How to Catch Fish in the RAIN #fishing #redfish #croaker
Happy New Year that's a great way to start it! I managed to catch one yesterday but it was a struggle only one bite in four hours. I didn't know you caught a 4.7 in there I'll have to go back and watch that!
Happy new year brother !
Hey buddy I hope you had a great Christmas and a Happy New Year. You're the best when it comes to fishing in the trash. I hope you fill better soon. God Bless.
Happy birthday dad!!!!
@@raggedrubiconhuntingadventure Thanks for watching and good luck on your next trip!
@dragemoutfishing1222 thank you sir
And a happy new year
Nice are you using the 1 or 2 inch and floating or non floating
@@michaelapanasewicz9967 the 1-inch thank you for watching and your comments good luck on your next trip
I'm sure you'll find you a good sheepshead spot sooner or later!
Try the Black Creek Fishing pier in green cove. I have caught sheepshead there before.
@@snookdock well that's good news that they could be that far south in the river. I have never caught one in doctors Lake in the past 32 years so I didn't think they came this far south in the river because I didn't think it was salty enough. Maybe I haven't caught him because it's so shallow at my dock maybe 5 ft at high tide. I really appreciate your comments thanks for watching. Good luck on your next trip
Where did you get the sand fleas from? Thanks in advance
@jameswalmer129 Jacksonville Beach Bait and Tackle right there when you go over the bridge on the left it used to be Rex Bait and Tackle but it's been completely remodeled and super nice
@@dragemoutfishing1222I’ve caught one nice sheepshead out of doctors lake, they’re in there just not easy to catch
@@PondHoppinHooligan thanks for letting me know. I appreciate your comments and you watching. Good luck on your next trip!!
Nice job!!!
no auger? they're required for winter fishing where I live
Get you some fisherman's pliers, you will not regret it. They are split at the end of the jaws, this is for the hook to take it out of the fishes mouth. Very useful.
@@jeffarp7409 I'll have to try them out. Thanks for your comments and good luck on your next trip!
@dragemoutfishing1222 the fish will thank you, it makes those hooks that are deep in the throat easy to get out. hope this helps, good luck.
Super true they taste great
I just restored my grandfather fishing rod tomorrow fish genocide jahaha
@@ValentinSerrano-nj4dc I wish you the best of luck. Go get them!
@ thanks hopefully the rod still flexible enough for catfish 👍
how many feet do i have to cast, and what bait is the best to use? and what fish bites color should I get?
He's waiting for KFC or a bluegill
I should have let him hop in the RAV4 and headed for the drive-thru for some extra crispy. Thanks for watching and good luck on your next trip
Glad he was able to catch a couple on his birthday! I tried them this morning and got skunked. Had a lot of rain and a full moon but I'm hoping to catch some soon
I would love to catch some of those Channel Cats sometime. If you ever want a fishing partner.
Happy birthday to your dad. Great Video
@@samnorman5594 thank you sir. It was definitely a tough day out there with that cold. I am looking forward to a good big Channel cat bite
When is your dad’s birthday? Mine is on 13 December, right now in fact.
@@danaparks8812 this is on the 11th of December which is weird because minus the 11th of November. Well I want to wish you a happy birthday a day late I hope you did something you enjoy!
@@dragemoutfishing1222 And actually, my father-in-law’s was on the 11th of December, however, he turned 98!😳
Glad you were able to get a few I understand about it being cold it's getting real cold here and they are just hard to catch in the cold!
@@bigmouthbrice as always thanks for watching I appreciate it. Going to take my dad fishing Friday for his 81st birthday so hopefully this cold snap will go and we'll pick some up. Looking forward to your next video
I hope y'all have a great trip and happy birthday to your dad! I'm trying to slip out soon and do some fishing just need to quit being so busy
Another good one my friend. God Bless
@@samnorman5594 Thanks you for watching and your comments. I always appreciate your feedback!
