Oddity - Pitter Patter | Tim Hopkins
Просмотров 552 месяца назад
Oddity is from my album, Pitter Patter, released in the spring of 2024. The main bass sequence was recorded from my Korg Monologue while the sort of rubbery sequence that is layered over top was created on my Behringer Crave. Percussion was all played on my Native Instruments Maschine Micro. After dabbling with AI produced videos, I've returned to a more hands on approach. 👉If you enjoy this vi...

Bells is the fourth track from my Pitter Patter album, released at the beginning of June, 2024. The 'bells' sound was created and played on my Korg Wavestate, while the gravelly bass synth part was created and played on my Korg Monologue, which is great for those sorts of sounds. The percussion sounds were shared between my Native Instruments Maschine Micro and percussive sounds/sequences that ...

Strange familiarity❤😮
@@justinhuffman2430 it is isn’t it? I have felt the same way since I first recorded it. I shared it with various musical friends before release, concerned that I had ‘borrowed’ something unwittingly; however, they all assured me that was not the case. I’m still unconvinced but I haven’t come across the ‘source’ yet. Thanks for listening ❤️
Very nice, as always Tim.
Thanks, Pete.

Certainly a song with a lot of emotion in it, and works by keeping the number of instruments down to let the tune shine through

The Range of Tim's Music is astounding it's another track that requires headphones on for a full immersive experience the psychedelic visuals towards the end of the song remind me of ending of the classic 2001 film
@@garystenning thank you. Your comment has a lot of meaning for me. I know what you mean about the visuals. 🙏❤️

@@garystenning thank you again. 🙏❤️
Very impressive, Tim! Great tones, textures, beats and melodies.
@@LordKlektar thank you very much for listening and for your positive words 🙏❤️
Another great track from Tim's Pitter Patter Album recommend using headphones to hear the detail of how the sound is spread in the stereo mix, video compliments the music well done!
I’m glad you suggested headphones for this!
@@garystenning thank you very much and I appreciate the headphone suggestion. I spend a lot of time getting things to compliment each other and create space and movement in the stereo field so your observation is greatly appreciated.
One of my favorite tracks from Pitter Patter 👍 The video is great, too, especially the kissing firefighters 😆
@@theNTT.StrandedAlien I know you like the kissing firefighters but the question is, what is that all about?
This is nicely hypnotic. It has an almost driving sense of urgency? maybe. I like that little melody that creeps in here & there but never fully presents itself until the end.
@@johndundas5875 thanks very much ❤️ This was written during a time of upset. I think it came out in the music. Thanks for giving listen.
The difference between midi played instruments & hand played makes such a difference in feel. I arpeggiate my bass parts & maybe one rhythm instrument. Then I just improvise all the other parts. I have difficulty with finding any emotion in entirely programmed EDM type stuff. Not that there's anything wrong with it. I just want to hear playing.
@@johndundas5875 I agree completely. I’ve gradually moved to that approach as well. The only rhythmic programming, really, is writing sequences but I still record everything through a mixer as I find the sound is much more expressive. Other parts are played which means there are potentially minor rhythmic errors, but really, that’s what creates feel. Although I’m using machines, I want the music to feel more human, if possible. Thank you for listening and for your words. 🌞❤️
I like it Tim. It's nicely upbeat for being a world weary traveler. I like the simplicity & it's very catchy.
@@johndundas5875 thank you. I was doing things so differently back then. Come to think of it I may have put the wrong album title on it. Oops!
@@johndundas5875 glad you mentioned it. It’s actually from my Ruby’s Lament album, which was generally created with tongue planted firmly in cheek. I’ll have to change it :)
