A great series to follow along with. Agreed with thinking the humor of Community was better, but hot damn there are no real misses for The Good Place. Two of my favorite shows for sure. The series finale of The Good Place is one of the best for a series, period. It is so hard to wrap up a show with fan service and heart and proper goodbyes all in one final attempt, and this show does damn well with it.

i meant to write this under part 1 but the two philosophers in Chidi's class are actual philosophers the guy, Todd May's book "Death" is referenced in season 2 (the existential crisis episode iirc) edit: i agree that Janet should have gotten a better arc in the finale but I've always loved Mindy's character and seeing her pop up in the last few minutes of the show always warms my heart since she (and the Medium Place in general) was so important and memorable in the first two seasons, even in the first half of season 4. i really liked that they spent a good chunk of time on her character because she really is the perfect parallel for who Eleanor used to be on Earth...and Eleanor is the one who shows up for her in the end, giving Eleanor more to her internal peace arc of the second half of the episode without Chidi, to me it's kind of like Eleanor's funeral to end all funerals of her past self.

An amazing series finale... one of the best out there. The chemistry between multiple sets of characters is too good. Thank you both for the efforts and time you put into these as well. Always appreciated. Take it sleazy.

My vote is definitely Ghibli because I haven't seen as many as I'd like and I'd love to do a watch along, but it seems Ghibli does not have the votes

Great episode of a show television show. Their endings were very satisfactory despite the sadness felt. The chemistry of some of these pairings is simply fantastic.

If you two wanna review another show with something like the trolley problem where you have to choose between several BAD choices, watch Torchwood: Children of Earth. 5 episodes that are devastating and heartwrenching to watch.

Just discovered this podcast, rewatched all of the good place recently and wow it is one of the best shows of all time

I feel the A's and B's were covered by the both of you. I feel the reason without actually knowing you at all, for the talking over would be as the host, you control and keep the show on pace and feel it is your responsibility and thus act so by allowing no "dead air". I don't feel it is noticed or bad at all as the vibes and chemistry you two have and relationship covers over it very well. Another positive, is the noticeable level of happiness, comfort and confidence you(Zach) bring as the host. Not sure if it is just the experience or extra work you took on for this passion of yours but it is noticeable. Hope good fortunes for you both and look forward to seeing the continued growth of the podcast and two behind it.

Surprisingly, as long as the timestamp shows, this recap moves along nicely.

In my college screen writing class we had to write spec scripts for existing shows and I wrote a scene for if there was an episode in between this one and the finale but honestly I couldn't ask for a better penultimate episode

Great Vicky episode. Vicky has arguably the best background archs from season 1 to where she is now. Always a go getter! Also, did spend a ton of time in a cocoon as well as as goo and still leaves a mark.

Another great episode and recap. I can completely see where Steven is coming from for the combing of this episode with the next 2 into 2 of them. However, I think this one does just enough and next weeks with the young Chidi, that I am not sure of what to cut out without making them 40min episodes. Kristen does great with the directing, especially some of the background noise while you are front focused.

This is one of my favorite episodes I had no idea Kristen Bell directed it, that's so cool
