That guitar doesn't sound bad for what its original design was intended to do. In 1938, "gypsy jazz" was popular (look for Django Reinhardt), and this kind of guitar was used more for this sound. It has more percussive strings and not much bass response because its sound chamber relies on F holes rather than the center soundhole that is the "standard" type of modern acoustic guitar.
