Disc Golf Beginner Tackles the Oologah lake Disc Golf Course!
I always find it hilarious when I see videos saying "best forehand disc" or "best backhand disc". lol.. it's like saying best disc for left hand or best disc for right hand. lol..
I mean there are discs that are better for specific throws…?
We still call it Oak Grove out here. 😊
I once threw a Lightning Disc at our tightly wooded course and hit 1st available. The disc didn't just break but it Exploded into a 100 pieces. Lightning disc....go out and try to find one now. Good luck
Great job man. Would be cool to learn about some of the early majors or history of courses. Just ideas
I agree! Maybe I’ll do a follow-up with some of that
I was introduced to disc golf in 1998 when I was 19 at Hansen Park in New Brighton Minnesota where they still to this day have the original cone baskets from 1979 the year I was born. It's a 14 hole course but has long and short tee's and is an incredibly great mix!
Great Video & Amazing Content!
Glad you liked it!
This is some cool history. I always like learning about the early days of discin!
We do too!
What was the idea to cover the video of the flight with the picture of the disc? If anything I came here to see how the disc behave in flight.
Sorry about that, we’ll remember that for next time 👍🏼
Beefy = Overstable disc Flippy = Understable disc Greasy/Buttery = great drive Shanked = terrible shot Jail = in the thick woods with no options to throw through Low ceiling = tree branches that prevent you from throwing your disc with any height The list could go on and on... feel free to add to it...
X-step = 4-step lead into throwing position nose-up = leading disc-edge high, causing steep short fading flight overmold = new technology of disc manufacture, with second edge plastic base plastic = cheapest of many plastic grades, which include soft, tacky, and even glow-in-the-dark
Also you'll hear "That disc is STABLE!" The loudness of 'stable' meaning over-stable. :) Also I thought over-stable discs are better for S curve flights?
What’s really hilarious are the disc golfers that scream and curse at their discs.
Agreed!
Friend's 4 or 5 yr old would start talking to inanimate objects as if they'd listen. He'd play Dolf with us some. Then one day us grownups are yelling Fade! Fade! Or Stop, slow down! Dawned on us where he got that idea! :p
@@nealrasmussen4832 thank you. I will now be coining the term dolf. It is brilliant. 😂
I've been dropping hints to my wife about a TecDisc for several months. lol I'll be okay if she didn't pick up on the hints, but she's pretty savvy so we'll see...
I need to get ahold of one myself. I bet my angles on release are all over the place! lol
Yoooo this is so confusing for someone who doesn't know the sport. Using words like understable and flippy. Then $200 gifts?? Can't mention the obvious stuff. Mystery boxes, chalk bags, towels, cool minis, quality hats or water bottles.
I tried to keep it broad, but you're right those are some good suggestions!
I've had this disc in my bag for about 2.5 years now and I love the thing. I bag a Passion too but it just feels so different in the hand.
Heck yeah! It’s a great disc!
Ace Trace looks nice. Great Video!

LFG OK DISC GOLFER🥏
this guy gives me Cyrus from trailer park boys vibes.
This was great! Thanks!
Glad it helped!
Based off the distance drivers...the entire video is just: Overstable.
Overstablility definitely helps in the forehand department!
Eagle, Sergeant, Zone & Slammer are amazong Forehand Discs!
Athena, toro, harp, pig, pyro, firebird are some of my favourites
Don't use AI man...
If you throw an 11 speed disc faster than 11 does it increase the turn numbers ?
Great question! Yes, it will be “flippier” (have more turn) with a stronger arm but an 11-speed disc is rarely flippy.
LFG OK DISC GOLFER!!🥏
I got into catch-disc/putter hybrids for approaches, because every approach is a throw-in attempt. If I miss, hey just a chance to work on big putts. There's no laying up in my game unless a lake or a cliff is behind the basket!
Gotta risk it for the biscuit!
I love those disc's for doubles. Partner lays up, I fully commit to throwing in!
I need some more plastic!
Haha, we all do! It’s an addiction!
Love the video! But you should try planting your foot parallel to the line youre trying to hit and dont flick it on release let the power from your swing be what causes the disc to release and that alone will give you much better looks!
Thanks for the tips!
It’s funny what completely random events/items humans will take as a sign. It was just an antler lol it meant nothing
It clearly meant something to her though.
What was that growl¿ lol!
She has said Just throw the disc out there, the baskets somewhere!
Me when I gotta get up to put my plate in the sink
😂🤣😂
I don’t see a miss? 🤔
Close enough to throw that with authority.
If I was that good hah
U tha man
Is it just a design flaw or do they make those upwards wires stick up deliberately? So many times my disc has been going in and that nub gets under the lip of the disc and bounces out...very frustrating. I don't play anymore because this sport wrecked my shoulder, but I used to be a beast! 😅
Haha that’s just how the baskets are made! It can definitely be tough on the shoulders
More like which line am I shooting wh
Same here. Been playing for 6 months and play lots of putter only rounds. Just moved up to fairway drivers and the dx leopard and the latitude 64 river are great. Hitting 285 with those. Only 250 w the putters. Good vid. Keep up the work.
Thanks! I’m gonna try!
Always. Look. Up.
For sure!
I'm like you - not new, been playing casually for a few years, but I've never developed proper form or timing. I throw nose up too often and don't usually reach 200ft but I have been getting steadily better recently. Up until last month I only had one lifetime birdie, now I've had 4 in my last 5 rounds. Two things I worked into my drive starting last month that seem to help me a lot: 1. I get my heels off the ground. Before I start my walk up I get on the balls of my feet and make sure there is air under my heels, then go into my walk up that way. 2. I begin my walk up and go into my extension with the disc vertical, after watching this from Iceberg: ruclips.net/video/w4Hkc1Q8Qhw/видео.html. And lastly, instead of muscling it with my arm I'm trying to focus on whipping my hips around and letting that motion fling my arm. Anyway, good luck on your DG journey and your YT channel!
Thanks for the pointers, James! I definitely could use a few field work sessions to work on my form!
Good video man. We're about the same skill level so it's really interesting to watch.
Thanks! Yeah I’m trying to get better but it’s a long journey haha
Been there before when you wanna just score E. But can tell you wanna bomb it consistently, so a little tidbit on your form. You sort of walk backwards? On this throw 13:07 you had great form. I'm sure you just wanna have fun, but just what I noticed.
Thanks for the tips! I’m always looking to improve!
@@okdiscgolfer And the best part about a disc golf swing is you never have to use your lower back for power unlike golf 😆
Just left OK, and lived in Michigan as a kid. Great content! If you haven’t played Twin Bridges in Catoosa OK yet… definitely make the trip.
I played there for the first time earlier this year and it was awesome! I need to make a video on it cuz it’s one of my favorites I’ve ever played!
Just wanted to say keep up the good work man!!! I’ve been golfing 3 years now and remember when I started! We all start somewhere and I encourage you to never give up on your game, your channel and your content! I subscribed to your channel and hope to see you flourish 🫡
Thanks for the encouragement! I really appreciate it!

Poor choice of song. Country guys arnt playing Frisbee golf...
Thanks for the criticism but I like the song and I’m a country boy that plays disc golf!
