There's 1 thing I wish black people could understand... By law we are all equal, black or white the laws are the same. Does racism exist.. of course but you are not going to fix the problem with legislation b/c the laws are equal. The problem is socially, that's where the racism is, it's in society. You are not going to address societal racism thru the passing of legislation, you will only address societal racism thru societal movements(movements such as BLM or maybe something less corrupt than BLM the organization).. and under which administrations do black movements gain the most ground... under Democrat or Republican admins? Well lets judge by the evidence, how many BLM protests and large rallies did we see under Trump, thousands, perhaps tens of thousands.. how many have we seen with Biden in charge? Really think about it, how many BLM rallies have you seen with at least 1,000 people attending since Biden took office? On a Tuesday 9 months after an election there would be 10 large BLM rallies across America while Trump was President. Black movements progress more under Republican admins than Democrat admins, it's just a fact. I don't vote Republican b/c I believe they have our best interests in mind or that they "care" more about black people than Democrats, I vote Republican b/c it's the best and only way to advance social movements. Democrats push social movements hard and heavy when Republicans are in power, that's the push we need, they don't push those change movements when they have power... 100% fact.

This was a superb use of language to tell a story and to conceal a story! Those who are not fluent in the southern African American use of English are sure to misunderstand the tone, inflections and many of the phrases used by Mr. Meredith. Mr. Meredith is saying a lot and not saying a lot at the same time. What he is not saying is part of the story: those who have ears can hear it loud and clear. Mr. Meredith reminds me of my grandfather and the old men in our beloved "segregated" neighborhoods. Men who felt that telling a story meant leaving out many, many things that could even remotely cause harm to others. My own great great grandfather "appeared" in North Carolina to attend Shaw University soon after it opened. No one knew his real name or where he came from, not even his wife. We do know that he changed his name. He was not the kind of man you kept asking questions. The grandfather(we all called him "grandpa") of a childhood friend told me about his early life in South Carolina as a sharecropper in 1918. How he had to flee after a shootout that left the son of a wealthy planter dead. Members of his small community collected enough money for him to get out of his small South Carolina town. Mr. Meredith is deeply rooted in his Mississippi African culture. To fully understand him you must understand the people that produced him....the culture. Mr. Meredith takes me back to my childhood when I would hear the old people talk on the front porch..........its like some of the poetry of Paul Lawrence Dunbar.

Because Tavis Smiley was a threat to their Empire...They did not want him to give IDEAS to black folks...to rise...but they are rising...So his CAREER was sabotaged...They do not want LOVE, TRUTH, SPIRITUAL, ETC...in the PUBLIC language...because kings on their mountains will not have a kingdom haven to sit...A Black man has power...if only he realize it and use it wisely...Right Tavis.
