Dang that radios awesome I have a 955 and the 447 in my dump truck the 447 does about 75 W but I heard the 497 does 120-150 so im gonna have to retire the 447 I see you're from Columbus I work up there a lot in my dump truck I was just up there Paving Port Columbus Runway i go by 164 on SSB I believe I have spoke to you before on side band 188 right?? im 164 from the hocking hills I've been up there a few times in my pickup truck and talk to a lot of you guys on ssb

I know you posted this 5 years ago, but on the off-chance that you see this comment: Can you tell me why you had the Dosy TC-4002-PSW meter set to "Horizontal" for the Antenna selector, and why you didn't switch the SSB/AM Toggle switch to "SSB" when you did the watts output test? I have a Stryker SR A-10 Mag Base antenna for my 955 and when it's in my Jeep and I wanted to check and set the SWR, I used the "Vertical" connection on the Dosy. The Antenna Selector on the Dosy was set to "VERT". Of course, I don't know if you're in the house or a vehicle and what kind of antenna you're running, but I'm sure you selected the right position for this video. I just would like to know why you selected the "Horz" position. BTW: Is there any reason why you didn't test the output on the Lower Side Band? Is it because if the USB shows 90/100 watts, it's safe to assume the LSB will be the same? I have the exact same radio and meter. The Dosy manual for the TC-4002-PSW is using an old TC-4000 or TC 4001 image to refer to the various switches in their Switch & Dial Map. They refer to a switch or dial that is not shown in their image as "#8" in "Fig 1". There's a similar confusion for yet another switch or dial, (I can't remember which), but my point is that I'm having a hell of a time trying to figure out what their talking about. I can't find any alternate manual or video about the meter's functions so I'm having to guess. I bought my SR955HPC v2 in June 2022 and had it shipped directly to a pro CB shop for conversion, Peak & Tune. I did some tests with a dummy load when I got the radio from the shop back then and it passed with flying colors. I also installed the software and made some minor changes in the Roger Beep. Then I put it in my Jeep, set the SWR, (sits at about 1.06 and no more than 1.08 at max), and I get out at least 25 to 30 miles. Lots of compliments about the way it sounds . On a skip, I've talked well over 2200 miles but then, that is a skip. So I didn't have any problems with it, I just wanted to bring it inside and do an "annual cleaning & some testing". But I just need a few small reminders as to what is supposed to be switched on and/or off for a few tests. Anyway, Thanks for the video! Rich

Smhhhh, roger beep, echo. Roger beep is for ssb not cb and echo, well echo is just a noise toy. However, a little tiny bit of echo will deepen your voice modulation and make it less tinny. I don't use ssb so I dont use roger beep and my voice is deep enough to get smooth modulation so I have no use for echo. But hey, to each his own. I talk regularly to friends that may use roger beep or/and echo and they're still my friends. Personally though I can't stand either and they know it. I have always said "if I don't talk to you its probably because we're not friends.

I need help with mine... It's in a company truck, but no matter how much I fiddle with the talkback and the echo dials and no matter how high or low the volume I ALWAYS get BAD feedback. It's connected to the trucks built in speaker by my left ear ('15 Kenworth T660 if that matters) and the boss has those stick antennae with the small black cans about a foot up the mast from the bottom. I got a nice Road King 56 mic. No matter what I do I cannot use it to talk on with out ear splitting feedback. Any ideas on how to fix this?
