Hi there, for outlining the letters in a different color- you can make the single crochet before and after the bobble in a different color - For example for the letter A, if your main color is x and outline color is y then for the row 5 your pattern would be 2sc in color x - change color to y | 1 sc in color y - change to color x | 1bob in color x - change to color y | 1sc in color y - change to color x | 3sc in color x - change to color y | 1 sc in color y - change to color x | 1bob in color x - change to color y | 1 sc in color y - change to color x | 2sc and similarly you can do other rows as well. Also remember to follow the color code in the even rows which are single crochets only - you will have to make sc in color x over the sc in color x from previous row and sc in color y over the sc in color y from previous row. Hey hi, thanks for bringing this to my attention - please follow the video instructions, I have indeed made a typo in the written instructions. You can verify the pattern from my blog as well - this pattern is at blog.yarnoculous.com/sweet-dreams-crochet-baby-blanket/ and it has the row-by-row instructions. However the correct pattern for rows 110-115 should be as follows : Row 110, 111, 112, 113, 114 : ch1 & turn | 130 sc in orange (for Row 110 - you can either make all single crochets in orange or you can follow the color scheme of the previous row which will be ch1 & turn | 25sc in orange | 79sc in pink | 26sc in orange - both will give you the same effect) - from Row 115 onwards start repeating Row 3 as mentioned in the video and my blog. I’m so glad I found this question!! When I got to 129 I thought I dropped a stitch so I added one and now nothing lines up 😢. Pulling out a few rows lol!

@ValerieSeigeldorf : Hey hi - you are almost right - for Row 43 - you should get 25 stitches in orange, 79 in green and then 26 stitches in orange for a total of 130 stitches - at the end of the row you should get 4sc instead of 3sc - so you are right all the way - just make one more single crochet in the end, ch1 and turn and continue with row 44. Yes I am also struggling with row 43 because in your video you say 25 sc in orange for both ends .

Could this be because I am left handed?

I am afraid that's the reason - if you are left-handed you need to follow the pattern in reverse order - start from the last stitch and keep coming back - that will make your alphabets straight. I have the free pattern and graph for this blanket on my blog at blog.yarnoculous.com/sweet-dreams-crochet-baby-blanket/ - reading the pattern from the graph might make it easier to follow. Read the graph right to left for every row and it should give you the letters as intended.

Hey hi - the pattern for row 69 is ch 1 & turn | 6sc | 1bob | 7sc | 1bob | 3sc | 1bob | 7sc | 1bob | 7sc | 1bob | 1sc | 1bob | 1sc | 1bob | 7sc | 1bob | 7sc | 1bob | 11sc | 1bob | 11sc | 1bob | 7sc | 1bob | 7sc | 1bob | 11sc | 1bob | 6sc ---- I think you missed a 7sc somewhere in the middle - this adds up to a 113 stitches - that's how many you should get on every row. Let me know if something is still not right. :) :)

My entire blanket came to be around 39 inch(length) x 27 inch (width) - so the height of each hexagon is about 6.5 inches - if you consider just the alphabet it would be around 5.8 inches. Hey hi, yes it can be a sc as well - I just felt that if I don't do the two bobbles there might be empty space which might distort the alphabet but now that I revisited the pattern, I think it would be safe enough to put a sc there. Thanks for highlighting this. Happy crocheting. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

That's correct - once you are done with the words you can cut-off the yarn and weave it in - for example on row 77 pattern is ch1 & turn | 25sc in orange | 79sc in green | 26sc in orange - so once you are done with 79 sc in green and change over to orange, you can cut off the green colored yarn and weave it in since we use pink and orange from next row onwards. Same goes for Row 109 - ch1 & turn | 3sc | (1bob | 1sc) x 9 | 1bob | 3sc | change color to pink - 79sc | change color to orange - 3sc | (1bob | 1sc) x 9 | 1bob | 4sc - once you are done with 79 sc in pink you can cut off and weave-in the pink yarn and rest of the top rows are done in orange only. Hey hi, welcome to yarnoculous and I am so excited for you to try out this blanket - its totally up to you if you wish to make 2 rows or 4 - for my blanket I thought 4 rows (2 each of blue and grey) enhances the letter so I went with 4 but you can surely go with 2 rows - just make sure that you make the same number of rows in the same color on every block so in the end when you stitch the blocks together they look uniform.
