This is why when I drove OTR I drove at night slept during the day for many reasons one being you can find parking in truck stops and not have to park on entrance and exit ramps on the highway there's also much less traffic unless you're in Chicago and they shut highways down for an hour or two at a time good times I hate Chicago

I drove back when you could still have paper logs and I just ran a loose leaf log only kept the bare minimum required by law run out of hours just make some new sheets drive all the hours you want this allowed me to drive 4000 to 5,000 miles a week

What I used to do is just take the week off go on vacation you don't have to deal with it dot don't like dealing with it either

Or just do 5 mins for a drop trailer. And use all the time in the sleeper then when you get ready to leave, do 5 mins for a pick up loaded trl and roll down the road.

I asked California's DOT and the split sleeper berth rule DOES NOT WORK when at the loading dock as you are "maintaining readiness" to move the equipment at customers request...even when sleeping those 2 hours unpaid and are not requested to move equipment. You are maintaining readiness when unpaid while sleeping when on their property no matter the reason. Remember the politicians don't like us hard working truckers.

I drive for a farmer and we use pc aslong as within 150 mile from load point. Just have to log pc/ agriculture exempt
