If there had have been an audience at this, they would have absolutely brought the house down with their applause. What a beautiful, magnificent performance by both of them. Rachel Willis-Sorenson and Jonas Kaufmann are so brilliant together. As for the Jonas detractors out there, there was not a lot wrong with THAT top C was there? 😂

The best Alfredo I've heard. What a gorgeous melodic voice Jonas Kaufmann has and those strong baritone-ish tones give this wonderful tenor a quality not heard since the days of Correlli and Windgassen from what I can tell. He's glorious in this. No wonder he got such a standing ovation at the MET. The only thing I can't work out is why they have never released this wonderful performance onto a DVD. 😢❤

Ddoesn't the Met have any light bulbs? This is almost impossible to follow on-line, the stage is so dark. You could at least see the 1988 producution with Domingo and Zampieri in the leads.

Jonas is acting like a movie actor and sings wonderfully! And Rachel is remarkable too. I regret BSO didn't release a record with this show, which would also have been an image of what the pandemic meant for the artistic performance...

I attended this matinee performance. Kaufmann and Westbroek make a great team here, as well as Chenier and Walkure. Kaufmann only sang a performances in this series; the others were sung by the husband of Netrebko.

Ha! I attended this performance, the Saturday matinee of Fanciulla. I love the team of Kaufmann & Westbroek. Kaufmann only sang a few performances at the end of the run, Netrebko’s husband sang the opening performances.

For me a great mystery why Kaufmann is considered to be " fabulous "...😒 Er ist nicht mal " gut ".....

Love Westbroekes' interpretation of the role; this woman who can control a whole barroom of men, but acts like a 12-year old girl when the "bad boy" shows up. She and Kaufmann use their wonderful voices very well together; they're both at the tops of their careers. The book is so outdated, but they make it so real by their artistry.

The first time I see Kauffmann overshadowed by anyone. She is absolutely phenomenal!!!!!!!

This was the performance that made the world discover Kaufman. He writes about it in his book. The audience went nuts. I am distressed by some of the nasty and inappropriate things some write here. Kaufman has been praised by knowledgeable critics as unsurpassed. Yes, he is a baritonal tenor. I love the depth it gives to his splendid voice.
