Why should YOU do a TRACK SESSION?
Просмотров 21521 день назад
A key element to getting a shiny PB is doing speedwork. And where better to do that than on the 400m oval of rubber that runners like to call their second home. However, track running can be intimidating, so here's a beginner's guide of how to get started with track sessions and even an example of one to get you started! Enjoy. ⬛️Instagram: @johnhinton_runs 🟧Strava: www.strava.com/athletes/5467...

The Best PARKRUN in the UK?? (It has a zipwire!!)
Просмотров 862 месяца назад
There are hundreds of parkruns to choose from in the UK, and this week I went to the one that I think is the best. What more could you want than great views, free entry to one of the country's most stunning attraction AND a finish line right next to the café? I am of course talking about Eden Project parkrun. In this video I take you round and even get to try out the famous zip line - and you c...

ON CLOUDMONSTER First Impressions! + Fulwell Quarry PARKRUN!

I've wanted to get my hands on this shoe for quite a while, and it's finally happened. It's the On Cloudmonster, a max cushioned daily trainer from On Running. While it has had an update with the Cloudmonster 2, I think this shoe is still relevant in 2024. I also visited Fulwell Quarry parkrun to give it a little test - enjoy! ⬛️Instagram: @johnhinton_runs 🟧Strava: www.strava.com/athletes/54671707
First SESSION Back + COROS Heart Rate Monitor (REVIEW)

The injury era is (hopefully) over and a few weeks ago I did my first session post-injury. It's only a little one, but it's a step in the right direction. I also took this opportunity to review the COROS Heart Rate Monitor, which I've used in a lot of sessions. Enjoy! ⬛️Instagram: @johnhinton_runs 🟧Strava: www.strava.com/athletes/54671707

I Ran a Beer Mile!
Просмотров 2175 месяцев назад
There's the 100m sprint, the famed 5k, and the beast that is the marathon - but what event is everyone most scared of? It may just be this - the beer mile. Four beers, four laps, and a high risk of vomit. I took on this challenge with my club and filmed the entire thing! Enjoy! ⬛️Instagram: @johnhinton_runs 🟧Strava: www.strava.com/athletes/54671707
INJURY UPDATE!! + Wallaceneuk parkrun
Просмотров 1746 месяцев назад
Well.. I haven't been running for a while... but what have I been doing? Well sitting on a bike a lot is the answer - in this video I share what I've been doing with cross training and recovery, and also share some previously unreleased footage of a very muddy parkrun I took on in Scotland. It's a bit scrappy, but I'm sure normal content will resume soon... Enjoy! ⬛️Instagram: @johnhinton_runs ...
I went on a RUNNING trip to PORTUGAL!! #nuaxc
Просмотров 2376 месяцев назад
This video has been a long time coming!! Despite my injury, I headed out to Portugal with my uni club, for a week of warm weather training in the glorious sunshine of the Algarve. Although I was mainly focused on having a good time, and returning with two working shins, here's the culmination of some footage I managed to get. Hopefully it vaguely conveys the amount of fun we had. A huge thanks ...

Yay, hello speedcuber! ✌🏼
Nice video
What coros watch can you download music to? Also does it give voice commands like the garmin watch do?
All of the current Coros watches you can download music to (pace 3 / apex etc.). I don’t believe any have voice commands though.
👌🏻
Hi: Nice video, can you share a link of the site or store to purchase. In the US, we don’t have this colorway. Many thanks

