More brilliant information video loved it. All about the automotive industry ❤❤we need more great videos like this 👍 DISCERNING,Changing the industry Podcast Please interview Cuba Rodriguez Cuba's Automotive Questions time Why only 3% per cent female techs in the automotive industry Why are Techs leaving the automotive industry Questions no one went to answer 😕 😒 🙄 😔 😪 😐 😕 From Nick Ayivor from London England UK 🇬🇧 ⏰️ 07:59AM Good Morning 🙏 🌧 🌦 🌂 ⛈️ ☔️ 🌩 🌧
This podcast is underrated. I really enjoy it and find it quite enlightening. They're are huge problems in my industry. I've had seven apprentices, and none of them came out of school even close to ready for what they were going to face in the industry. I look at trade-ins and cars from auction all day long and I can honestly say most shops don't know how to balance a tire.
audio is bugged on this video
Time stamp?
Oh, at the end. Yeah. The video and audio desynced. Dude's internet was boo boo. 😂
Pretend it's a badly dubbed foreign movie.
It is a sad state of our industry that many shops do try and hire "mechanics" at $17 or $18 an hour, which is what I made in about 1995. These are the ones working on cars when you see a video saying, "Another shop couldn't fix this _______!"
glad i found you guys, been bindge watching all the podcasts
Nice! Welcome!!
Nice video
No no no ma’am! If you provide the part if we allow that, then you are getting full boat labor pricing.
miss these old podcasts.
What do you miss most about them?
$1,800 for testing hours-and batteries? Consider this, today the cover-charge for an emergency room visit is $1,800, yet nobody screams.
had a co worker order a used electric rack for a ram. sold it to a shop for $1400 as refurbished….. asked me how we going to make this refurbished….. no. just no. i’m stuck with a used rack now. maybe 2 weeks ago this happened.
Used OEM junkyard parts are gold when theyre from Toyota/Lexus , Honda/Acura, Mazda. They are worth their weight in gold. Because OEM standard is built better for these manufacturers. I wouldnt trust any other manufacturer. If youre talking about domestic, yeah, youd want brand new OEM. OEM will usually outlast aftermarket (jobber) shit
I have never heard of a reconditioned wheel failing.

This is a weird title for this type of video. Sounded like a venting video.
I gave very specific advice. You're welcome.
top notch edit
The editor is faaaking skilled AF. This is just the tip of what he can do. Stay tuned for a lot more.
12 cars a day for 2 techs, shoot I am the only tech here and some days there are 10-15 cars on the schedule a day for multiple days in a row. I cant get that many done in a day but its what gets scheduled
I think I'd back that down a touch!
A few problems in this video: 1-Brandon barely, barely can articulate his words compared to his TikTok videos where he is talking cohesive. 2-There was nothing online proving Corey ordered those pistons or anything else. All the situation was based just on words and i am sorry but when you make such claims about the shop you come in with proof, written proof. None of that presented to the public. 3- Customer should have been notified but not offered a brand new 0 miles engine from GM because that was not what they received.
I don't know about the rest of the claims, but yes, sitting on a podcast for 60+ minutes is not the same as edited Tiktok videos. 😆
Guys, new shop owner here, I do ALOT of what’s David does, with the estimates and sending links ect. I’d love to come on the pod cast to discuss my experience and issues I’ve had so far and what I’ve learned from listening to your videos.
We'll be near Jacksonville, FL the first week of Feb at the Institute Summit. Are you attending that event?
@ I mean, I’d love to go, the shop has been so slow this month and December that I am kinda strapped and don’t think I can afford the attendance fee thru request as much as I’d love to go, I will see what I can do to swing it. I’d love to go, that would be freaking awesome
@ yeah registration is closed unfortunately, so I wouldn’t be able to make that event.
@@AJ-ExoticaATL uh, we have connections. If you can swing the time off, I can see about getting you in. And, if you're trying to do thing on the cheap and cheap (because I know how it is), just find a cheap hotel nearby and drive to the hotel for the conference. The stay at the resort is pricey.
I just confirmed we can get you in at a really good price. Email me if you're interested and I'll make the connection! David@ASOG.site
It's called an LLC. And you can get insurance. My wife runs an insurance agency and we have clients that have purchased Mobile mechanic insurance.
Get Scotty Kilmer on!😂😂😂
David will get a hug if we cross paths😂😂😂
some thing wong
thanks for the great video full of information
I went through the same fear with selling. I believe and coach advisors to not sell a single thing during the day (It is frightening for them also)... instead, just tell every customer what they need according to time and mileage, and the value for them, and let them make the decision. You will be far far ahead:)
If customers complain about your pricing, that should be rare, and a red flag signaling a lack of training. One of you spoke about value and I agree...... Until the value exceeds the price there is no sale. Most do not pay for a labor rate, they pay for piece of mind. GREAT show.
Please more content, dear
Should have told him to move the mic closer
He was soft spoken.
couldn’t figure out what to say. just wanted to be first today. lol. getting that gravy time guess were always trying to beat that clock.
blank
Giving it away encourages Everett Sinjyas. I worked in a shop where the tech got 0 hours for a free repair. "I'll take care of you on the next one", yeah sure you will.
If you got "animated" with me while I'm pulling a dash, timing an engine, or diagnosing something, over a waiter oil change? Yeah, that's a red flag for tech too. LOL A critical part of scheduling is either accepting excess time in schedules for BS problems, having proper dispatch of specific work to specific skill set techs, or accepting bumping time slots around. It's inevitable. My dentist does the same if someone has a shattered molar and they're trying to jam this into their schedule. I'm stuck waiting on my exam, boo hoo, that's life. If the subframe is out, or the engine is supported by jacks, or the intake is off, pushing stuff around to lose money on a 15min wait oil change is throwing a wrench into the entire operation and costing you more time and vastly increasing the likelihood that the interrupted mechanic then makes a mistake. No waiters is the future.
Great video! The main reason I started my channel was because of all the auto repair related channels that pretend to be auto repair gods most mechanics could never match. In reality we are all learning and trying to do better every day, or should be. Even after 40 years doing this I still learn all the time. Subscribed.
Just finished the first year owning my shop. Cash flow, margins and efficient car repair is king. Figuring out your monthly costs and where your numbers need to be is so important. We're entering tax season and I'm getting ready for whatever tax bill is coming my way. I'm looking forward to having a couple of years under my belt and knowing what's coming.
A few things I've learned in my 40+ years in the business. 1) Working at a discount and offering coupons and freebies will enable you to be busier with no profit. 2) Combing over vehicles bumper to bumper and writing $2,000 estimates for people who came in for an oil change might gain you work, but you'll need to send out coupons and offer discounts to get new customers. (See number 1) 3) Diagnosis should be charged for, every minute of it. Since it is the most valuable part of the process. There are dozens more, but 3 is good for now. :)
I dunno.... #1 Kinda? If it's not done properly? For sure. #2 Combing over a vehicle? You mean doing our due diligence and understanding what a clients needs are, then making recommendations so they are aware of what the future with the vehicle looks like? I think that's our job. We have clients who come to us because thats what we do. #3 Agree 100%
lot of great converstion
