Mirtha Guerrero, sur scène "La Machete", fait partie de la génération montante à Lima, assurant la relève chez les auteurs compositeurs et interprètes de musique afro latino contemporaine. A mi-chemin entre Susana Baca et Novalima, elle nous offre un regard vivant et actuel des rythmes de la Côte Pacifique où elle a grandi, facette musicale du Pérou encore si méconnue... Polyrythmie et entrechocs de mélodies où l'on entend résonner les voix des peuples frères d'histoire et de musique. Dans ses textes, des histoires fantastiques ou banales deviennent prétextes à la réflexion sur le quotidien et l'inattendu d'ici ou d'ailleurs: lucidité mêlée de fantaisie et d'une dérision sans complaisance...
