My experience with digital comics is mixed. The subscription services, at least a few years ago, when I had subscriptions to Marvel and DC, didn't allow access to new comics when they were released. You were always 3 to 6 months behind. Page layout, panel shape and size convey contextual information about story pacing that, I think gets lost in panel by panel reading, or conversion to webtoon format. Original digital material that is designed with bpb or scrolling is fine, but converting traditional comics to those formats loses something in translation. Tech wise, I never found a device that I was completely comfortable with. Phones and tablets, at least the ones I owned, were Never big enough to comfortably read a page. I'm hoping the digital game evolves to something I can work with, but for now, for me, physical media is where it's at.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers was the first television show that I remembered as a kid in which it’s borrowed footage would introduce me to the world of Japanese Pop Culture such as Tokusatsu, Anime and the video games that I enjoyed to this day.

I am the undisputed reigning master of Tokusatsu (title assigned by me, lol)! I agree, Godzilla (1954) is the father of… however, if we’re talking about superhero genre, under the umbrella term “Tokusatsu”, I would like to add, Gekko Kamen (1958 and pre-dates Golden Bat) which gave us power rangers. Separate topic… You should be a fly on the wall when I tell people, “ The original G.I. Joe gave us Transformers! FACTS! But most want to argue it! Gekko Kamen is also referred to as Moonlight Mask. Underrated video man this was exactly what I was looking for and I think you’re only creator that nailed it in under 5 mins too! I mainly read manga on my phone but saw Deadpool and want to get into his stuff so I’ll probably try marvel unlimited then. Would I just search like “Deadpool” and all his stuff would come up?

Just a couple notes: 1. Hoopla actually does have a panel vy panel view. Its nowhere near as good as the engine that MU and DCUI but if you just double tap on the screen, it turns it on. 2. Comixolgy technically wasn't shutdown. It was folded into the Kindle / Main Amazon storefront. It was very famously a bad fold in process when it happened initially but if everything was fine right, your whole library still carried over to the Kindle App. Nerdsync has a whole video about what happened. I’m still not someone that really purchases though. The only stuff I have on Kindle/Comixology are free titles and rentals from Kindle Unlimited and Libby.

Great video. A couple typos on dates which appear to be cleared up in other comments. Was surprised that you skipped over Ultra Q & Ultraman, as they both predate everything else you mentioned other than Godzilla. The Golden Bat movie released in December 1966 came out AFTER BOTH Ultra Q and Ultraman, although Golden Bat existed in manga format in the 1930's, and was more of an influence on Shotaro Ishinomori's Kamen Rider, which subsequently lead to Sentai (as you essentially allude to in a different way).

My first taste of super sentai was funny enough, from an episode of power rangers dino thunder. Where the rangers were at hayley's and were watching TV; When an actual episode of abaranger would be shown on the tv. But was dubbed over like the godzilla movies. And after that; i was curious about super sentai. And when i was staying at my grandparents; i went onto youtube and watched the film; dekaranger vs abaranger for the very first time. And when i first saw those teams in actual Japanese, i was both amazed and a dumbfounded when i saw the sentai suit for doggie for the first time. Since i was used to the power rangers design for him. But yea! That was my first introduction to super sentai.

I like to use my ipad to read. I use Marvel Unlimited and for TMNT I use Kobo Books. But of course still collect the trades and variants.

if you interest to watch all opening of super sentai, kamen rider, and ultraman you can search on youtube there are many video some youtuber do with english subtitle but you have to blur video that you do react toei copyright are easy get if you not blur it 😅

Godzilla movies which is why when Power Rangers introduced the Dragonzord it got me completely hyped as a kid.

Super Sentai is not the second longest running tokusatsu series. It premiered in 1975, Rider premiered in 71, and - as you actually showed in this very video! - Ultraman predates both of them premiering in '66. Or '65, if you count Ultra Q. Which is another thing: There is no "Ultraman Q". There's Ultraman, and there's Ultra Q. Different shows.

Glad to find your channel. My first two years of coming back to comics, I spent about $2K but this year 2024 I went digital and I save the money for some keys I like to collect.

I really enjoyed this! Go-Busters is my fav! I definitely plan to watch some of the older movies that you shared.

People are really over hyping this movie, it was fine, it needed more Godzilla tho

Always loved kaiju movies - even some of the really dumb ones. But Godzilla minus one is just the best I've seen. I am amazed on how the movie truly makes you care for the humans/victims of this monster. Really, really good.

