Can you clean a clogged Catalytic Converter?? | 2006 Kia Sorento
Ya forgot to connect the negative back to the battery. 😅
I took it off and popped it back in but I’m stuck at replacing the tension bolt I think is what it’s called? Does the longer horizontal bolt touch the belt? Is that how it tightens the belt?
Punch out the catalyst then reinsall you will get better performance. Put spacers on the downstream O2 sensor so you don’t get the check engine. FYI It will not pass an emissions test.
No intake gasket change?
Thanks buddy my doors are not locking or opening. Some lights don't work😂 thank s
You didn’t need an 8 foot pry bar for anybody thinking about doing this put load on the upper control arm by jacking up the lower or loosen the upper mount bolts to relieve the tension. Unless you have polyurethane bushings on the UCA you will need to torque them down when the vehicle/arms are in their loaded position.
Thanks man!
Having the same problem… thanks
I know this video is 2 years old warning to anyone that is going to try to do this be carful for me the initial bolt was to tight and snapped in half
Doesn't look bad, but I've got way more rust on my 2008 so I'll keep my fingers crossed. I had a dragging brake from a hose that collapsed and the rotor got red hot like tail lights a couple times, having to throw a gallon of water on it to keep from bursting into flames. I imagine I cooked the grease out of the bearing because now it runs hot, 7 seconds touch of the lug nuts after 20 miles and you're gonna say ouch. Sucks it happened but it does have 414,000 miles on it. I would suggest boards for footings under your jack stand legs on such soft ground, just big enough to reduce the PSI so the stand doesn't go right into the ground when needed.
Replacing the tension idlers and belt all together would’ve been your best bet. Take the motor mount out allows you to raise & lower the engine giving more access to the tensioner and its mounting bolt. Huge pita for a serpentine belt. Good on you for powering through and completing the job.
Nice work. Here I was hoping a couple guys with a wrench could replace my chewed belt no problem... Well, this is way better than the drawing board-- thanks.
Hi, you have done some great work! What are the rims you have on the car, they look nice?..
@@oprov46 I don't know, they came with the car.
@@endeavorautorepair - thanks anyway, they remind me of Alfa Romeo rims... I have the same Subaru on the steel factory wheels and I can't find something that catches my eye, although there is plenty of aftermarket cool looking ones but I'm cheap 🤣...
What size Engine
7 hp Duromax engine
I just did it with your video! You’re awesome! Thanks so much!!! Super helpful.
thanks for the video. to the point and it solved the issue on my 2005 Sienna.
This is the best tutorial on how to do this on youtube. Just did it based off your video and it was flawless.
is that the same sensor position for autonatic mazda 3 2008? and can you pls give provide the new oxygen sensor product code as i planned to replace it my self after watching your video, more power keep on doing videos like this. thank you
Thanks to your instructions I did it I changed out the Subaru starter I'm a 66 year old woman😅 probably didn't take most people 4 1/2 hours though😂
You did really really good job :)
Thank you!! Excellent instructions!!
Great video. Imma do the ball joints on my 2006 e350
Thank you so much for this series! I just swapped out the dying TR580 in my 2014 Forester and followed your videos step by step. I watched the videos a couple of times and then printed the transcripts out to use as a checklist. The swap was a success, and the 'new' transmission makes the car feel like new again! As a quick note for those who do a transmission re-learning procedure using a scan tool after a swap like this... My first couple of tries failed because I didn't lift the car up so that all four wheels were in the air before running the procedure. Also, the emergency brake needs to be on during the process, and mine was a little loose, so I tightened the cable up (super quick and easy to do -- search YT if you don't know how). Once I did these things the scan tool completed the re-learning without issue. Thanks again for all the effort you took to film each step of the process. I ran the old tranny for just over 20k with it ticking. Eventually, the ticking became louder to the point that the car was getting looks whenever I'd pull into a parking lot, so it was time to swap it out. I'm super pleased with the results and have your video series to thank for it!
I might be a Kia Spectra homer, but they are GREAT cars. I have owned 1 Spectra5 and 3 Spectras. All with the 2.0 engine, all with manual transmission. I have taught all my kids how to drive manual on these cars. I just find them fun to drive, great on gas, and my kids could not text and drive ;) Nice video and good job
Use a 3d Manuel clutch that they make for go karts
Nice video, I had a pit arm replaced and ider arm replaced and a power steering gear box replaced and power steering hoses replaced. I spent 1600.00 on 1999 chevrolet suburban k1500 LT. She still needs work on it.
Video=Perfection Well done,young man!
Helped me and my dad, thanks so much! Including the belt diagram was amazingly helpful too👌
Just what i was looking for thank you......
I'm curious, is this an Interference engine or a Non-interference?
My radiator is still attached to the other radiator.
You’re a bit of a mad scientist! You should go to college to be an engineer. Very impressive young man!
What size was the axel nut
Bro glad i came across this. But my boy just gave me his boat for free with a rebuilt motor.
Update: My fuses looked good, so I wanted to see if the headlights were working. No, they weren't but after working the switch off and on several times, the lights started to work, and now it cranks. Go figure, lol. Apparently, the headlight switch is tied into the ignition somehow. Thanks for the video.
Makes since about the bad charging system. Got to go double check my fuses, this happened to me, but when I kick start it, it runs fine. Right in the middle of starting it, it just quit and lights went out.
How do you separate the outboard and the motor or does it just slide in and out
Onc you remove the nuts and or bolts it slides out. Either the engine or the outboard side.
Where did you buy the CVT?
I got one at U Pull It Auto Parts in Yakima. Despite the name, we didn't have to pull it ourselves
Do you have a key fob for you 1998 Siena?
That was a customers vehicle. I don't remember if it had one.
@@endeavorautorepair I was able to add a key fob to my 98 Sienna ! Thank you.
I can’t get belts back tightened
What happens when you tighten the tensioner bolt?
Where is the bolt located?
2:27 in the video
Haha
Where can you find the wiring diagrams for the celica? i’m trying to fix why my fuel gauge isn’t reading
I have free access to the Chilton/Hanes library through NCWL (North Central Washington Libraries). Otherwise you can often find repair manuals on tradebit and similar websites. Be careful that you don't download viruses though.
Those wine unless you use toyota atf, not regular fluid.
I used Dextron III
Did you replace the filter?
@@neumansown the filter was added recently and still has good flow.
@@endeavorautorepair theyre just like that. They like the atf. I did it on 2 toyotas, and the wine went away. I had to flush all the autozone stuff out.
No parts required!
What is the point of the resistor? Usually I just use an inductive clamp and pull fuses one at a time until the draw drops below 50ma.
That's for those of us who don't have an inductive clamp. You can put the resistor so that not all the current has to pass through the meter.
I've worked on cars for a long time and I've never thought of this or seen anyone else do this.. This is an amazing tip! Thank you for sharing!
hell yeah
Tensioner bolt
It was actually one of the bolts holding the backing plate on
This was a hard work to find faulty part. Based on this video and hints of others I created video instructions. Keywords on RUclips "Toyota Sienna. Dome lights and doors controls stopped working. Integration Relay Replacement" ruclips.net/video/RVh4Lxr0f8I/видео.html&lc=UgwVP60rDHzYaf06dfV4AaABAg
Fantastic video series! Clear, concise and step by step. Good job.
Awesome. Great video. Very easy to understand.
