What happened when they asked for your £74 ticket for the use of the observation car?
Nothing. I have a pass.
Καταπληκτικοί! Δεν μπορείτε να διδάξετε και τους αρμοδίους των Ελληνικών Σιδηροδρόμων πως θα πρέπει να τηρούν τη σιδηροδρομική γραμμή Βόλου - Μηλεών στο Πήλιο ώστε να παρέχουν έναν ελκυστικό σιδηρόδρομο για τους επισκέπτες και τους τουρίστες;
I don’t remember the station being alongside two blocks of flats when I went to Criccieth!!
Glorious bowling green!! Love it!!
Yes. So flat. Tony
I remember a rather interesting looking castle overlooking the beach and the sea. My first thought was that it was a wonderful location for it.
I hope to return to Criccieth next year, when I have a small camper. This year, my holiday will be to Somerset and Dorset.
It’s lovely to walk by the sea, and that’s exactly what I did in Criccieth on the occasion I visited the village. The only thing I didn’t find was a market to make it a town.
@@Madonsteamrailways market twice a year!!!! By charter!!!
I took the train from Criccieth to Porthmadog several years ago and really enjoyed the train trip.
@@Madonsteamrailways thanks for watching
Gorgeous location, Criccieth!! Lovely little place!! I can remember the old wooden boat being used as a planter just by the sea!!
@@Madonsteamrailways thankyou
Do you have a Tardis? Today is the 21st so you are a bit early for a walk on the 24th. 😄
@johneshort ha. I think it was a typo. Fat hands syndrome.
I'm not sure of that route. I may do another walk next week. Hope you are well.
Walked from T y G up past Stewlan dam over Moelwyns to Croesor in 1970 with 2 pals. Memorable day, sadly they’ve both passed on now. Mind you I was 29 then!
Some good memories there for you to treasure! Thanks for sharing. 😊❣
Thankyou.
The ironic thing was he wasn't even filmed. He was in a caravan sitting on the step. I think he was joking to be fair.
Whatever your eyes can see in public, it is within your lawful right to film! that man should have turned his back if did not want to be filmed!..thankyou for video. I last went there to watch Eddie Kidd do a motorbike stunt during the eighties!
@31:03 Do you know what those many posts in the field are for?..lovely walk as always, Thankyou! ...Update: its ok, you just answered my question nearing the end of the video, I should have waited!
Ha. Lol. I think it was some leveling up fund the council got.
Oh..that opening shot across the harbour at Port and the Moelwyns and Cnicht in the distance……what memories that brings back over more than half a century of visits from Nottinghamshire…..!
Yes. And not one person. I was to tired to do the walk really. Had a long day in work.
Wow all the work building those walls
Looks like you had a very satisfying afternoon Tony
Hello. Yes, and college work later in at 9pm tonight. Hope you are well.
@@tonyjones9442 thanks, recovering well after surgery. College work? Nosey old me, what are you studying?
@peterhunt2723 it's OK. I've done a health and nutrition course, mental health awarness course and a substance missuse course. A level equivalent. Quite depressing subjects really. I do work in that field but I'm doing them to keep my mind active rather than a career goal. I started off in Cinemas as a projectionist. I still remember how to de construct a cinema projector. I'm just looking on OS website now for walks etc. Cwm dwr oer area of Beddgelert.
@@tonyjones9442 well good for you. Mental exercise is a great thing to continue with. At 83 I try to be mentally active but I tend to do it by writing these days.
I sincerely hope to visit Porthmadog again in the next couple of years. Sadly, it won’t be this year as I’ve already booked my trip for this year.
Yes. Lovely and warm here today.
Is that gorgeous locomotive a Double Fairleigh? If so, it’s one of my favourite steam locomotives.
Yes
You are watching my favourite railway again Tony!
I’m really enjoying this video!! It’s filmed in some of the most beautiful countryside I’ve ever seen. It’s lovely to see such perfect beauty.
I was born very near to here. Next village, or was a village, of Penrhosgarnedd. Are you in Kent? Or am I thinking of Maldon?
And how many miles have you walked when you get to the Menai Strait?
From where I cross the busy road, about half a mile. You can wee it in some parts of the video.
As I asked at the beginning of my conversation, are the footpaths partly on the route of an old disused railway? Some of them look very much like they are.
Hello. I don't see the first question. Yes, the very first scene is the old bangor to caernarfon line. I remember some of the rails down. I was a boy in early 80s
What a gorgeous route you’re taking!! But there again, I have been to North Wales many times and adore the place.
That looks just like a disused railway converted to a footpath. Am I right?
Cymru am byth!💚
A prif Dinas yn gogledd cymru!!!
