year of teaching and I really am at the end of my rope with this profession. I’ve gotten to the point where the breaks and summers off are not even sufficient enough for me to recover mentally & physically. As i enter into this Christmas break, I am going to start aggressively looking for alternative careers for next school year…possibly HR or Project Management.
