Having found a photograph of the above event, I can confirm that it was related to the Queen's Silver Jubilee celebrations in June 1977 at Cookley near Kidderminster, Worcestershire (not a 1978 carnival as I previously thought).

Children from Kinver take part in celebrations (possibly May Day due to the Maypole). I don't have much more information other than it was probably filmed in the mid to late 1930s and may have taken place on land at the back of Foster Street / Stone Lane.

Old cine film scenes of Stourport Yacht Club stopping off on the river Avon near Pershore, Worcestershire. The boats would have been heading from or to Stourport on Severn. These are probably from the early 1950s. Some of the people in the clip include Ken & Gwen Cook, Eric and Doris Corkhill, Vernon Harper and wife. It may be Jim Hunt in the dinghy.

Fabulous film , I have shared this vid onto Kinver past and present Facebook page .
Bless you Rita x
This archive footage looks great. We'd love to add it to our own or use it in a planned documentary for the colliery. Can we get in touch?
Yes,remember it as live steam as a kid in the 1960's.Loved that train,it was black and green then, like the Monopoly train.
Worked there as a volunteer in 1974/75 , can remember Dave Donkin, who is still there ( !!) and a guy nicknamed " Meff".
May Day craziness , again this is pure gold thanks for saving this
Pure gold this film
Is it true the Poole miniature railway is coming to an end? It will be so sad to see it go if it is true!
No it's not
great video , wish there were more on youtube
If only I could tell the videographer that the buildings not the people are more important to film , .
Great footage, must have cost a bob or two back then using colour film.
Fascinating, I thought it might be 9.5 gauge when I noticed a small amount of damage in the centre of the image.
Vanguard was built at Southsea and started it life at Stokes Bay Gosport where it ran from 1949 to 1951 before being moved to Poole Park. www.fortgilkicker.co.uk/pleasure.htm
so lovely to see that i live in poole so have been on that train myself and taken my daughter and now the grankids
Hi, great video of the railway! I'm doing a short documentary of the railway itself for a University project, and I was just wondering if I'd be able to use this footage in the film? I'd give credit to your RUclips channel/the relevant people, of course. Thanks in advance!
Yes that will be no problem. Glad you liked the film.
This locomotive is now in pristine condition and hard at work at Kirby Green. www.davesrailpics.bravehost.com/kirbygreen/kirbygreen2.htm
Well done. Thank you for taking the time and trouble to preserve some of our history. Kinver Edge is one of my favourite walks.
Thanks very much for the information you have provided. Do you have any idea of the exact year?
Yes that's right. Still alive and kicking and nearly 98. By the way, if you look at the"Kinver 1936" video I put on RUclips, your Dad's on that briefly (and so is his Dad).
Hi Derek. These were films of my grandad's. My Nan is your Dad's sister!
The large stone cross looks like St Mary's but I can't be certain.
What was the name of your boat? I'll check with my relatives to see if anyone remembers it.
I thought for one minute there that i might get a glimpse of our boat but sadly it is not on this film, just have to keep looking, but this film does bring back memories of the many happy days spent on our boat.
wow
Glad you both liked the video. It's a shame it's not a longer clip but there is another Hyperion Road film that I added to RUclips where the road is being cleared of snow. I'll drop Terry an email with a bit more info.
I'm Terry Bradley's daughter, Emma. It's great to see where Dad lived as a boy. Thanks for uploading the video!
This video is certainly a blast from the past, I am Terry Bradley, sixty years on, and that car in the drive was my father's Harry Bradley. I knew Alan well. I would love to hear from the author of the video, as he obviously knew me and Alan, I can't imagine who it is. Terrythbrad@gmail.com
Brilliant:-)
@stourportjan1 Thanks for the year and Carnival Queen information. Really appreciate your help and hope you enjoyed the film.
These were 9.5mm cine films of my Grandad's and I borrowed from my uncle to get transferred to DVD before they disintegrated! There are one or two others which feature Kinver briefly and I'll try to get those uploaded soon.
Amazing, where did you get the film from.
