Mini Cooper S R56 in tank fuel pump fuel level sending unit replacement
I replaced a fuel level sending unit in this fuel pump.
The incorrect fuel reading for the good part of last year-time to change.
Unfortunately, I broke off the plastic attached to the fuel hose.
As an emergency measure, I glued it back together, hoping it would last.
Result:
It did last for about three months. The car stopped in the middle of the road, had to replace the pump with the one I had in my trunk.

BMW E39 530d EGR thermostat change PROBLEM FIXED No need to change the engine thermostat
Просмотров 11 тыс.4 года назад
I changed the EGR thermostat, which solved the engine not reaching the operatimig temp issue. Now it heats up and runs great! Diesel consumption is 7.0l per 100km combined!
It is a bit of a nightmare to access the two brackets on the regulator that hold and move the great glass. Thanks for your effort in showing all of this.
wait I don't get how you can move down the window with switch,so whats the problem actually?
suena a culataaa el bmw
Dude, I want to thank you for the video, & thanks for not cutting corners, I had the same problem and I solve it in record time, thanks a lot.
i have the same on my mini havent been able to solve it yet what was the problem on yours ?
Hi, corroded wires at one of the connectors; I ended up removing connectors and soldering wires
Don’t waist your time , there is nothing good in this video , he didn’t even finish work
Luftar man bromssystemet efteråt med tanke på att man drar ut slangen från vakuumpumpen?
I have grey liquid running out of egr thermostat what is that?
Du har större problem än termostaten.. den låter ju illa som fan i motorn 😮😮
Did you bleed the air out of the system after changing the thermostat?
Nope, it is done automatically, I believe. It might be the wrong check if there is a bleeding plastic screw next to your plastic tank on the radiator.
lol the engine sound on the end, when started... knock,knock... Whos there? Crankshaft Beng Beng... 😆😆
Just changed my on my 525d and now i have coolant everywhere in engine bay. Do you havr any idea what might happend? Cheers
Hi Andrei, have you checked the seals? It should be relatively straightforward if we are talking about the EGR thermostat. Regards, Nermin
make sure to purchase the o-ring together with the thermostat, it is sold separetly.
Mine is a 2006 e60 520d m47tud2 reach 68 C° to low and caussing it to minimum use 9l/100km. Will this emplacement make it better ...or do you have any idea
Hi Zoe, it is definitely worth a try. That is if your engine has a dual thermostat option. I would first check if there is an EGR thermostat and than go ahead and change it. In my experience it is far easier to change than the engine thermostat.
@@nerminmehmedic4815 thanks i will also change o2 sensor bank 1 . Thanks for feedback i know a lot of secrets about e60 .... you have aux connection? I know a trick
You are welcome! No aux connection, still let me know your aux secrets who knows when they come handy :)
@@nerminmehmedic4815 there is a limiter placed in the aux connector just remove it and your mp4 music will sound so much better .tip 1 :-)
My engine was only reaching 65c in normal driving so I changed the main thermostat, now it reaches 75c (after a LONG time) but that is still too cold, it should be 88c. Do I need to change this thermostat as well?
I would definitely suggest that. Sorry for the late reply!
Mine does the same its the egr thermostaat easy fix .also check o2sensor bank 1
I have 530d 193hp automatic and with normal driving fuel consuption is like 12-13 l per 100km with aggresive driving like 15-16 l per 100km, i saw in the comments saying that this thermostat can get the consumption up, i think mine is leaking, could it be the problem for the high consumption? People have also told me it could be because of fuel filter, can you give me opinion if it could be one of the two reasons or both of them.
Hi Nikolay, I would say that 15-16 even for an aggressive driving is way too high. Thermostat issue would cause up to 2l higher fuel consumption. Your problem is something else. Regards
LOL, mine takes 6-8 Liter.... DUDE 12- 13 Liter Diesel. Change all Thermostats and also, Check the Injector+ Lambda
Hur många mil hade den gått vid tillfället?
23000
What's that loud tapping noise? Mine does it too, but not on idle, just when the engine is revved.
I suspect a cam bearing gone bad. I cannot tell before opening up the engine.
could be sensor related first diagnose it with obd2 tool . I use autophix it does everything for bmw s
Bad Sensors can cause tapping. Or could its the timing chain
What were your initial problems? I have the same engine in an e39 and mine doesn’t reach its optimal temperature or when it does, it takes about 20-30 km
Hi. Same as you described. It would not reach the optimal running temperature. After half hour drive it would come up to 80/85. On the open road it would drop to 70.
Some Car Guy In Sweden Now I am completely convinced that I need to replace the part. Dealer was closed today so couldn’t fix it today. My fuel consumption was rubbish (1:13,5 with 80% driving at a max of 100) this week even though my bc said something else (1:15). Do you think that the lower temperature could cause this?
Yme lower engine working temperature in my case case caused 1 liter per 100km increase. In your case 13.8 sounds like you have another issue. In my case changing the EGR thermostat has fixed the engine optimal working temperature, it doesn’t mean it will fix your issue the same way. Keep in mind there is an engine thermostat in 3.0d as well. That thermostat (engine) might be causing the issue as well. EGR thermo is way easier to replace, as you can see on my video, so you might start with that. Finally changing both of the thermostats will not fix 13.8 fuel consumption, it will fix the engine optimal temperature issue ( engine temperature needle not in the middle issue). Hope this helps. Best, Nermin
Some Car Guy In Sweden I understand. It’s not 100km 13.5 liter but 1 liter 13.5. Normaal when driving most of the time 120/150. But I’m driving most of the time 100kph. I’ll replace the item next weekend and then I will see if it was my fix
Aha! Cool, sounds like a plan. Best of luck. /N
Thanks! You’re the first to say that.
