@@Speelbird thanks so much. Glad you are finding value in it. A new one coming out soon. The foam grips vastly reduce vibrations. My hands a pretty messed up and I feel a huge difference with foam grips. For rally bikes they are essential given the many hours we spend on the bike in a race. In my experience they don’t really absorb moisture. However, other than a few stages, I have not ridden with them in rain for extended periods at a time.

@ thanks for the answer :) You dont find much about rally sports or even events here in germany and it is some absolute niche sport unfortunately… Also because every single wood or grasland is holy and offroading more or less strictly forbidden everywhere. So I guess you are some kind of lucky. I wish you all the best on your road to Dakar and will follow the results of course. Ride safe and good luck :)

@@donlopez3185 fully agree. The point of the trip was to show that the 500 could easily do it. That was part of a project where I used the 500 for an entire year racing offroad races, doing rallies, and doing long distance adv travel to prove/show it can do it all. Was a hell of a year.

The engine is quite frugal, depending the terrain and the ride speed you can easily get between 45 and 58 mpg. So real world maximum range is between 360 and 460 miles.

@@men8ifr the Scott with transitional lenses is now my new “go to” all round goggle. I love not having to change lenses in the race and I don’t have to carry extra lenses. The Smith with Chromapop lenses for the dunes is by far my favorite. Really worked well.
