RK 24 Backhoe Removal and Installation 1
I've been tilling gardens for the public since 1979. I've worn out a John Deere model 40, John Deere model 550, John Deere model 660, and Frontier RT1150. In 2020, I purchased a 48" RK from Rural King and love it. All tillers have a slight offset to the right, so I usually go over an area twice. On the last round, I start in the center of the garden and till each round back and forth with the freshly tilled soil always on my right. That way, I eliminate left side tire tracks except on the outside last round.
Just finished swapping the BH6.5 backhoe with a box blade on my new RK 24 H tractor. Couldn't have done it without your guidance. Thank You very much!!
Glad I could help
Hello there, great video. I have some questions: I have an RK24 as well but in the manual and the maintenance charts they gave me the only items requiring maintenance at 300 hours is changing the engine oil and filter. The fuel filter change is at 500 hours and the Hydrostatic Transmission fluid and filter along with the front axle fluid are at 550 hours. Did they recommend going ahead and doing it all at 300 hours?
Yes for me they did
Great detail!!!
Thanks for comment
Where'd you get the grapple?
@@bryanritts213 it is a granite grapple from rural king
@@bryanritts213 thank you for the comment
That tractor is a real workhorse. I saw a RK 24 for sale on Marketplace for 15K it had a loader and backhoe with only 30 hours on the meter. That’d be a heck of a bargain.
Yes it is a deal!! Thanks for the comment
How has it held up?
Very well.
Are you going to do a follow up video to finish the 300 hr service?
Yes I have it done just haven’t edited it yet I will try and get it out in next few days
@@hayesoutdoorsandtractors3278 sweet thank you
Love this video! Subscribed!
Thank you
I love how the tiller cuts into the ground! I'm obsessing with tilling....liked, viewed, shared, subscribed!
You called that a toy. Try buying your wife a new vacuum cleaner and tell her you bought her a new toy 😂
I agree doesn’t work both ways lol
What RK helped you with this job? My local store was out of stock and ordered me a couple.
Mine is in PA all of the rural kings of what I was told will do this service but can not speak for the other RK’s. I just called the tractor sales person and told them I needed all filters and fluids for a 300 hour maintenance and they ordered everything and had it at front of store when I got there 2 days later. Thanks for the question!
Great video! Love seeing you teach your son valuable skills. Thank you for all your tractor work you helped us with.
Thanks for comment
Nice video, very detailed. Great assistant too! Keep the videos coming! Love this channel.

Side kick helping out😊

I have a question about the company you purchased the KING KUTTER GEAR-DRIVEN ROTARY TILLER - 4FT. TILLER WIDTH, MODEL# TG-48 from. Did you have any problems with the company specifically. Any problems with shipping? extra shipping costs? any import costs? Thank you. If I forgot something perhaps you can fill in the blanks. Thanks, Bob Nice video.
I bought this at Rural king it was on stock which most Rural Kings carry them no shipping or other costs associated with it.
Thank You.@@hayesoutdoorsandtractors3278
Awesome. Thinking about getting one of these but don’t own a cultivator and hoping I can do both with this tool. Do you think this tool can also take the place of a cultivator for cultivating weeds on corn rows? I figured you could just buy 2 extra C-tines and take off the discs to get the job done. Have you tried this?
Yes I remove my disks and use just the cultivars and it works good if you need more space to weed yes you could add a couple more times and it would work great
Thanks for this. I have the exact same tractor and tiller and this video handled all my questions on the pto shaft.
Tu for comment any other questions that I can help just let me know
Looks good. No criticism here. Gotta keep it light to make it portable. How has it worked?
It worked ok needs a little more support in the corners and the trailer wheels in back need mounted better but held up well for as much as we moved it. Also if I do again would put plastic roof panels on it instead of the metal sheets due to weight. Thanks for comment.
Has it held up? It has bad reviews and we just bought one
It has held up, one thing I tell anyone make sure you bring it in at winter cause the battery doesn’t hold up well in the cold and the bucket did crack where it attaches to lever but other than that it’s still running and doing good
Has it held up? It has bad reviews and we just bought one
The bucket cracked and broke after 3 months other than that it did well battery doesn’t last long
Thanks so much for the reply! So it does still work?
@@andrewbryant9214 yes it does still works and runs
I just bought this cart in blue last week. I love it. I bought yellow accessories for it. The yellow really makes the cart look sharp. When assembling the wheels, you want to peel back the liner then place it over the bolt heads. The assembly instructions aren’t that great. I watched a few RUclips videos before I assembled it. Good luck with the cart.
Tu so much for comment I wish I knew that before I did mine. Never even thought of that it was a busy day and I was just trying to get it together but that make perfect sense. Thank you again. Have a great day!!
That is a nice tool chest Harbor Freight has. I've been eyeballing them for some time now. I'll eventually buy one.
I have watched it for a bit also but when they dropped it to 219 had to get it lol
Great product review! Did you have a problem putting the main drawer box into place with the wheel assembly part? A lot of reviews I seen said they had a hard time getting it to put in place and some even returned it.
No we left all bolts loose until set into place and then tightened them all up a little maneuvering to get bolts in but not to bad. Tu for comment!
Looks great!
Tu for the comment. Have a great day