Did you ever fish at or hear of a Dames Point Public Fishing Pier? I used to go over the bridge for work every day until I had to take my FMLA(but that is either a story for another time or not at all, lol), and now just every once in a while if we’re like going to the airport or something. But can’t for the life of me tell where it is by just looking. Guess I could GPS it if I really needed to, just wondered if you had ever been there, and if so, what it’s like? Keep doing what you’re doing otherwise, I appreciate it. Thanks and Happy belated Thanksgiving! God bless.
@@danaparks8812 I have heard of one being on the north side of the bridge. That bridge freaks me out a little bit so I don't go over it unless I have to. Not scared of alligators and snakes but I'm a little shaky on that bridge hahaha let me know if you find anything else about it
@ I’ll do my best!
Happy late birthday looks like you had a fun trip that was a giant turtle! I've caught some smaller ones and they are hard to get in I can't imagine one that size
@@bigmouthbrice Thank you Brice I appreciate it! Yep that is probably my second biggest soft shell. Maybe one day I'll try eating one but it seems a little gross and I've cleaned and armadillo before and I don't know if I want to clean a turtle. Hahaha
Did they ever get bigger in there unbelievable that you got Mangrove Snappers in a lake
Stone Crushers mother-in-law fish
Holy smokes Stingrays and bluegill
How do they have saltwater fish in there it's landlocked did it used to be hooked up to the St John's I guess. This is a Florida Wonder to me and I'm a Floridian
@@charlesachinelli3857 it's not landlocked that big bridge you see in the distance is at the St Johns River. I used to call it Doctors Inlet because that's what it is and everybody kept correcting me in the even the sign on that bridge says doctors Lake. So I just started calling it doctors lake too but it is truly an inlet and has strong tides. Thanks for watching and good luck on your next trip
@dragemoutfishing1222 yeah I finally looked it up and saw where you're at. Up by Jacksonville awesome estuary probably have flounder too
@charlesachinelli3857 caught my first flounder this year after fishing there for 32 years. There are some there but it's not as salty as when you get past downtown where you have more flounder sea trout Jack etcetera.
@dragemoutfishing1222 yeah the Jacks could handle some fresh water brackish any Snook or closer to the mouth of Jacksonville
Brackish..?
@@charlesachinelli3857 yes it is brackish and that is one of the things I like about it the most I never know what I'm going to catch everything from freshwater bream and catfish to sea trout. Thanks for watching and good luck on your next trip!
@@dragemoutfishing1222 I live in Hudson in Sea Pines on a spring. So I have mangrove snapper here around. Snook , redfish , Sea trout right now on the tandem jigs love lures. No barnacles grow here and there is hydrilla from the freshwater
That was fun my friend. What bridge was that?
@@samnorman5594 that is the Beach Boulevard Intracoastal Waterway bridge at Jax Beach. Never have caught anything big there but I always catch a crazy variety. Thanks for watching
Well no wear on the drag😂
That happened to me the fin went straight through my toe
@@Chaseevans4wheeling ouch I know that hurts! Thanks for your comments and good luck on your next trip
Yes nice fish. God Bless
Your such a spaz! I love you
@@clintmckee3472 glad to see you're still watching me spazz out after 48 years. Hope you have a good day with your family I'll talk to you later
Crappie is my fav fish to catch and eat.
Definitely my favorite freshwater fish to eat. I think it's because they are in deep water and feed on the other live fish and have a very white flaky meat compared to bluegills that eat bugs and algae. Thanks for watching and your comments. I hope you can get out soon and catch some of those ones you told me about. Have a great night
He didn't just want the the bait he wanted the entire pole🤣
Great job out there!
@@pinhookfishingclub thank you Pinhook I appreciate it and always looking forward to your next video
That was a good fish. God Bless
@@samnorman5594 thanks for watching I always appreciate your comments!
Nice catch. What are using to record your fishing adventures?
@@patrickacox I am using a GoPro HERO Black 9 . It is several versions back but it's been the most reliable and durable one of the three that I have had. The only thing is I wear it on my head cuz I believe I capture better footage cuz it's looking everywhere I'm looking like when the dog gets snatched. If you watch other people that used to the chest male they're talking about how they got the fish and you're staring at the back of their wrist the only disadvantage of the head Mount is that Mike is 3 inches from my mouth so it's picking up the breathing especially when I'm getting super excited hahaha thank you for watching I always appreciate your comments
man I wish
@@JacobBeck11 thanks for watching and good luck on your next trip!
