When your oil is max on the dipstick when cold it's ok to.
Yes that is also ok! But it’s important to note that it will expand as it warms up. And some cars require oil level to be checked at different temperatures. On a SAAB 900 you must warm the engine up for 3-5 minutes, then shut off and wait a bit, then check the level, as per the owners manual.
Regular oil changes is enough really. Only if previous owners have neglected services should this even be necessary. I change my oil every 6-8 K km.
I totally agree! On my other cars that I know have solid service history I did not need to do this. On this V70, the service history isn’t as well known and it’s a very high mileage engine that burns a bit of oil on cold start, so it was worth a shot! So far, so good :)

What else do you suggest? A little silicone grease on the hose certainly won’t harm anything :)
@@swedesourcecanada as opinionated as i am it was truly just an honest question lol. I swapped one on my viggen without the grease cuz i never figured out if it was or wasn’t needed.
@@michaelmyers9mm it’s definitely not needed, but it will just help things slide in better and ease installation and removal. I’ve removed rubber air hoses that were a little stuck on and form a crust. So I just use a tad bit of silicone grease to ease it!

@@btrdangerdan2010 don’t think they come separately sadly! At least new from Volvo. Your best bet is finding a set like I did. Honestly, really uplifts your whole interior, and they are less prone to sagging!

What are the names of the hoses? I have a 99 s70 base
You can call them EVAP vacuum hoses, but you can go online and pick up any automotive hosing made of silicone or NBR rubber and it comes in a roll and you cut to size. Just search up the correct inner diameter which I mentioned in the video!

Yes, the car was built by Saab Autohaus Lafrentz in Kiel and is still owned by Lafrentz. It combined a Lancia Thema SW and a Saab 9000 CS and is very well made and in a very nice green color.