@@richardcole4938 tu for the comment been a busy spring and summer but back at it lol
When you were cutting I said to myself that it looked WAY to short. lol.. Glad you got it worked out.
Tu yes was nervous to do it but work out in the end. Thank you for comment
Few days ago I've purchased the 6211. Where do you get your parts? I have some minor work to do on mine.
There are some online companies I order from for the zetor let me check and I’ll add to the comments
@@hayesoutdoorsandtractors3278 awesome! thank you!
@@hayesoutdoorsandtractors3278 what kind of oil do you buy for it and what kind do you get for the hydraulics?
@@solesever I use regular diesel oil and I use tractor supply hydraulic fluid for all hydraulics
Is that a 5ft also?
4 foot 48 inches
How well does it cut in low and high places or ditches. I'm looking at one now from rural king. Seem very durable.
Doesn’t seem to scalp much at all have used it 3 seasons so far nothing but happy with it! The 4 wheels seem to keep it even on high and low spots
Is that a top dog grapple?
Granite grapple by top dog is correct
@@hayesoutdoorsandtractors3278 are you happy with the grapple? Any issues with it?
I love it best money I spent as far as accessories goes
Are you happy with the Zetor tractor?
Yes we use it almost daily. Just wish it was 4 wheel drive but it does all we ask of it. Thanks for the comment
@@hayesoutdoorsandtractors3278 In Bosnia, Zetors are very popular. Sadly, IMT does not work anymore so I've been thinking about either this Zetor or the 6245, which has all wheel drive. Nicely shot video about the radiator. With videos like these, maintenance will be a breeze.
Thank you we do really like our zetor but if u can get a 6245 for sure would be my first choice.
I did not hear you mention, if that is already equipped with the skid steer quick connect. This is the first video I’ve watched of yours. Or how that is mounted to your loader. Thanks
Tim yes all RK 24’s come with quick attach front end loader makes it very convenient to buy other attachments for the loader. Thank you for the comment
Do you have any problem with tires on mower hiting tires on 24?
Yes I do if I raise it up to transport in highest 3 point setting I do. I learned to lift it to highest point then lower it a few inches and the it don’t hit. Thanks for the question
@@hayesoutdoorsandtractors3278 Thank you , thinking i may shorten the tubing on mine.
Yes that should do it. Lol
How low can the cut be set? Would this be a good attachment for residential use? Thanks for the vid!
All depends on size of yard if you take the front end loader off and just have tractor and mower it is about 10-12 feet long if you have a big yard with not a lot of thing to cut around it would be perfect. It will cut I believe 1 or 1 1/2 inches at lowest setting
You set the height by spacers on each wheel
Informative video. Sounds like you owe the welder neighbor a coffee for saving the day.
You have got that right a big coffee and maybe a steak dinner lol . Thanks for the comment. Have a great day

Hello Hayes have you done anything to your backhoe? Mine is underperforming, Its almost like it gains no power when idling up the tractor. Your backhoe looks very stout and seems to have no issues
I did nothing to my backhoe since the day I brought it home other than greasing. Do you have an RK?
@@hayesoutdoorsandtractors3278 yes it's an rk24. The bucket and everything is very strong. Just having issues with backhoe
Ok you might want to talk to your dealer if it wasn’t functioning at all I may say not a tight coupling or a leak in the hydraulic fittings. But mine is a strong machine
Sizing your PTO driveshafts is very critical. A Coworker tore his rear housing up on a Kubota L 3800. He was brush hogging down a steep ravine and unknowingly hit a very high spot, as the tractor went over the bump and the mower came across the top of the bump, it broke his whole rear housing. Very costly. Had he shortened his driveshaft, this could've prevented that.
Thank you for comment well Dean I messed up the cut big mess new video coming out tomorrow hopefully to show and explain been a long day but actually got tiller in the ground and works awesome
Does it require extra weights on the front or did it seem to evenly distribute the weight when it was fully lifted up and moving around the yard?
Seems well Balanced as far as I can tell so far. Thanks for the comment!
Does the tiller already come with oil in the gearbox?
No Jeff box gear boxes come empty they both take 85w-90 gear oil. Also as I understand them rural king brand implements all come dry my neighbor bought the brush hog it also came empty when he bought it. Thanks for comment and thanks for watching!!
Jeff just an update this tiller did have gear oil in gear box and some in gear drive had to add 85w-90 in gear drive little less than a quart total. Don’t know if this is normal or a fluke.
That’s soooo awesome!
Thanks for comment!!
I have one of those rakes too. I duct tape mine..lol
Thanks for the comment yes duct tape it is lol
Nice job, I can’t wait to hook the finish mower up again and mow some grass lol! Have a good week👍
