I can tell Phil here has never been OTR. This guy talks smack this system is garbage.

You did not show people how to get to the screen where they do the editing if you’re giving people a video on how to do editing you have to at least show them how to get to the screen where they do the editing I still don’t know how to do that
It’s not rocket science. U do it through HOS. Click on the log u need to edit. Keep in mind this video is 3 years old.
You don’t show people how to get to the screen where you do editing… That’s the most important part of this process you make the assumption people know how to get to that screen if you’re doing a video teaching people how to edit you need to show them how to get to that screen.
Ac and heat are locked and restarting bus does nothing???
Paper logs are by far superior.

Had these logs for a week, they still havnt calculated my miles correctly, today I drove 10 hours and logged 416 miles. I then logged in and logged out at the end of the day and still did not update miles, I think these logs blow so far, been using elog for 12 years without this many problems.
This is the worst logbook device/app I've ever used. It was developed as nothing but a surveillance device to get a driver fired. So far, it has increased driver turnover rates EXPONENTIALLY for the company I work for because they are too complicated to operate. I've lost four good drivers in the past three months because of it. All this device does is irritate drivers and leave them in a foul mood which is a nightmare for customer relations. The company president should have left well enough alone. We were using the Keep Trucking app and we were all happy with it. Samsara is too complicated and too sophisticated to be of any use to any driver on the road. You practically have to have a computer degree just to even get in to this piece of shit app.
A 2 year old could operate this app it’s that simple. If you can’t figure out how to use this you shouldn’t be driving in the first place
@@phillipstreif492 I've lost three drivers in the past two months over this piece of shit app....Perhaps you need to exercise some caution with your words as your comment certainly lives down to my expectations. Some bullshit tech app doesn't make a good driver. I was out on the road earning a living with paper logs LONG before you ever soiled your first diaper.

@@phillipstreif492 ....paper carries more weight legally than tech ever did. And to refresh your memory, they are still mandated and required by D.O.T. as backup, WHEN TECH FAILS. And regarding an audit, PAPER DOES NOT REQUIRE FREQUENT UPDATES BECAUSE OF APP BUG ISSUES AND CRASHES.... Good day, to you.

after an hour on hold I was told that i cannot change from driving to personal conveyance ,off duty driving ( Ag Exempt } Yard move etc Instead i was told to put a remark and tell my drivers to be smart enough to run around in violation Made no sense to me Im returning everything I would avoid them like Covid 19
Garbage doesn’t work half the time
Care to explain. We have used multiple systems and there is nothing close to the quality of samsara. I would guess there is connection issues with your device to the gateway.
Yeah no connection. If I’m out in the middle of nowhere and lose phone service. And I’m broke down I would be left out there to die . Qualcomm uses satellite and worked much better for me as a trucker
All the data is stored so any movement will auto log once you hit a cell tower. If you were out of cell service wouldn’t you be helpless anyway?

That’s very surprising. I would trade for that one flaw anyway compared to others. As an admin it’s extremely easy for us to manage. No complaints from drivers either.
What if tablet not connecting with eld
All this is great except that the Samsara ELD program/app has a shitload of flaws. Flaws that will get you ticketed because you’re in violation without even knowing it. One such flaw is when you run out of 14 hour clock but had drive clock left, if you PC, it will, without revealing it, put you back in drive. Unless you have immediately reviewed your logs and get the drive entry edited, you will have violated your 14 hour limit, even though you thought you were off duty. This is just one very serious flaw. There are several others I could discuss. I don’t know how other programs work, but if you have a choice, choose something other than Samsara for ELD.
We have had no such problems. It’s far better than the multiple other systems we have tried. Trust me it’s the best out there. Although technology is not perfect it sounds like there could be some user error. Call samsara driver tech they will troubleshoot.
Man I'm finding this out too I'm trying to look up my recap hours for the week and I cannot find 8-day recap log like you would on almost any other ELD keep trucking, Omni tracks etc sure it'll tell me how many hours I will receive the next day but I want to know in advance... Also there's no way to do split sleeper birth I was told that the only way to perform it is to noted in your remarks and it would automatically calculate an 8-hour split but there's no button or calculation to help you do that.....

Drivers! There IS a microphone in the camera although nobody will mention it. It's mentioned only briefly in the instructions.
Your point being? It’s an app on a cell phone of course there’s a microphone lol. 🤣🤣🤣

It has a feature for routes that we don’t use. I am not positive how that works.

Well done, and an excellent articulation of the purpose of the rally. Unfortunately the absence of a proper press conference in DC was a missed, golden opportunity. It could have been easily done by the ABA or UMA in one of the rally lots. Great work from you folks!

Hello there looks like you had Fleematics before and now you have samsara. how is your experience with samsara? Is it better than Fleetmatics? It’s easier to use I’m gonna try samsara with dash cameras for 30 days we have cdl class class truck A & B, and we report de fits mileage every 3 quarter, can the driver put the gallons of diesel in the system? Thank you so much.,
allan rivera we have nothing but good things to say about samsara. Highly recommend. We don’t use their cameras we use a different product a self managed system. Samsara charges a monthly fee for cameras. Our drivers turn in fuel receipts to track fuel purchases for ifta.

Say you are a limo driver taking a customer to an airport and you hit a stop light. While at the light you need to check a dispatching app used by the limo company you are driving for. Are you able to move out of the app and use another app without messing up the logs or does the Samsara app need to be open all the time?
Kyle B it’s intended to be used without any other apps open otherwise the app can put into “background” which basically puts it to sleep. This is an operating software feature from apple and android. However All movement is stored on the cloud so if your phone dies, are in a bad service area or the app backgrounds it will eventually catch up and show the true log. I know some drivers use their phones and also use a maps app and it seems to work. They recommend not to do this. If just quickly switching back and forth you should be ok those. Occasionally you need to restart the app or even device to wake the app up from it being in the background.
On the iphone, there is a Background Refresh option for each app. Have you found that this works to keep the Samsara app active and running?
Is it a complete fleet manager solution?
Mahmoud Mahrous yes. Vehicle tracking. Diagnostic. Etc. very good product.

Why do you show the dash of a Temsa when you claim it's a Van Hool? Not cool
David Lundberg they are pretty similar for checking codes. I did just rename it. However, most ELD systems have the capability of viewing engine codes because it communicates with the ecm. So really it’s a bit obsolete. Non the less still worth knowing how to do if the ELD hardware takes a 💩
