@@starblue1484 Spies cost influence rather than gold if playing african civ. Could also get extra influence by selling the cattles for a one time exchange of influence (250 gold).

Never a doubt in my mind

But the downside is that Oromos cost a lot and move slower. For Shotels, they have too little hp to act as a tank unit and are also slow. Not only do Desert Raiders move faster, they also do siege damage, which neglects any armor/ranged resistance, making them in turn do more damage. On top of that, they have very high siege damage!

@@silashorak3580 Shotels are actually more expensive. They are 105 res for 1 pop and 210 for 2 pop. Compare that with 180 res for a 2 pop Desert Raider and you can see which unit is more cost effective.

@@aoe3gamearchive yeah but you can make more because they are a 1 pop unit so you can make like 20 units more and have still pop left for the same amount of ressourses... Whatever dude ;) by the way, whats you elo? XD

@@isaakr.7485 The cav civs that I like to play in alphabetical order is as follows: Brit Huss, Dutch Royal Horsemen, Ethiopian Desert Raiders, French Cuirs, Hausa Raiders, Italian Royal Horsemen, Lakota Axe Riders, Maltese Order Huss, Mexican Cuirs, Otto Deli, Russian Cossacks, USA Huss

I think this build is very versatile even for 1v1, u can make all unit types cav, skirm and anti-cav all from the same military building and the res cost for all the unit types are more or less the same. But after age 2, u might want to shift to neftenyas and javs/gascenyas for better population efficient units. The cav being 2 pop is strong throughout all ages.

I think the upgrade is quite expensive as it is a royal upgrade (750w750g). I think skirm is a better choice. Skirms can kite pikes and bolas while the rods deal with chimus. The 2 heavies can trade with the huaracas
