Nice video. When you teach past simple, as a reinforcement, would you recommend the kids to simply memorise a list of common verbs bit by bit with their base form and past tense? Or do you usually teach in the way in this video? Since it could be slower for the kids to learn when you only mention the verbs and reinforce the memory in certain sentences while there are so many verbs to learn. Thank you.

I'm sorry, but is it OK to start with "Today we are going to talk about things that happened in the past" to teach simple past tense to kids? I mean, if the kid knows enough English to understand this sentence you wont be having problem with the rest. As you're already using simple past tense in your introduction sentence.
