Three year old video? What is RUclips doing with search suggestions? Clearly that is a problem, but here we go... Ride and feel you think of with a Harley Davidson? Not. Definitely not. No knowledgeable and experienced rider would say that unless they stood to make money and they had poor integrity. The difference is the reliability? After 44 years riding, and owning, many bikes, I have to strenuously disagree with such biased and subjective assessments. Most Harley Davidsons are not "cruisers". The Sportster, for example, their all time best selling model is a standard, yet most often misidentified as a "cruiser". If someone is in the market and such things as are expressed in this video factors, do not buy a Harley Davidson. Yes, you can pick up a VTX used for less than a Harley. That means they do not have value retention. That big inch bike sells for 883 Sportster prices. Apples and oranges. Yet, for some people, that can't have a conversation without mentioning Harley. That, in itself, speaks volumes. Frankly, it's astonishing how many critical differences were missed when comparing these two bikes. Half of the considerations were the accessories. Reliable? Over-engineered? Until you find out about things like the starter solenoid wiring. My bikes are 1975, 1982, 1986, 1987, and 2007. The odd of those Hondas being on the road decades later are simply very low compared to a Harley. And the support to keep them on the road is dismal compared to a Harley as far as parts. Frankly, they will most likely be landfill or recycled metals when the Harley is still on the road. That is BY FAR true. The VTX are great bikes, no doubt. I have often recommended them myself. But frankly, they cannot be compared to Harley Davidsons at all in any realistic sense. It gets tiring hearing that "my VTX sounds like a Harley" with aftermarket pipes. No, it does not. It does not ride like one, it does not sound like one, it does not have the inherent value of one, and it does not have the value retention of one. I have two Hondas, Two Harley Davidsons, a Yamaha, and Triumph. My oldest, a 1975, is a Hondas. There is simply no comparison between any of them and the Harleys. And I have had liter class sport bikes and everything else you can imagine. Again, no comparison. If I had to live with just one of my bikes for the rest of my life it would definitely be one of the Harleys. No hesitation. And I have zero brand loyalty, that has nothing to do with it.

I bought a 95 gl1500 in 2020 with 149000 miles on it.two weeks later did a 3000 mile trip. Only problems was dirty fuel filter and turn signal problems. Now im rebuilding a 1984 yamaha venture royale 1200. We shall see

I have a 1997 Royal Star tour deluxe, bought it 10 yrs ago, it has leather saddles and trim pkg. paid $2400 fo it with 26000 miles...love this bike, though most of my friends own H.D.'s ....

Interesting, found this video. I have a 2011 Spyder RS SM5 in yellow/black, and totally enjoy riding it. What have I done to it - BajaRon sway bar and links (change out the factory plastic for metal ones), front suspension bushes, new EBC brake pads, remove airbox for a slimmer 'pancake' filter, twin outlet exhaust (my own design). I bought it looking rather sad at 70,000km so it's had a full rejuvenation and rebirth. And lives in New Zealand.

I've had a couple bikes as well, sport and cruisers. My last 2 bikes were HD and i just happen across this bike and after reading and RUclips research I'm definitely thinking about getting one. HD are a lot of maintenance and the 1800 seems like a great cruiser bike for big rides like i enjoy.

Been riding a Honda since 1988, 1988 Hurricane 600, then 05 CBR600 RR, Never any problems with either bike and I ride like I stole it just about every time I ride, 55k on the CBR. I purchased a used 08FXDL (Dyna Low Rider) Love the Harley, but I've had it 6 months, first rear break caliper froze up, I fixed that, then rear wheel bearings went bad, fixed that, now electrical problems with the Voltage regulator. I work on my Harley as much as I ride it. It has a rock solid engine but everything around the engine is made of cheap chinese sensors and switches, causing one to pretty much rebuild the entire bike with quality American made products. I'm fixing the Harley again then I'm selling it, I'm a rider not a mechanic.

Good job I've got the same and I'm going to do the same. This should have actually been a recall type deal but you know how they are nowadays

I was told by my son in law who had a bike shop with his daddy that the 1300 honda is a better bike than the 1800. I forgot why but I just bought a 07 1300R with 2,700 miles on it.

I totally liked that the trial trip was filmed with a following vehicle and not helmet cams/body cams. It gives a much better perspective on how both bikes look when being ridden on the road.

I had a 1300 and it was a nice bike. I now own a Fatboy and MUCH prefer it; fit, finish, and quality is much better on the Harley.

I have a 2008 vulcan nomad 1600. Is the vtx 1800 a very big upgrade if I get it or is it going to be very similar with marginal differences and not worth the flip?

I’m 5”5 just rode a 1989 Honda Goldwing runs like a Cadillac but I was scared is a huge bike and I tiptoe so I was prettify is heavy but so smooth and I used to have a 2005 Yamaha Royal star deluxe tour and it was so heavy too but awesome suspension and so comfortable. I have a 2023 Honda Rebel 1100 DCT

Capable of a million according to Honda, and of course they are. Most riders won't do that much, but number of miles is never important except in your journey. Nice Bike.

I am a retired sales manager of Yamaha -Kawasaki-Honda dealership.i would rather keep my Kawasaki ZX14R and drive my miata rather than buy a big old touring bike.But that's just me.They are great bikes just not my preference.

On the 1300 on the back of it is that a secondary fuel tank if so is it connected to the primary tank to feed it as you go or is it there to pour more fuel into the primary tank once you get low. If that is a rear-mounted secondary tank and it is in line connected to the primary can we get a video on it thanks I appreciate it great videos

In Denmark you can ony get the 125cc too. And you must have a motorbike licens.

You missed the biggest difference, the 13 is a single pin crank and sounds like a Harley the 18 has the twin pin and sounds mediocre in comparison

The days of cheap gas are over with and there not coming back to look for anybody.

Just about any motorcycle is a good choice especially since California gas has come to Colorado.😅
