Here's a video about making cigar box pinhole cameras. Unfortunately, a hard drive failure occured and I lost the rest of the footage. I include this just to show a couple of ideas for cameras. Making a Stumpf Fiddle timelapse
Просмотров 9 тыс.13 лет назад
I made a Stumpf Fiddle from stuff mostly around the shop. From the Bottom up: Tomato Paste can, 2 screen door springs strung over 2 pie tins full of pop corn. The the Jingle bells and a goat bell. Ceramic Tin cup tops it off. Oh, and don't forget the beer opener. Played with one of my Grandma's spoons. Recorded on my G9 every 1 sec. Song: Natural World by Sonny Landreth

Super cool site Jim. I'm planning a trip up there in a few months. Would you mind letting me know the coordinates or directions here in relation to the actual campground? Thanks!
@@dbake014 it's listed on the free campsites.net app. When you go up the mountain towards Springer mtn from the Nimblewood side! Go left at the fork and there will be a sign where you turn left. There's also a nice little primitive equestrian campground that's free at Jake Mtn. Also near Nimblewood.
@@amishjim Thanks for the help, I appreciate you! Happy camping
If you do that east coast loop make sure you stop at my place for a few days.. I remember that raft they build !!!
Attended a school for photography, in the 70's. First project was to build one of these. GREAT intro to the craft
Right on
Real cool! Theres a dude in town gettysburg that does tin types in old cameras he restored. Real interesting, thanks man!

Hey Jm!! Janis would be 80 today...wanna have another birthday party for her?!
I guess maybe next year? LOL
@@amishjim cool!!
Have a Pepsi
Doctor? Doctor? I concur! We saw a bald eagle here in Cecil last weekend. I took a job in medical cannabis, oh yeah brother!!
Great area for camping.
Yes it was!
Hey man, it was good talking to you the other day about lighting and controllers. You'd mentioned you'd put a first video up so I wanted to come check it out! Can't wait to see what your future endeavors hold - and what you do with that airstream looking trailer!
Hey buddy!! I really enjoyed watching this! I LOVE that you’re living life by your rules and do not consider societies expectation or social norms. In my opinion you’re living a life that Alexander Supertramp would have approved of. Love you old friend - be well!
Hell yazz, best choice I ever made
Amish I’m still cooking today, music is also extremely important to me. I thank you for all of your life lessons, can’t wait to see you again. This was great man, keep up the great work, great to see you Jim
I'll hit you up when I come back to the Burg. You're home right? If you search Frum The Hills on youtube, my band got back together and we're recording a new album. You still playing?
@@amishjim yes brother home is great, I still play bass, some upright, keys and other stringed instruments! Yes I’ve seen the band is back together my favorite song is “tuning”! I’d love to be a hardworking percussionist like yourself, love you man!
@@jmsbartnick "tuning", I'm dieing over here LOL
Nice man! Keep on truckin 6 months in and loving it myself.
You're always traveling anyways. You may as well. I'm glad I broke the ice for making a video. I need to get back shooting again. So many opportunities, like the ones you capture. Enjoy your travels :D
I still want to kayak to Gettysburg. Im glad you made this video. It's so nice to hear you. Youre the one who got me into hiking. I bought my first backpack cause of you. I think I bought it at trader Joes with you as a matter of fact. Best nomad in the world 😉 ❤
Who dat?
Good Tuesday morning to you brother!!
Hope all is well with ya. Still around Hanover?
@@amishjim In the hills west of gettysburg. We are still kickin.
@@ericday604 👍🏻 we used to go to Michaux all the time
haha man this is hilarious! i love that movie, can't believe it is not more popular. i was looking for some footage and found this, you are a star for me now.
Glad you enjoyed it! :D
@@amishjim this are my 15 seconds of fame! ;)
Ropes are probably for tarps, lights or as you said, bear bags. The tags are probably from USFS, doing a campsite impact study. I used to design these studies in college. This site looks like it's ready to be retired for a few years to heal up.
Its just odd, the way the lines run between the camps. Im a full time boondocker for 5 years, and this is one of the most curious sites that I've come across.
Ha!
or esc
it ended up being the motor. I replaced both, tho
Great knife technique JM! Love the music.
what's the name of the song? it's good!
Thanks, but I'm a sister. Anyway, thanks I pretty much figured I'd need to look for a dog toy ball or something pretty strong. I think the ball was glued in somehow with some industrial strength glue. I may be on the search for some The ball has to fit in that cup somehow and still stick out so it can bounce on the bottom. I do like your blue cup attached to the top though. Thanks for answering so quick though.
Howdy Brother, I really couldn't tell ya. I decided to go with the tomato paste can in part because I wasn't sure how to attach the ball in a way that fit the theme of the fiddle, I would consider going to a petsmart or a bigger pet store and looking at the dog toys that hold treats, esp look for a company called kong. I know it's thinking out side the box but I do believe the hole is small enough and tight enough to hold onto your fiddle.
HELP please! I have an authentic antique stumpf fiddle that I play and love dearly. Well the old orange doggie ball on the bottom has seen its better days. I need to know how to go about replacing it. There is a metal cup on the bottom of the stick. It doesn't look like the ball was glued in and there are no screws showing. It is really in there secure. Any ideas how to replace the ball? Thank you so much. If you want to see it I can send you a link.
thanks for the video great stuff
Remote Op it is.. Thanks :)
@Cartyy I guess it really comes down to how much height you need. Jib is a lot quicker and easier, better with less crew. I'd say another consideration is if there is an OP flying, but I'm against that anymore. Better to just spend that grand on a head and Remote Op than risk someone's life with a crane that hasn't been tested or safety certified in who knows how long.
Have a shoot next week, don't know if i wanna get a giraffe crane or just a jib
@Cartyy half hour or so. It's been awhile since I've built this crane. I'd say 45 minutes tops if there's going to be a rider. This was built for a remote head.
How long did this take to build?
I'm so sorry, I just saw your reply. haha Usually a couple guys can build and balance a Giraffe Crane in less than 2 hours. Anyways hope all is well and that your shoot went well lol
@@amishjim I honestly don’t remember watching this😂 I don’t remember what shoot it was, I’ve prolly had 1000 since then. But thanks for the reply
aw come on Amish i watched the whole vid just waiting to you hear you play sumthin comical on that thing lol......I'm sitting here looking for some inspiration to write sumthin new. anyways, how's things going bud? haven't had a chance to chat in a while so I'm just checking in. anything new in the world of grip-life? I'm planning on moving to Florida this April. once i get set up your more than welcome to roll down to Sarasota. keep in touch bro, peace :) Vinni
We miss you Vince!!!
Oh come on Now i want to hear you play it. Do another video!. Got my ax on Ebay!

