I saw this film at a theater with my older brother in 1967. It was quite a film for a 12-year old Bronx Italian kid. In 1968, they instituted the ratings system. They re-released In the Heat of the Night in 1969. I couldn't go see it. It was rated R.

It's Logan the Wolf (Norse) and not Logan the Wolverine (Canadian). There are no wolverines in Europe, only in Canada and Russia. This is why the ritual at the beginning is to Fenrir, a wolf diety in Norse mythology. Also, the claws are bone. If you go to the director's RUclips channel, he explained that he didn't like the shape of the bone claws in the MCU, they looked like sticks to him.

An absolute jewel is a film, especially for an accomplished black man.

I absolutely love Day of the dead and Zombie flesh eaters or City of the living dead, but this is the godfather of this genre.

By the way, the Chinese Room just released a new game called Still Wakes the Deep. And while it’s also a horror game that feels on rails, from what I’ve seen, it’s a hundred times better than Machine for Pigs.

Yeah alien 3 especially the assembly cut is awesome. Great change of pace and love how dark it is. Resurrection is a little too goofy for me but I think it would have worked better as a spinoff or parody. 👍🔥

Your comments are somewhat correct, but you also need to understand the background of Chief Gillespie. This is the 1960s, if you haven't lived during that time you would have to have seen it to understand it.

nice one man, I've seen this film countless times as one of my faves and your funny/laidback style made this a great watch - you also made a lot of good points about some of the filmmaking choices and the reality of the scenes and characters and motivations, etc. the Peter skills summation scene was great: "he knows a lot of shit... how to shoot, how to do abortions, and using power tools" - good stuff 🙂
