What Ana Kasparian got wrong in the "fascism debate"

Can Nietzsche and Christianity be squared?
I wish I had a clue what the he'll he was going on about. I can't enjoy philosophy unless it's dumbed down. I'm just not intellectual enough. They laugh and I'm like what's the joke? I didn't understand a single thing said. Are they just sounded convoluted because they can. It's just like gibberish, like those pointless drawn out sentences in a legal document. Please help me understand.
She is completely and utterly disgusting.
Is so beautiful, I finished in 1 day , one of the most amazing series I ever saw , touched me so much !
And now guess what? We are going to get this Counterfiet -Christian crap in spades come noon January 20!
I love the reviews so far! Keep them coming! <3
I really enjoy your critique of the episodes. It really goes more deeply than any other I have watched on RUclips. I am a retired college professor from Guayaquil, Ecuador.
thanks for that--appreciate it. I kind of did it on a whim since I have an affection for GGM's art & the series was better than I expected
Great review, really appreciate your insight. You should consider doing something more in depth, would love to hear your thoughts.
thanks! I have reviews of episodes 1-7 & will post them on my channel
I was surprised to hear Taylor talk like that. He is usually quite articulate in his familiar grounds, i.e. the sociology of faith and secularism. Here, he can't even finish a sentence he started. Out of the world salad, the only thing that comes out, is his proposal that the mystery of consciousness invalidates the results of science. Not even as amusing as that whole naive idea of Reasonable Accommodation of a few years back.
I was disappointed they got scared of showing J. Arcadio's genitals, when his character is basically introduced around his gargantuan dick.
La serie es una bella adaptación del libro.
I am intrigued!
I agree. This is the first time watching one of your videos and I really enjoy the simple review. Thanks
Thank you, please review all the episodes. I cannot find good reviews and just started reading the book.

Ramblings of an embittered, clueless philosopher.
That's enough about you; what about Taylor's argument?
awesome review! Loved the 1st part, waiting for part 2. Thanks for sharing the Arcadia myth connection, I didnt know that
I absolutely loved this adaptation.

Great review buddy, I will start watching it. Thanks
For me the whole "journalism" narration with absurd and random numbers and locations is hilarious and more magical than anything supernaturel in the book

The crisis that will bring back Fascism/Caesarism as a viable solution will be the massive unemployement caused by deindustrialization, mass immigration, massive droughts, catastrophies like locust swarms in the global South, perhaps even a major CME, but definitely AI and robotics. I.e. the degradation of general wages due to slave labor; machines or migrants. That is what led to the rise of the original Caesar.
Equality is a false god and leads ultimately to total individualism and self-worship. Nazism was an aberration of the Fascist idea though, since racial idolatry is another type of, albeit collective, but still self-worship. Schmitt's idea about God and power is not strange at all, you can find loads of Medieval philosophy on the subject of the Divine Right of Kings.
Not just walking, but walking slowly. And for a long time.
It's very rare to find anyone who has any idea what they are even talking about when they talk about relativism or moral relativity. Concepts are relative. Morals are only relevant inside a conceptual system. Inside any given system, they are not at all relative. But ultimately they are relative along with the conceptual system they come with. There are no absolute concepts. Most people can't handle that.
This man is more trusty that's for sure

She definitely been a Far Right WS since the beginning but now it's coming out more like when she support a female Race Soldier accused a non drunk Black man who had an unopened bottle to be drunk also supported that cop of dumping the alcohol on the street and was glad he went to prison for it.
It's one thing to say that "ideology" overlaps, blends, or take parts thereof... that seems as if it should be so obvious that it shouldn't need stating. (though I get that we're in a post-"obvious" era... I won't elaborate) It's another thing entirely to do what the state-run leftist media does and wantonly and recklessly call Trump a "fascist" (in the same stream as calling him every other ad hominem under the sun) but without ever giving a clear reasoning as to "how *exactly* is he a fascist?" I have yet to see a single, well-reasoned explanation of his "clinical fascism" to-date. And the left really does come off as having Trump Derangement Syndrome (though it didn't start with Trump... Bush, McCain, and Romney were all fascists also, or some degree of the same)... the left just "tees off" and throws these terms around entirely unscientifically. The fact that he is charismatic is not proof of fascism. The fact that he wants a strong military (as did Reagan, both Bushes, etc, etc) is not proof of fascism. The fact that he wants abortion to be states-rights (as have most Republicans) is not fascism. The fact that he exaggerates on minor or incidental issues that matter not one whit (e.g. the size of his crowds; the size of his inauguration; the size of his privates or Arnold Palmer's privates) - is not proof of fascism. The fact that he wants to secure the border is just plain SENSIBLE and a matter of national security. It is not proof of fascism. I agree, one does not need to be EXACTLY like Mussolini in order to be a fascist. But one sure as hell needs SOMETHING that smacks of something more than politically-motivated ad hominems... the fact that "Fascism" is even part of our political discourse has far more to do with Marxism on the current political left, and the tendency to divide and conquer, and to "project" classes and groups as evil political enemies, than it does with any actual "fascist policies" that Trump is proposing. We've already lived one full term with him, and the only totalitarians during that time were the state-led media and the bogus witch-hunts engaged in by the "politicizing the institutions" left.
Ana is trying to stay relevant.
Whether or not somebody is a fascist is the wrong question. The right question is whether he feels entitled to beat people up to advance his ideology, whatever that may be. Whether or not a government is fascist is the wrong question. The right question is whether they kick in doors in the middle of the night and drag people away -- never to be seen again. I think that the word "fascist" is being misused with intent: if the target shows any feature that is remotely plausible as a characteristic of fascism, they must also kick in doors in the middle of the night. For example: Taylor Swift has a cult of personality, therefor, if somebody dislikes her and calls her a fascist, she must also be putting on jackboots and going around beating people up, and the accuser doesn't even have to catch her doing it, it's just a given.
The silliest part was when Cenk pointed out Trump literally tried to overthrow the government and her response was to say he failed. So Hitler wouldn't have been a fascist if he failed to turn Germany into a dictatorship?
I think another thing people miss, is that fascism is less an ideology, and more of a "mode of political behavior". It's not a list of specific policy proscriptions for specific problems, but a roadmap for manipulating a populace into accepting authoritarian rule, in exchange for a vague promise that some "few" will hold dominion over a "many", and that this will "solve" whatever problems a given populace perceives need solving. Usually with violence.
No. Fascism specifically was a very specific Italian ideology based on Revolutionary (national) Syndicalism and Neo-Hegelian philosophy. Fascism wasn't "mode of political behavior" in any way shape or form.
Ana “I don’t think Trump wants to be a dictator” Trump: “ill be a dictator from day 1”
True.
What she got wrong .... Everything..... she's on her Dave Rubin arch....its all about the Benjamin's...💰💰💰
She been on all Far Right arch since the beginning.
I've always preferred the hybrid explanation for both governance and economics. It's not only more accurate, but it also removes the strict ideological stench people love to roll around in. I like the idea of fluidity as well, because we are routinely seeing US politicians shift quite often as well as have vastly different domestic policy patterns that don't match their foreign policy.
Jason, why spend time responding to such an intellectual lightweight? She is so clearly desperate to be relevant and make money, so her definitions of anything - fascism, truth - will bend with the algorithm and her paymaster.
Conservatives have finally got to the point where they just didn't care about the lefts accusations. If they get what they want they suffer more.
