It seems to me a comparison which seems not to be accurate when one likes to compare old school Tae Kwon Do (Hyungs) to new school Tae Kwon Do (Pum Sae) - the first one is focused on effect while the second one is focused on efficiency

Taekwondo gyms now are more on money making. Not making warriors. Thats why taekwondo now is more soft and score oriented.

70's and 80's TKD completly different animal. In California it was white gi vs. Black gi. And the techniques were infanitly better. Form mattered. Look at old Byung yu footage.

In 1990 I practised taekwondo, but to be honest the winner's attitude was unacceptable, he should have gone straight to his opponent and supported him when he fell KO.... 0:11 dog's attitude, that's why I stopped competing because I've seen a lot of things like that.

Our Instructor teaches with discipline so we have to kick our hardest and make it fast, if yoy dont combine those together he will tell us to do it again

The South Korean TKD committees ruined TKD when they tried to make it "different" than karate to qualify as an Olympic sport when Seoul hosted the Olympics back in the day. that's where those stupid chest protectors came in. We never used all that gear before. Now the kids look so floppy in their upper bodies because they don't even use their arms.