That’s a cracking video John, well done 👏
cheers guys!
just made a documentary on this parkrun nice video
well done!!!
Really enjoyed this video and many of your others mate! It was my first time at the GNR and all I can say is I’m praying I get in next year! I’ve recently discovered High Carb Health, who specialise in helping people heal naturally from IBD. They have helped me a huge amount with my running but also my everyday life as my Crohn’s is more or less non existent now. Defo worth a look into :) (sorry if this comes across as patronising, it certainly isn’t meant that way.) As I’m sure you know, Crohn’s Disease can be brutal. The fact that you’re able to run a half marathon with it is awesome. Well done 🤛🏻
Don’t worry, more than happy for any advice!! Thanks, I’ll give it a look.
Love your enthusiasm at the start of the race!! Congrats on your run, shame the weather wasn't quite the best!
It certainly was a soggy day. Well done 👌
I didn't think I'd be running at 7 min mile pace but I somehow got over excited and found some energy for do the last mile at 7:11...Was a great day out again. Just for point of reference, I'm in my late 50s and still can comfortably get in under 2 hours. So you can keep don't this for another 30 years if you want.
I’ll get back to you after the 2054 GNR video comes out!!
@@johnhinton_runs I'll keep an eye out for you as I watch from the comfort of a high backed arm chair.
I remember you running past me just on the last mile well done!
Great work mate, really nice video 😎👏
Great video John
My two cents: I ran it, I loved it but there were just too many people imo. Having to wait in constant drizzle at the (Green) Start Wave Area for ninety minutes is not fun. As I neared the end, I had to work my way around hundreds of people walking four-a-breast up the hill. I guess if one were an Orange Wave runner you'd miss all that. Approx. 60,000 is too many for the course imv.
yeah interesting point, I don’t envy the organisation for a race like that though!
Incredible time, loved watching your vlog. I was a volunteer at leazes parkrun then in the pink wave so probably had only just started when you’d finished 🤣
Well, if you didn't have social anxiety or fear of crowds at the start, then I'm sure 60,000 people around you didn't help. Glad to see this years GNR was better overall (despite the rain) than 2023....I look forward to my annual rejection email for the GNR.
Great video John & such an epic performance from both of you during the race, well done on that time 😁👍🏻
Well done John. The two of you made it look like a walk in the park.🏃♂️🏃♂️
Happy belated birthday! Agree with tip 17, I love spectating almost as much as I love taking part in running events. It's always super inspiring to watch runners give their all and to cheer them on.
The bits on top of the hills in Dartmoor looked glorious. I may be a bit odd, but when the weather is horrid, gold, wet windy and you’re out there is the most alive I feel. Ps remember this video on your 60th birthday 😂🎉
no sweat elite on the recommended running channels list feels personal
Nothing beats Blyth Links or Newbiggin Parkrun :P Spent a few years working in Plymouth, wish I had visited the eden project (not just for the park run) looks pretty interesting (and not for the zip line, heights, no thanks)
THIS IS SICK. me and aaron are well and truly runfluenced
Sun 18, well done!
Brooks do tend to be firmer than most other brands. I like the Glycerin, it is cushioned, but still has a firmness to it. There is a Ghost Max (version 2 just come out), which is a max cushioned version with the same drop I think.
I wear 4e or occasional 2e wide shoes. These wide sizes are rare and getting them for a discount is even rarer. Brooks do wide shoes sizes, I agree with your sentiment, Brooks tend to be hard and dull. Usually last longer than average. That said I did trial a pair of hyperion max for a couple of months and whilst they were hard and dull ride, they were also incredibly fast if you landed heavily on them. My last pair of shoes I got from start fitness came as 11.5 right foot and a 12.5 left foot. Obviously they didn't know my left foot is a whole cm longer than my right foot, some some dodgy quality control... But I didn't complain as they fit me better 😂
Where can I pickup a t-shirt?
Where can I pickup a t-shirt ?
I got one just from attending the event, and I’m not sure if / where you can buy them sorry!
Well done on the pb. Smashed it 💪👌
Don’t think you’ve ever looked at me the way you look at those shoes
Nice video mate, keep doing content like that, i love seeing running shoe reviews
thanks will do - got one on the Adidas Boston 12s coming in a week or two!
You can do more macro shots while you talk in the background.. or maybe add texts which are catchy while you talk in the background.. Too much info being dumped without enough seeing the watch... :/
You should be really proud of yourself for sticking in despite everything your body threw at you that day. As you said, the time didn’t matter. You completed it and did so against adversity. That makes it a much bigger achievement ❤
Have you tried the Huawei Watch GT Runner, if so do you notice the extra weight vs Pace 3? Its sensors are extremely accurate, only Apple watches complete according to the QS channel's testing.
Out of breath during the warm up - story of my life :P PS - loving the transitions(run data) very smooth haha
Well done mate on being so honest and putting it out there. Running is ups and downs but isn’t always portrayed that way. I think you did amazing to finish after the issues started so early on! Hopefully I’ll see you at a race soon! Chris
cheers, love the videos!
Ulcerative Colitis runner here. Symptoms are good at the moment but they can spring out of nowhere at times. Keep running buddy. It's a good thing to have in your life. "Ride the highs & lows & accept them for what they are" Love it🤘
good to see a honest experience. RUclips/instagram can be abit false, as you say, every run is an easy perfect run. Life isn't perfect, nor is every run for sure.
A painful watch. Look after yourself 👍
thanks, much better already!
Wish I lived in the countryside, a lot nicer place to run than in a grey city
Epic
Would've been better with decent beer......
YES! Please recommend something!!
I MADE THE EDIT w
I have a Coros Pace arm strap. It’s $79 in the US but accurate and comfortable. I also have it paired at the same time to my Apple Watch on the opposite wrist. It connects quicker to Apple than my Coros Watch.
yep I just got the heart rate monitor and it does a great job - review video coming soon!
I would prefer the FR265 over the Coros3. But the price is also higher. But would choose the Coros 3 over the new Garmin FR165. So if you're into a budget runnerwatch, this can be the one.
This is exactly how I expected James May to be when he was 20. What a legend
COROS is really a runners watch. More compact and efficient in features and price. But Garmin for more other extra features, extra prices and more smartwatch features. Depending on your use case. But specifically for running, the price/performance ratio, nothing beats a COROS.
this comment sums up the whole video in a few sentences. 👍
