What does the dent in the stem do, help lock the rivet into place? Does it flatten out inside the cap?

Be aware that the acid in real leather will eat through that bobbin thread after a few years.

I would be terrified to try to cut those holes out with scissors after all that work. I have a multi-function press and grommet dies. I'd give that a go over scissors knowing what a klutz I am. This was an amazing upcycle project. Thank you so much!!!

I used a pair of black and a pair of blue jeans given to me by a family member, and made the lining from a thrift store bed sheet. I made mistakes, but it was an inexpensive learning experience. I’m looking to make a duffel bag from 1.5mm chrome tanned leather that’s quite supple. My goal it to add support to the leather to allow it to keep its volume, but still soft enough to cram into a locker. What stabilizer would you recommend in this situation?

And if your machine wont do any stitching ? No problem with fabrick but it wont stich the thin chrome tan leather .

You can also use a roller foot.

Never iron leather. The heat dries the leather out and weakens it, more prone to ripping. Use fabric tape on the seam allowance to prevent stretching

I'm making my 1st sheep skin leather handbag and the straps will have on raw edge and have been looking for methods and products that are best suited for finishing the edges. Your demo with the purple leather is about the same weight as what I'm working with. Glad I came across this video. All others I've seen are with thick veg-tan. 🥰
