    The Documentary evidence is overwhelming, and you put it together concisely. I think people were expecting scientific evidence, which of course could only be provided by repeated experimentation. Scientific proof is not how historical events or people are proven, which you point out when you mention that we can’t scientifically prove the existence of any historical figures. I would urge people to look up documentary evidence and its prominence in authenticating history. Nice job putting together a ton of information and boiling it down.

      The writings by more than one anti-Christian within the first hundred years saying that Jesus existed, died on the cross under Pilate, and how the anti-Christians say that the believers saw Him rise from the dead. And how He fulfilled prophecy from the OT. I can’t prove it. But there is evidence. And this isn’t evidence, but we still talk about Him today shows the influence He still has.

    Well, that's it then, right? I listened to your entire video, and you did not provide a single piece of evidence for Christ's resurrection outside the Bible. Why did you lie? If you have to lie to defend your beliefs, it is time to get new beliefs!

    • @ferrari.michael
      @ferrari.michael 3 месяца назад

      I have read all your comments. All 17 of them. Let me explain each one. 1- Josephus and Tacitus wrote about Jesus and added at the end that the only thing Christians were saying was that He rose from the dead. I’ve stated that Josephus was born a couple years after Jesus as a Jew so he would have known what people both Christian and non-Christian said about Him. And if you use that logic to history, you must then question Alexander the Great and other historical figures as the people who wrote about them were not there with them but wrote what people believed. And there is a forged version of Josephus’s part on Jesus but I used the more neutral version that was found at Hebrew University. 2- I already said that Africanus did not believe that Thallus was correct when quoting him. 3- I did provide evidence with historical claims outside the Bible and with scholars who are atheist/agnostic that Jesus exists outside of His miracles. If you want to disagree with His existence, try to go through every historian outside of Reddit to argue that Jesus didn’t exist unless you were looking more for the alleged supernatural and I got your interpretation wrong. I was providing background for what I presented for the resurrection. 4- It’s not solid evidence about Jesus’s miracles. But it’s odd how the people who dislike Him the most are still admitting to His supposed supernatural abilities over 500 years ago where they could have just lied within those years to say that He never did anything with the supernatural. 5- Now I must ask, what do you consider evidence? Evidence and proof are two different things. Evidence that I stole someone’s cookie is that I was found with cookie crumbs on my shirt. Proof that I did it was someone took a picture of me deliberately eating the cookie and then referencing the evidence of the cookies crumbs on my shirt proves the claim even more that I ate the cookie. I have said throughout the presentation that it is evidence. Hence the title of the video. Evidence is not proof but evidence leads to proof. Even though there was a lot of evidence against OJ Simpson, he was not “proved” to be guilty of the crime according to the jury. 6- I know the Bible isn’t evidence for the Bible. Why do you think I was curious to look outside the Bible for these claims? I said it in the beginning of my video that many Christians try to use the Bible as proof when to skeptics, it’s not good enough proof which I think is a fair assessment. I even said that I will be referencing the Bible, because from what we know, it is the only recordings we have of what Jesus and His apostles apparently have said and written down. 7- You are right that Josephus didn’t say that James died for His belief. He died for breaking the law. What law exactly? Well most likely the laws of Moses. The first commandment is to have no other god but God. That would be considered blasphemy. The people who have broke these commandments were put to death. And what were these new Christians doing? Well, to the Jews, they were praying to someone they thought was committing blasphemy because Jesus was put to death for blasphemy. In their mind, praying to or encouraging people to pray to the person they thought was blasphemous was what they thought was blasphemy. Josephus did not say that James committed blasphemy but he didn’t say what law he broke. But by looking at the letters that James wrote in the Bible, also how James was an avid believer even when it says in the Gospels he didn’t believe, and how many Christians were persecuted early on during the life and writings of Josephus’s book, it seems pretty likely that James was killed for his belief in Jesus. It doesn’t outright say it, but it is very likely that was the law he “broke” since many Jews and Christians to this day still follow the Ten Commandments. 8- Well, we don’t have the body of Christ. You don’t have any evidence for where His body is. If we knew where His body was, Christianity would not exist. The fact that you cannot find someone claiming to have the body through history shows that we don’t know where His body is. It’s still a mystery to this day which is why there is a lot of debate about it. 9- “The existence of Christianity depends more on Paul than the existence on an empty tomb.” Hang on, is Paul even real? I don’t see any evidence or writings outside of the Bible and Christianity that Paul was a real person. “The Bible is not evidence for the Bible. Repeat that, son. The Bible is not evidence for the Bible.” Doesn’t that sound familiar? Don’t pick and choose what you want to find real from the Bible to move the goalposts. 10- These are eye witness accounts. First of all, Luke wasn’t there. And Mark who you mention in the comment right after was Peter’s associate who interviewed Peter. Getting Peter’s POV. I mention that. The Gospels are about Jesus. By having yourself as a main character in FPV, you take Jesus away from being the main character and instead make it about the person who is first person. This was about Jesus, not about themselves plus they interviewed other people as well to get the full picture instead of only themselves. 11- Can the other apostles not use Mark’s Gospel to help write their own version so they can look to add more depth to since they were allegedly there? Learn about “undesigned coincidences”. I suggest this channel that has a whole series on it. youtube.com/@testifyapologetics?si=E9OTSvzIXEol-Zc- 12- Why do you say all these prophesies are questionable and not list a reason why? And with the prophesy of His return, prophesies back then were perceived different than today. Plus, Jesus told His followers to spread the message across all nations. That would take more than the apostles lifetime. Watch this video that goes into detail about why Jesus wasn’t a false prophet and how prophecies back then worked differently then how our western civilization sees it. ruclips.net/video/OnNJXMkwx4w/видео.htmlsi=2olT0MFWNgT60M0P I didn’t say this was proof. I said this was evidence. Jesus existed, Jesus had followers, Jesus died, and His followers say He rose from the dead and the movement of Christianity is still here to this day. It’s much deeper than that but it is evidence of a supposed resurrection. Not proof. Lastly, what would it take for you to believe? What would you consider to be irreversible proof that would change your mind? Even if it was proved to be true, would you become Christian? I appreciate you taking the time to watch my video but I do not appreciate your condescending comments.

      @@ferrari.michael Thank your for conceding that Josephus does not corroborate the life of Jesus. The same is true of your other extra-biblical citations. In fact, though we have abundant evidence of the life and achievements of Alexander the Great, some stories regarding him are still taken with a grain of salt. For instance, it is doubtfull he ever "loosed the Gordian knot', so that story is taken as apocryphal. Would you suggest the Gospels to the same level of scrutiny and credulity that is applied to the tales about Alexander The Great? I doubt it, for were you to do so you would have to discard all the significant events of his life.

What's odd is that any educated person still believe this nonsense in the 21st century! "Now I must ask, what do you consider evidence?" Ideally observable and repeatable facts more likely to be true under a hypothesis than not. But at least I would demand multiple eye witness accounts...for which you have none.

    Regarding your "prophecies", all of them are questionable, but really....only one prophecy needs to be evaluated. Rigth?