Some of my thoughts: - There are so many scenes cut from this movie. I would even like to see the musical scene in its original length (around 10 minutes?) even if it's cringe. - Personally, I found the very first fight scene where they don't know why they're switching to be the most interesting one. The rest of the fights weren't quite as engaging. Idk, maybe that's just me. (To be fair, most of the action sequences were already revealed in the trailers and my experience watching it was mostly waiting for additional fight scene footage that wasn't already in the trailers) - They could have made Carol powering up the sun more visually interesting?? I think it was such a missed opportunity for a great spectacle. Same with Monica closing the portals. - Carol and Kamala moment in the plane should have been the final shot. I would move the Kate Bishop scene to the mid-credits and X-Men scene to the end-credits. Because.... why did it have to end with Kamala talking to a random somebody? (I say random from a standalone movie point of view. As someone who didn't see the MCU projects Kate Bishop was in, it felt weird)

I loved this movie. It was the Godzilla movie I have been hoping for. But I am still going to be fond of the old school Godzilla movies. The monsterverse Godzilla is a cool adaptation of the character. Didn't like the pinkish ray and backfin color He evolved to, though. If you are a Godzilla fan like I am. You well know all Godzilla movies are somewhat different from each other. From Kiddie flicks to more serious ones like Minus one. Godzilla movies are like a box of chocolates. You never know what you are gonna get😅😅.

Sorry, but passing this movie as the best Godzilla movie ever is pushing it. The 2014 American Godzilla was way better, regardless of the plot. Minus One was scarry, yet its plot had some problems and the creature itself was lacking in many sceens, just looked way to fake compaired to the American movie.

I appreciated this movie so much because my girlfriend isn’t a nerd but really enjoyed the movie as well. I like my fantasy stuff but when it’s grounded in reality it creates something very special.

Damn near the best MOVIE ever. A godzilla film where you Dont want godzilla to show up, you love this family and dread the apperence of that Monster in thier lives.

even though this is 100% my preferred movie, i also got absolutely nothing wrong with godzilla x kong. there's nothing wrong with a dumb, fun movie that allows me to just shut my brain off and enjoy the eye candy. obviously minus one is the WAY better movie, but i don't need to go through that sort of emotional roller coaster every time i put on a godzilla movie lol

The Marvels was terrible. It's fashionable now to hate on the MCU because it has been terrible, with few exceptions, for going on 6 years. Do you think people wanted to hate "The Marvels" or other bad MCU projects? Do you think we enjoy wasting our time on disappointing movies that are killing a beloved franchise?No, we want movies to love, to get us excited for the future. The Marvels was another "here's a thing, isn't it great, look how diverse our casting is. Now just wait until the next thing! It's going to be the next thing" rinse and repeat. People who liked movies like "The Marvels" or the latest Ant-Man or Thor: Love and Thunder, Multiverse Of Madness etc. are the worse kinds of fans... Those who like MCU projects just because they are the MCU and not because of the quality of the movies. It's why we keep getting bland boring poorly conceived projects (again, with some exceptions, "No Way Home", GOTG 3, X-Men 97') The Marvels is bad, jut plain bad. "The Marvels" sits at an abysmal 52% audience score, and I'm pretty sure that is the worst audience score out of any mcu film. It has a worse score than "The Eternals" "Quantimania" "Love And Thunder" and "Incredible Hulk"... I mean come on. Such a low score suggests even a chunk of MCU diehards didn't enjoy it. -"this film packs a punch with its stellar performances and fresh take on the MCU" Might be the worst take in the history of awful takes.... -"stellar performances" lol, what? The best performance in that movie was middling at best. The actress who played the villain can not act to save her life. Bree Larson has zero personality. The actress who plays Monica (why is Monica Rambeaux even a thing) took the "I don't want anyone to actually like my character" acting class that Brie Larson teaches. -"Fresh take"... What? There was nothing fresh or new about this movie. Other than it was all female... that worked out well hmm. lets give the audience 3 female characters that nobody gives a crap about, that will surely be a box office smash. -"groundbreaking direction"... Mate, what are you even saying? This movie was as vanilla as it gets. This video is wild man, just wild. I didn't watch much of it, so maybe you were trolling; if so, good job. Here's hoping Deadpool/Wolverine can breath some life back into this dying corpse.

As a kid I had this cheap electronic toy with a battery sound box: that played the original Godzilla roar in 16bit sound.
