I started Shukokai karate in 88.
I had the honour to attend a training session under Sensei Tani in Derby, UK approx 1973.

Sensei Kimura was my instructor since 1987 Missed very much!
That is the weirdest version of Bassai Dai I have ever seen.

This was in NJ. Also in attendance are Tommy Morris from Scotland , Yoshisada Yonezuka and Tomoji Kidachi. They are seen at the head table behind Mr. Tani. I was there and his kata was very inspirational. Thanks for sharing
I grew up in the Albany NY Area, and trained Shukokai Karate under Sensei Tomoji Kidachi. He was an amazing Judoka. When I was young, I held pads for him while he demonstrated a straight Karate Punch. I didn't expect much as he was a small older man. After I got off the floor, I came to understand the difference between technique and strength. He was a true inspiration.
