What a marvelous logo from HBO!
Well it was the first network to go bye bye in the next century.
"Welcome To The First Night Of The First Network For The Next Century" *lasts for just 11 years* VoiceOver: *regrets love with the wb, the cw, and upn*
UPN was a 50/50 ownership between Paramount/Viacom and United Television hence why they were referred to as United Paramount Network and also due to the fact that most of the stations that were affiliated with UPN were either owned by United Television which included WWOR New York, KCOP Los Angeles, KPTV Portland,KBHK San Francisco, KUTP Phoenix or were owned by Paramount Stations Group such as KTXH Houston, KTXA Dallas/Fort Worth, WDCA Washington D.C and former Fox Affiliates WKBD Detroit, KRRT San Antonio which were owned by Paramount took the UPN Affiliation but there were other UPN affiliates that weren’t owned by United Television or Paramount Stations Group depending on which market.
Excellent Adventure Island commercial!!
And yet it didn’t even last a decade in the new century.
And it’s successor network is a few years away from airing as long as both its direct predecessors combined
At least six years of the next century counts, right?
I never watched UPN growing up Why do the guitar notes sound familiar?
It must’ve been only accessible to a subchannel where the audio quality was garbage
*cue ominous chanting*
Lmfao and a decade later it folded like a lawn chair.
Yet UPN stomped The WB in the ratings.
@@robjackson5245for two years
“Welcome to the first night of the first network of the next century.” *only lasts 11 years*
This actually played right at the beginning of Caretaker, Voyager's first episode.
It was a great company. I was with them for 3 years. Great people. When the standards bureau was deciding which switch would be selected for the "Integrated Services Digital Network", the GTD5, invented and manufactured by GTE, was selected.
UPN and WB both folded in 2006 after 11 1/2 years due to fate
You mean The WB.

Welcome to the first night of the first network for the next century: UPN.
“the first night, of the first network, of the next century” *cries in mynetworktv*
I mean... MyNetworkTV was born because Fox had a bunch of UPN stations which can't move to The CW because Tribune's stations (which usually had The WB) gets first dibs on moving
What was the movie that was going to be played in this video?
Frist network for the next century my butt.
this was my childhood
Mine too!
Followed by the pilot of "Star Trek Voyager."
Full Eclipse now that was a badass vampire movie made by good ole HBO. I do remember watching that one.
I love Full Eclipse too.. it's one of my all-time favorites too. But it was actually a werewolf movie.
The 1983 version was epic! This sucks….
UPN is a joint venture between Chris-Craft Industries through United Television and Viacom through Paramount Television with the network's slogan, "The First Network For The Next Century".
And yet they only lasted six years into that century!
My irony detector is beeping loudly
Cut to the future where Viacom and CBS merged together twice and UPN is reincarnated into Paramount Network.
ONE MY OTHER FAVORITES .”STRAPPED”KICKED ON WITH THIS ONE 💯💯🔥🔥🔥
Why is this archived but not NY1
Media Stash uploaded Some early 90s NY1 stuff lately check them out
WABM first night Channel 68 Cable 2 in Birmingham, Alabama.
I also noticed that this intro inspired this song ruclips.net/video/qw4GOVCzNmc/видео.html
UPNs highest rated night
Yep, they won that night........and sadly it was all downhill from there.
Almost mediocre shows, right?
UPN stomped The WB in the ratings. WTF are you talking about?
@@ArMartz UPN stomped The WB in the ratings dumbass.
Not everyone got UPN in some television markets. Abilene TX didn’t get UPN officially until 2001 when KXVA took Fox away from KIDZ where UPN was a secondary affiliate but only kids programming aired on weekends.
I still sing this song to this very day. I use to spend every weekend there during Spring Break and Summer Vacation. It's a shame the park isn't what it use to be. Still fun for a weekend outing. But not worth traveling for. :/
Hey removed most of their old rides including Everglides which was my favorite
Lol dude same, this song just popped in my head and I had to check RUclips to see if this commercial still existed
Hard to understand to audio track. I understand it's an original recording.
I remember this one..
Great to hear Star Tunnel 2 and more sections uncovered on this older clip! 😉 O.O.K 💙👌🏻

Mutsor Tima They didn’t even make it to puberty.
It's been long time to wait for SDDS come to home theartre system. Sony, please dedicate your SDDS to the world. 7.1 channels.
the 5.1 audio is on last action hero 4k
January 1995 is when KBHK channel 44 cable 12 became a UPN affiliate.
That tagline's optimism is pretty admirable.
Especially since they died just a few years later lol
@@austinreednetwork They last 11 years - the fuck?
@robjackson5245 compared to the big 4 the run wasn't long. That is what I'm saying.
@@austinreednetwork OK
@@austinreednetwork I'm sorry it's just that these morons say UPN wasn't as popular as The WB, which is stupid because it's the other way around. And UPN was more Warner Bros.ish than The WB, despite being Paramount. The WB was Tribune crap.
This was my favorite intro
Yaaaasss

It's been so long since I've seen this. Probably my all time favorite of the early 1990s. I spent a few years searching for this and lo and behold. My favorite HBO feature presentation logo has returned to me. The others from later on were awesome. Like the one of the small town panning up in the sky. But this one was my pride and joy.
Welcome To The First Night, Of The First Network, For The Next Century. UPN.
