Something I’ve noticed driving in Finland is that drivers rarely keep their distance. Personally I’m quite pathological about the 2 second rule but in Finland it seems you’re not driving properly if you can still see the bottom of the bumper of the car in front of you. I don’t know where this driving style is learned; my wife did her lessons and test here and she never drives like this but for me it’s a constant occurrence. Hopefully you guys and the other drivers/passengers are okay.

Tallinn indeed will have lots of Finnish bars and influence in general because it has always been like the number one weekend getaway for Finns. The main attraction being the cheap alcohol You can even get service in Finnish in many places

Yes, you don’t have access to your car during the cruise except 15min before the arrival. However in Tallink MegaStar and MyStar you can reserve a spot in a different place that’s next to Duty Free store. There you have access to your car for the whole trip. Idea is that you can bring your shoppings straight to your car. Other Cruise Lines don’t have that. At the early 90’s you had access to the car deck for the whole trip, but they got rid of it because of safety, anti-burglary or some other reason.

You should know that Swedish has a couple of one letter words: å=river and ö=island. And you met the first one twice in names of places: Umeå and Åbo the Swedish name of Turku. 👌 For pronunciation å is also called Swedish o and ö is the same as German o umlaut like the vowel in girl.🤔✌️

Travelling must be quite hard with someone always complaining. If you can not find a place to wash your hair In Helsinki city center...public Saunas, Swimming pools and tons of public toilets which you pay like €1 and it is totally yours...but glad you liked Helsinki.

Oh pity, you probably considered the old historic swimming pool in the city center, but there a several other public pools, that don't have separate days for men/women. Yeah Helsinki/Helsingfors has two official names, even the streets have names both in Finnish and Swedish. On the street signs the Finnish one is above and the Swedish below it, visitors can find it confusing sometimes :)

"Unique architecture". Well if you like commie blocks. A lot of good looking buildings were destroyed in the war and then in the 60s/70s a lot of them were demolished to build commie blocks instead. Alvar Aalto is one of the biggest criminals in Finnish history. Search for Huber or Höijer Helsinki and you'll see two examples of beautiful buildings demolished for no reason just to satisfy some selfish architect's ego who wanted some crappy concrete block instead.

Ok, I listened more carefully you saying "home of Nokia phone". Home of Nokia, the company is different from the mobile phone product line. There are other Nokia sites in Oulu and Salo, which might have had more relevant roles in the early stages. But Nokia had and has presence also in Tampere and important development activities there.
