In this video, I test two of my newest boomerang models: the Jetstream and the AMO V5! 🌀 The Jetstream performs best in moderate wind and throws with precision, while the AMO V5 is a perfect beginner's boomerang-easy to throw and great for first-time users! 🎯 Both models are available for free download on MakerWorld. Watch the video to see how these boomerangs fly in real conditions.
Testing a 3D Printed Boomerang 4 Kids
Просмотров 5032 месяца назад
In this video, I test my newly designed and 3D-printed boomerang, specifically made for kids and beginners. It weighs only 20.5g and is quick to print. The boomerang should be thrown with minimal force but plenty of rotation. For best results, throw it in little to no wind, parallel to the ground, with a tilt of 0-5%. Watch as it smoothly returns! In this Video, i‘ m testing my new model, the „Batarang“ and i have to admit, this Model is not for beginners. You need a strong throwing arm, and if you launch it at the right angle, it will come back! The model is available for free download on MakerWorld #3dprinted #boomerang #tommy3dlab

PLA
Looks awesome. Just printing the whole set now. ❤
Bro just keep up
that's the plan 👍😄
Clean af✊💪🙏
Oh yeah!! 😄👍
Make one that looks like the glathe from krull
It does look a bit dangerous, but I can try 😄

Nice work dude. I just posted a short about mine. I went the opposite direction tho.. made it bigger and heavier. Your approach is better😀
Thank you! Smaller, lighter models are very easy to throw and don’t require much space, but they are also much more susceptible to wind. I just thought that for beginners, it might be better to print and throw smaller, lighter models. The fun is the same, but you save on printing time and material. I just watched your short on it, and I have to say, 140g is quite hefty for a 3D-printed boomerang. 😄 But it looks awesome! Where can I find the file? I'd love to give it a try. 👍👍
@@Tommy3DLab not available yet, I’ll let you know if I post it. Yes it’s way too big lol
Great 👏🏼
just printed this, its very good!
currently my favorite 👍👍 Thx!
Made that look piss easy
😄😄 thx!
@Tommy3DLab I've printed about 5 or 6 of your different designs so I'll definitely be printing this one
@@That_Ultra_Guy That makes me very happy. I find this one the best so far because I don't have to throw it too weakly but also not particularly strong. I'm looking forward to your feedback! 👍👍
@@Tommy3DLab I'll let you know how I get on mate thank you
Hard work always pays off 💪🏼
Great 🤩💪🏼
Thx! 👍👍
🤩 😍
Looks like there working amazing 🤩
Of course, is a made in Germany Produkt ! 😎👍
this looks sick! just found your prints on the bambu app - going to print it a give it ago! thank you :)
So glad you like it! Have fun printing and throwing it, can't wait to hear how it works for you! Let me know how it goes! 👍👍
I am a boomerang maker as well. Do you make boomerangs often? That's a nice flight. Hmu sometime I can share knowledge. I've been making them over 10 years.
I learned the basics in wood technology class at school about 20 years ago, and for the past six months, I've been engaged in my new hobby, 3D printing. Since then, I've been designing various things. I'm glad to hear that you can help because I really need some support. My three-bladed models work quite well, but the two-bladed ones are still running with difficulty. 👍👍
@@Tommy3DLab three blades are more stable. But technically from a boomerang perspective. There is no such thing as a two blade boomerang. The Elbow is also a wing. A neutral wing of sorts.
@@5k37ch0 I can tell you're more knowledgeable about this than I am! I've made a few models, and I suspect they're difficult to handle because they're too small and light. I’ve noticed with the triangular models that they require very little effort to throw and come back reliably. Meanwhile, my two-wing models are really hard to throw, and it feels like I'm nearly tearing my arm off. I remember my first model, which I carved out of wood. On the first throw, it made a nice wide circle and came back to me perfectly! That model was much larger and heavier, and I could put more energy into the throw more easily. What do you think-could that be the issue? Should I try making them bigger and heavier? I'm currently printing them at a thickness of 2.52 mm, and so far, that's given me the best results.
@@Tommy3DLab I've never done a boomerang thinner than 3mm. I can definitely help you figure it out and also connect you to people that would know even more than me
@@5k37ch0 I chose this thickness because they are printed and each additional layer would increase the print time. When printed in a single color, they take about 20 to 30 minutes depending on the model, and are then ready to use. My first models were 5 mm thick, which was way too thick! They flew very far, which is usually a disadvantage since you need a large area to throw them. Therefore, I gradually reduced the thickness to 2.52 mm and was able to significantly decrease the throw radius. I’m very pleased that you’re helping me and can provide the necessary contacts! Do you have a suggestion for where we can communicate outside of RUclips?
The thwowp noise when you throw it is so satisfying! I will have to print one soon
😄👍👍
wow Tommy! I want to learn with you !
I'm really happy you enjoyed my video and the work I put into it! Do you have a MakerWorld account? We could share knowledge there. 👍
Plus one subscriber! Very cool, excited to see more
Thanks for your support, that's exactly what I need 👍My next projects will be Boomerang in TPU with a PLA or PETG skeleton
Great stuff
Thx! 😎👍
Can you make a model of giggling goose from Bootleg boomerangs?
Yes, it depends on the model. Currently, I'm having trouble getting two-winged models to work. Which model from Giggling Goose are you interested in?
Is there a way to show exactly how its thrown. Also is wind required. Also i love the model made 3 already trees like to eat them
I’m currently working on a video where I demonstrate how to throw the boomerangs. Unfortunately, I don’t have a microphone right now, and I’ve realized that my voice is hard to hear outside. I’m figuring out the best way to address this. Most of the models require no wind or only a light breeze. The new V6 model, however, is designed for slightly stronger winds and benefits from them. I’m also working on creating models with a very small turning radius so they don’t get stuck in trees. I think TPU might be the solution for that. 😃😃👍👍
@Tommy3DLab thanks for the info I will go try some more later on today has wind yesterday was 0% wind and just kept going up and then straight down. Also for sound you can probably use a Bluetooth mic ..and maybe drop down like a flag or something for us noobs to understand the wind aspect
@@TheJesselelinko Including the flag for wind direction is a great idea. If you notice that it’s going steeply upward, you should adjust the angle of your wrist when throwing. The boomerang should be released almost vertically.
Just printing mine on my A1 Mini. Going to give it a try tonight
Thank you for giving my model a chance! I'm looking forward to your feedback, feel free to be honest, as that's the only way I can keep improving my designs! 👍😎
Printing right now on my a1!
Cool, let me know how you like the model.👍
Being a begginer, 3 months and a second printer for free, how?? Share in detail?
When you create models and upload them to MakerWorld, you can earn points when they are downloaded. You can use these points to purchase various products from Bambu Lab. There aren't many more details, but if you want to learn more, feel free to check out my page on MakerWorld.
Give me that machine, just kidding
If I become successful on RUclips, I might actually be able to give you one! 😄
You will grow, but I live in Brazil.

Great design Tommy 😉 Btw I spent many hours playing Fallout 2 as a child, what a game !
I actually bought the bundle a year ago, which includes parts 1 and 2, but I have to admit I haven't gotten around to it yet. My first Fallout journey started with part 3. I'll let you know how part 2 was once I've completed it
👍🏻
