@10:00 it might be better to use a while loop here instead of an if to go through the pages. I'm guessing each page has 100 contracts and since you only go through the first 2 pages that might be why you're getting 200 contracts on the dot. Otherwise API looks really easy to use !

OrderBooks for stocks? Something similar to nasdaq totalView? I cant find any references for stock order book in the api reference nor in the alpaca-py repository.

Alpaca would get more clients if they built their own trading platform, open source if you like, so that the average trader wouldn't have to build everything from scratch.

Thanks for the video! Around 44:12, for resampling OHLC 1 minute bars into 5 minute bars, would it be more accurate to calculate open of opens, high of highs, low of lows, and close of closes? It's nice also that a specific timeframe such as five minutes can be constructed then passed in instead of having to resample.

Thank you for the nice explanation. In algo trading, especially scalping, the overall latency is everything. It's good to hear you've built your system from the ground up, the data feed is actually pretty good, however the execution times are quite behind in my experience. Trading daily high volume stocks and often having 1-2 seconds fill time, it's way too much for algo traders. Have you thought about possibility of direct market routing? Many would be willing to pay the fee for it. Thank you and keep up with the good work 👍

The only thing thats giving you an edge over other trading platform is that you are not charging any brokerages and neither their is a minimum deposit amount but on the other hand what is hampering your growth is that you are assuming that every individual who is landing on this video is a pro coder. How would you feel if you go to a dcotor with a fever and he tells you that before visiting on your own do your Blood Test, check your Blood Pressure, check your Sputum then come to your own conclusion whether if things are normal and if it doesnt then only visit him personally. In this case how would you feel if you were his patient. The same thing is happening over here, in the first hand you have to bifurcate your website with Pure Traders and API Traders wherein for Pure Traders give them an option of selecting the check boxes as per their trading taste and let all the coding takes place in the back ground automatocally without them getting bothered, and the traders are only concerned with the final dashboard which will turn up as per their Trading Choice. AND for API Traders you can go ahead with your this video. Reason for this is cause 99% of Traders landing on this video are pure traders and doesnt want to get involved in coding, and hence you will be loosing out on them big time. Although you idea is good but your approach is wrong.

Saw this Video; But dont you think you are making it more complicated. First of all what will be the ratio of - All Traders being Coders - be 100%? 50%? 10%, or 1%? Rather asking us to code if you could have put a selection box on your main website where once a person becomes a verified user he can simply select the options of his wannable trade setup like he could select the indices, he could select the no. Of stocks, he could select the Bar charts with timeframes of his liking. Only you have to list out all the options of trading in conservative check box kind of selection and once any trader goes throught it selects the boxes of his liking, then let your coding get done in the background and the users will only see the final setup emerge in his dashboard as per his selection, so simple.

I dont understand here; 1. Almost out of 10 people searching for Alpaca is landing on this channel cause they have seen somewhere that they can do (international) stock and indices trade at zero cost. 2. Out of those 10 searchers 9 are pure traders who are only concerned with conventional trading. 3. Once they land on your channel you bombard them with jargons like API and all those python codes which goes above their head. 4. Its like entering into MBBs course by learning basic anatomy of the body and on your day 1 of the class you are getting taught on how to dissect a ligament from the tissue in order to get into the bone marrow to study bone cancer. This is the same way 9 out of 10 people would feel once they land on your channel. Atleast make a video first on why a conventional trader should get into API with the relevent step by step transition or atleast make it clear in the first that these are only for brokers and not for traders. 5. Keep a simple trading app for conventional traders who know very well how to trade based on the market move and are not interested in doing the business with Python codes and scriptures. 6. In Conclusion Alapac's identity in RUclips is advertised as 'no charges App' for trading International Stock, Indices and hence due to this almost 99% viewers are conventional/normal traders and when they reach at this channel they get confused and wander away. And you are putting all your energy in API where out of the 100% viewers only 1% go ahead with your stuff. So in a way you are loosing out those 99% viewers which could be retained only if you had a conventional Trading App.