A for effort?
There is a related video about a Jimmy Dean Sauage complaint call... do you guys eat Jimmy Dean sausage on stage or something in between songs?
I think it's good enough, but in my own opinion, another angle would be have far better. Usually, clouds look much mesmerizing if they are moving towards you or moving away from you... so this lacks a bit of feeling... nice work though!
@KabinPhever Thanks Bro :D Hope all is well in the PHX area
@jmsbartnick I'm doing great, loving life in the Burgh. Where are you at now?
Hey man, I really enjoyed this. Hope you are doing well amishjim.
Hey man, I really enjoyed this. Hope you are doing well amishjim.
Looks fun from the camera side, seems like it would be terrifying from the kayak point of view. I can see how that would be addictive though. I'll stick with flat slow water thanks.
it's called a Shredder. It's made in Ohiopyle, PA.

So the reason I would say this was racked into the bottling bucket was to mix the priming sugar in with the beer. It's a delicate procedure that you can not introduce oxygen into...
The joys of homebrewing. A true test of patience. Usually, you rack from your primary fermenter to your secondary about a week into fermentation to keep the beer from developing off flavors from sitting on the trub. Then on bottling day you carefully rack from secondary to a bottling bucket that you mix the priming sugar into. All this talk about homebrew, I think I'll enjoy one of my Pumpkin Lagers! (something different) Please support your local homebrew store!
I think that we did it this way as a secondary filter kinda deal, so that most of the yeast and debris stayed in the carboy & not the "ale pail" or bottles.
