Energy Policy Now: Rethinking Air Conditioning in a Hotter World
Global air conditioner use could triple by the middle of this century, driving a dramatic increase in electricity demand. This growth will place additional strain on already overburdened electrical grids and lead to significant economic and environmental challenges.
Yet these negative impacts might be substantially reduced if more attention were paid to cooling people, rather than the air around them.
Two experts at the intersection of cooling technology and building design discuss how a paradigm shift in our thinking about how we cool ourselves could make it possible for billions of people to stay comfortable in an increasingly hot world while minimizing additional electricity demand.

The Misunderstood Politics of the Energy Transition
Просмотров 994 месяца назад
Why is the United States struggling to enact policies to reduce carbon emissions? Conventional wisdom holds that the wealthy and powerful are to blame, as the oligarchs and corporations that wield disproportionate sway over politicians prioritize their short-term financial interests over the climate’s long term health. David B. Spence argues that this top-down narrative misses a more important ...

Electricity Bills and Climate Change: Should Energy Hogs Pay More?
Просмотров 719 месяцев назад
Rapidly rising electricity bills in a few states foreshadow the impact of climate change on utility customers everywhere. What costs are driving those bills and what are the options for covering them? Some alternatives focus on distributing these costs according to wealth or income, while others would allocate a greater share to the heaviest electricity consumers, the so-called “energy hogs.” V...

Take this to COP and demand action this year We need a global carbon tax and we need it now. The time for talk, BLA BLA BLA is over The planet is at a tipping point, It can't wait, Time to stand up and make a legend of yourself. Vote as one and please pass this bill Worldwide carbon tax @ 20 % carbon tariff should apply to all greenhouse gas polluters Eg 20 % on a barrel of oil Eg 20 % on a Tn of coal Eg 20 % on a kg of meat Eg 20 % on, a Tn cement produced, Eg 20 % on a Tn Steel produced. Etc. Etc. ETC Carbon tax worldwide Paid to a central carbon fund UNGCF. Administered and regulated by the United Nations Global Carbon Fund. UNGCF fund A 20 %of total sales of greenhouse gas Emitteing, polluters should pay for the mess Creating a yearly fund of 2 trillion dollars 40 GT @ 50$ per tn = 2 trillion per year That is 10 billion per year For 195 countries and territories, SO they can have any chance of reaching their net zero targets and fifty billion for the UNGCF, this will fund all the UN's global, humanitarian projects I am shaw you will all agree, that they deserve this fund and they do a great job for all the planet's occupants 2 trillion per year For 50 years That's 100 trillion dollars to repair climate change. That is less than 2% of the global yearly gross GDP, So we can build and create utility infrastructure for hundreds of years.I can't make it any simpler than that, please Global ambassadors help your people The countries can utilize their funds to build the infrastructure required for a clean green future carbon capture and storage facilities, organic carbon sinks Research and development into CO2 reduction technology Atmospheric reduction strategy ocean reduction strategies The polluters must pay the free ride must end, and everyone should receive, This is a global problem and requires a global solution, all working together as one. Absolutely. T
Thank you for your research. We are fighting these hyperscaler developers in our rural county in Virginia. If they have it their way, they will monopolize our rural and agricultural land as well as our water supply.
Reducing energy is a shrinkflation tactic that's causing inflation, especially with oil.. the us should use 3 to 4 times as much oil because it shows economic growth and strengthens the dollar, starving tiny and mini foreign dollar devalues to kwashiokor proportions.
This was a succinct and well illustrated video. Thank you!!!
Yes and we need serious research NOW
Thoughts on how the “new”(some people and Harvard and mit rediscovered the use of quick lime and believe it to be the one of the reasons Roman architecture has stood for so long I suggest checking it out) discovery of using quick lime in concrete could effect this? Maybe it would be better for put concrete to just last much longer than lowering the production emissions?
Know anywhere that talks about these terms in a simpler way so I can understand what they are talking about I think I get the main ideas but it is like listening to another language that is almost the same as yours you get the main point but the details are blurry thanks.
