Nice video, does the saw give you a warning when the bar oil is low?

Here is also an Andy from Germany. I do own this makita also love it high use silky saws gumboy and pocketboy saws to the pruning cuts on small branches of fruit trees. So the cuts heal perfect with a finish cut with a high teeth per inch silky hand saw. Perfect combination in my view. I actually hope for a 2*40V Maxx version in the future so the power and chain speed is paid with petrol chain saws. Love my current one but have seen home improvement with Tim Allen way to often to not want to switch to more pooower in the future.

How long do the batteries last? I have a 355 model with 2 5A 18V LBA and they last about 15 minutes before I need to charge again... is that normal?

Hi Andy They have released a model with captive bar nuts. Does the plastic bar tightener feel flimsy? I like the idea of a tool free adjustment, but don't want to be going back for replacement parts if the plastic snaps. Cheers for the review.

Gerald.I have a husqy xp 550 ,had to do some cutting on a job recently .I had both saws .the 550 had a starting issue and killed my back.luckily I had the makita that did most of the work and got me out of trouble.my batterries are at least 6 years old .wondering what a set of new 5 amp batteries would be like . Even more amazing.

I now have 3 sets (2 each set) of 6Ah and 2 sets of 5Ah. I keep an eye eBay and FB market place. I got a set of 5Ah ones the other day for $70 for both, a bargain. The others I got on eBay. Just watch for lowest price. I've tried knock off brands and the never last more than a week. I've always gotten my money back from eBay, but I've stopped trying non-Makita batteries.

George McKnight mine (in Europe) came with Oregon chain - Made in USA and i buyed an 16” bar and chain because in the user manual is writen that is working. And is working very well!!!

I’m using an Archer (Australian) 16" bar and Archer full chisel chain right now to cut firewood from a large pile of mixed hardwood logs larger than 16" diameter that didn't get to the mill. It cuts faster than the stock bar with Oregon anti-kickback chain. I got both bar and chain for $30 free shipping on Ebay (USA). Archer 16", 3/8"LP, .043", 56DL Guide Bar Replaces 164MLEA041 For Husqvarna Saws. Chain: 16" Archer 3/8" LP, .043", 56-DL Saw Chain Replaces 90PX056G, Stihl 61PMM3, H38. I've cut the equivalent of well over 20 full face cords. A lot more fun than messing with a gas saw.

George McKnight My XCU04 came with a 16” Oregon bar and chain. But it’s not obvious that the bar was made by Oregon, with the large “makita” logo it has.

I doubt you will reply now as your comment was 3 years ago. 16" Archer 3/8" LP, .043", 56-DL Saw Chain Replaces 90PX056G - does that mean you replaced the bar as well to fit the replacement chain? The replacement chain was a thicker chain than the 90px stock chain and bar? @@geraldmoore6257
