Don’t waste your money on a stage 1 if you ever plan on a stage 2 tune In the future. I’d recommend looking at maybe a few extra supporting mods to go with the down pipe, when going for stage 2. Like I’m getting a coil pack and spark plugs and a few other things upgraded just to keep reliability on my engine. In short tho it shouldn’t be a problem if you have the down pipe and other mods with it.

this gearbox doe not fart like a dsg, this is a standard automatic transmission

They do but when your tuned it doesn't because it has to shift slower

@@driveonthestraightpath2138 The mechanics at the Tuning shop (DVX) were as surprised as I was when they came back to me with the data, thats the most amount of power they've ever gotten out of a stock 1.8 tsi at stage 1 (thus even with stock air intake). It should push over 250 with a decent cold air intake. The Superb previous owner was an old man so the engine was pretty tame at first. Either I did one hell of a job breaking in that engine or they used some Czechian magic on it back in the factory, I have no clue. What I do know is that my Czechian tank can out run a stock GTI (and pretty much any stick shifter up to 350 hp) with nothing but a simple software tune. I paid €700 for the software update, both the Engine and DSG combined.

Stock seats, but we're an optional upgrade when ordering the car, one of my favorite things about the car tbh 🙂

Stage 1 cost just under $700 if memory serves correct. Alot of people don't know that VW is partnered with APR so I got it done at my local VW, the work is warranted that way too. I'm actually stage 2 now but unfortunately stage 2 was discontinued on Memorial day of 2020.

Yes that's the GLi which we also have here in the states. Mine is not a GLi.

Lol yeah, been stage 2 for a while now and put some really nice tires on it and my best time was 5.4sec 0-60

If you're referring to the whistle sound, it's the air going into the intake itself, there isn't much you can do about it. I personally like the sound although I know some don't.

In 2001 the Audi TT had the 8N (gen1) engine, I have the Gen3 ea888 engine. I dont think they'd scale similarly but im not too sure tbh. But hopefully now that you know the generation and model of your engine you might be able to find out. 🙂

@@kylemonoson5521 APR site says it's 210hp for my tune, plus whatever a catless downpipe adds. Certainly enough for a tiny and light TT. Thanks for your help!

2001 Audi TT was probably not a direct inject engine.

Yeah I'm in the US, but I got it a week before memorial day of 2020 when it was discontinued. For my next car I'll broadly move to IE (integrated engineering) since I've been hearing some really good things about them recently.

@@kylemonoson5521 hey man I’ve been searching for a tune for the mk6.5 1.8t since I already have downpipe and intake but I haven’t been able to find anything other then just apr stage 1 have you had any luck finding something that goes beyond (stage 2 and 3) since the discontinuation

@@kylemonoson5521 thanks for the input I was just on their website I see a stage 1 and 2 for a 1.8t gen 3 ea888 but says it’s for the golf and all track and other then that I don’t see anything maybe it’s just not out yet or it might still work I’m going to try and get in touch with someone from there though. So the separation happened because the clamp connecting the 3" dp to the stock 2.5" exhaust blew open (screw failed on c-clamp). Took it to VW (got a friend there) who let me use the lift and put on a new c-clamp.

@@kylemonoson5521 OK. What size clamp did you use because I'm between a clamp or 2.5" to 3" adapter

Look at the wheelspin he had. It's possible to get under 6,2sec with no wheelspin. PS: how come you have 6speed DSG? Where are you from? As far as I know, 1.8T 2017 uses 7speed DSG DQ200?

@@SevenEleven07 sadly, no :( 1.4 and 1.8tsi have 7speed wet dsg, 2.0tsi have 6speed dry dsg. 1.8tsi is a nice spot, just that dq200 bothers me :(

Yea. I had the same problem. I went APR stage 1 and have the transmission flush done and now it's gone.

I am very late to this comment but from my experience in mine, you kinda get used to it. Not the harshness but you get used to knowing how to drive it to avoid the harsh shifts, I figured my way around the issue within the first couple months.

This is really down to preference honestly. Being catless there is deffinitly a rich furl smell. It's only noticeable while parked or waiting at a stop light. In those moments as long as you turn on the cabin filter you won't notice it at all though otherwise it'll come straight through the AC.

Thank you! The 1.4t is a great engine, however there is one main issue. APR discontinued stage 2 quite a while ago. I am hearing good things about integrated engineering though, so I'd look into them. I'm confident the 1.4 won't pull the same numbers as a 1.8, however of you slapped a bigger turbo on it you would take a 1.8 unless they did the same. Good luck to you 🙂

It is not a DSG (I wish) BUT the tune deffinitly improves shift times.

Deffinitly not the tube (intake) on its own, the tune is doing most the work. The more parts to help the engines efficiently the better your times will be. You deffinitly don't need to have all parts prior to the tune. In fact having some add ons might cause your car to run lean causing some dash lights and inefficiencies. I'd get the tune before anything since stage 1 doesn't require any bolt ons at all.

@@mdavis27 the shop that is gonna do my tune is gonna put it on a Dyno, so I did all my engine stuff before hand because some parts you swap out you have to get it re-tuned. So my order was new exhaust, inlet pipe, discharge pipe, then cold air, and finally the stage 1 tune, I'm more interested in the torque increase rather then the seconds

They did Labor day of 2020. I got the tune 1 week prior once I found out about it being discontinued.

Consider reinstalling the stock air intake to compare. In FL, most "cold air" intakes are really hot air intakes, as open elements take in hot air trapped under the hood. Easily one of the most counterproductive "upgrades" around. Very often the downpipe alone is more productive. The EA888 is very responsive to heat management solutions like a larger radiator and oil cooler. Also, it's OBD2, not "11". They're Roman numerals.

@@trentashbrook2205 yeah I wanted to make very subtle changes to where anyone who really knows the platform might double take but not enough to constantly be barraged with people wanting to race. I let them know when I feel like racing when I make the turbo blowoff.
