It’s Magic - Frank Sinatra (Radio)

“When we walk hand-in-hand, the world becomes a wonderland, it’s magic” It’s certainly magic, isn’t it? It was written by songwriters Sammy Cahn and Jule Styne in 1947, for Doris Day to sing in her film debut in “Romance on the High Seas”. In fact, the song was nominated an Academy Award for best original song, but lost to “Buttons and Bows” by Jay Livingston and Ray Evans. Anyway, here is Fran...

Sinatra and Swingin’ Brass is very underrated. Neil Hefti called it his preview to the Count Basie Lp. Neil retired from arranging Lp’s saying after Frank and Basie, there’s nowhere to go…

This recording at Apple Records has been almost Mythical. Personally I didn’t think it existed. When in 1964 with the English invasion, Frank didn’t care for these Beatles and “I want to Hold Your Hand.” Latter he put George Harrison’s “Something” near the top of the list as best songs ever written; high praise,. Incredible post…THANK YOU….

Great passage in Vic Damone's memoir about him singing this on the Hit Parade subbing for Sinatra. He talks about singing the lesser-known verse, and having trouble with it :)