Nothing like hooking a red!!! I just caught one like 4 days ago and I haven’t been the same since…
@@TheresaSummerlin yes ma'am the head shakes are awesome thanks for watching and good luck on your next trip!
It was a beautiful day out there! Last time I fished salt water it seemed like all i could catch were pinfish, croakers, and saltwater cats
Hey bro, haven’t been commenting that much lately, but I do at least watch all of your content anyway. If you don’t mind sharing either the approximate address of where that is, or if you really don’t mind getting too creative, tell me how I would (more or less) get to under the Atlantic Blvd. bridge, from the Julington Creek area? Ifyou don’t know where I’m coming from, it’s where Julington Creek (off of the SJR) in St Johns County where it borders Duval. This looks like an excellent place to go, and an excellent place to take a new beginner fisherman! Really appreciate your taking your free time to share and explore with you on your fishing adventures! 🐟🎣🐟🎣
@@danaparks8812 sure I'm always looking to help fellow fishermen. Take Kernan off JTB all the way over to Atlantic turn right go over the Intracoastal Waterway bridge. Get off where it says local Mayport do a U-turn and start heading back over the bridge you'll see a small building on the right side of the road and right after that there's the turn off which I guess is the Old Atlantic Boulevard Bridge Perry there's plenty of parking however the current is extremely fast so either big poles with a lot of weight or like me try to get somewhere out of the current. I was using that Voodoo shrimp but it's too expensive to Chunk in there I went back the next day and got a hit on the first pass and lost my shrimp on the second one and then I didn't get any more hits on my other artificial. So I didn't make a video. I would use the rig that I use under the Beach Boulevard knock a rig with a weight right down to a small hook and small pieces of dead shrimp. Do prepare to get hung some with that many rocks and that much current. If you make it over there let me know how you do
@ WOW!!! When I asked if you felt like being creative, you just weren’t a whistling Dixie! Thanks for the details! Never thought I was getting that much! Most definitely appreciated though, bro! Thanks again, God bless!
Man I’m working on the south side currently and lemme tell you those ponds are loaded ! I have had the best fall fishing year I’ve ever had fishing south side ponds . Good luck on your next trip
@@FunTimeFishing I am motivated to try and find some new spots around jax. As a development continues it gets a little more challenging because they trespass you out of there. I wish I could fish the pond behind dicks at the town center. I have gotten a couple of fatties out of there but the security always runs me off. Thanks for watching and good luck on your next trip
Nice ones I gotta find me some more places to bank fish
@@bigmouthbrice looking forward to your next video when you do!
You went back to the honey hole.
I been waiting on you to post. It amazes me how you get them out of those trees. God Bless
You're the man. I love how you just go catch fish. God Bless
I appreciate that
They get Redfish in Palaka now dude. About fifteen years ago my buddy caught a 7lb Black drum in doctors lake.🍻
Thanks for watching and your comments. I had a buddy catch a redfish in Palatka fishing with a Bass lure. The farthest South I have it's caught them is Bostwick on my Red shad CULPRIT worm favorite bass lure.. doctors lake is the farthest South I have caught the mangrove snapper. Good luck on your next trip
Good evening my friend. That was short but good content. God Bless
I caught a huge snapping turtle off the dock at Camp Chow once. I had to cut my line. He was to big to lift or net
@@patrickacox do you know if it was an alligator snapper? Thanks for watching in your comments
@@dragemoutfishing1222 I am pretty sure it was. I sure wish I would have been able to get it out of the water.
I saw one crossing a Swamp Road one time that was probably two and a half feet across. About a month later I saw the world record on The Tonight Show it was a little larger and 150 lbs. Those are the ones that lay on the bottom open their mouth and their tongue looks like a worm and when the fish comes up slam!