I`m going to say the Llanberis line?🤔🙃
I thought that as my family is from Llanberis but apparently its not.
There used to be a slope full of more shops leading down steps to a further shopping centre, its been blocked off I see by King of trainers JD shop, sad but thats progress I suppose.
I remember them. Britannoa building society and a guitar shop
I liked the No stupid people beyond this point sign!
That's why I didn't go in!!!
@@tonyjones9442 Stop bringing yourself down, definitely not stupid at all!
@@sharonjojo I know.lol
Thank you! This brought back happy memories. We spent many an hour browsing Stermat Hardware in yesteryear. We had a static caravan in Benllech then moved to Red Wharf Bay. Beautiful.
nice walk, friend 137!
Thank-you.
Thankyou.
Still nice + quiet out on your walk, thanks for the Traipse about. All the best from Old Colwyn.
Thank-you
What a glorious locomotive!! It’s a locomotive from the Republic of South Africa, isn’t it?!!
I think so.
Was this one planned? Shopped in Penrhyndeudraeth a good few times since 1969! Good walk. Are you resident in PORT now? nosey old me!
Yes. I live in Porthmadog. I'm from a welsh /Nant Peris/Bangor family though.
@@tonyjones9442 Tony, I seem to remember that on one of your previous walks you went past yours parents home. I have great memories of Port and surrounding areas which have been part of our lives for us for well over 50 years, my parents were also fond of the area. Looking forward to your next jaunt. Regards Peter
@peterhunt2723 hello, morecvideos up later of Anglsey and the Benllech line.
@@tonyjones9442 looking forward!
Thankyou. It's mainly azwalking or vlog channel but I live near the station so I occasionally do some FR filming.
You certainly chose a very windy day to get this video footage!! Well seen and well done!!
Reply above. It went there for some reason. Llewelyn.
Fantastic set of videos. Great to hear Di and Ian.
Hello. Yes, I hadn't intended to do the walk I just saw the bus from my window and decided to catch the next one to Penrhyn. Pleased you liked it.
Lying in bed after surgery some days ago I have been going through your jaunts with great pleasure, I am watching this one with particular interest as my wife and I have followed these routes for countless times over the years, it’s a good way from our home near Nottingham but I can feel myself walking with you. Thanks!
First went through Criccieth on way to Penrhos in 1969. If memory serves me correctly there was still a Polish village in Penrhos then.
Yes. Polish village is still there just. The runway is now the caravan park. It was a secondary airport to RAF hells mouth.
@@tonyjones9442thanks for reminding me about the airfield Tony
@peterhunt2723 a Wellington bomber landed there and it was too big to take off!! They had to get a specialist pilot to take the risk to get it airborne. I love anything to do with planes. My grandfather was in the RAF in India. There's an interview with him on my RUclips channel about his time on the famous Windrush ship.
@@tonyjones9442 planes interest me too but not quite so much as railways. My first flight was 1958, Heathrow, Paris, Rome , Malta then on to Tripoli!
@peterhunt2723 I can beat that. I went to the Falklands on an RaF plane. TRIPOLI sounds interesting. I imagine it was still Italian then?
Ian and I met just the once, I am also an FR enthusiast!
I'm a life member too. Im interested in trains as a form of transport really. There will be another video up later. I did own a model steam engine once. A mamod. It was quite involved getting the 8mm film from the dvd it had been converted too. I had to take the file from the DVD and do several conversations then edit it, and reframe it. Plus upload it. Bit of a long drag really. Bit of a learning curve yesterday.
@@tonyjones9442 I first rode the FR in 1961, it’s changed a bit.,
@@peterhunt2723 I was minus 16 in 1961!!!
@@tonyjones9442 ha ha! Introduced my wife to FR in1969 we have ridden countless times, last was 2022 the drive from Nottingham is a bit much for me now!

Thank you.
Pant y Rhedyn was my old school 65 years ago! The granite emitting radiation didn’t cause me any harm! - well not yet! Great memories thanks.
Nor me!!! I've lived in Granite houses most of my life!
why is the uk always tweakin bruh💀
What is tweaking?
there were pound bakeries in the Midlands but they all seem to have closed.
I think they used to be Sayers.

Great video to start at Aber glaslyn pass, Always a favourite walk from Beddgelert Forest camp d back around the riverside walk down the old railway track to the village stock up with snack's and walk through the tunnels and spend the afternoon in the river by bryn y felin girder bridge,. thought you would have shown pitt's head rock , next to the railway bridge . Eric jone's cafe visit was, dissapointing to what it once was , no human talking , just a self service machine, alway's used to chat with eric ,before he retired. A good bike ride from the forest camp at beddgelert to Caernarfon then get the train back up to rhyd ddu. put the bikes in the open trucks
