What software did you use for the first one?
The first one (and most of the others) was made in Logic. Pretty sure this track uses the Sample Alchemy built-in instrument with some step fx (another built-in device) for the opening pad. Also there are some MIDI LFOs on the drums for the glitchy sounds.

Any chance you can do a video of how you set all this up bro? I can get mine working but I want midi I write to trigger the synth and record over it into audio etc or have notes on loop in midi during a live performance, any idea how to go around this?

Wow, sounds excellent! I’m about to sell off most of my hardware and have been diving into VCV rack as a fun playground to get outside of Ableton and this is inspiring.
Thank you. Yeah it is good. I've also sold quite a bit of hardware lately - I just find I make more music messing around on the laptop.
@@polyluxsystems yeah I think I’m coming to the same realization. I love hardware and it’s very fun, but I think I actually make more music and end up with better ideas without all the hassle of most hardware. I think I’m going to keep a guitar, midi controller, and monitors as well as some quirky speakers I like to reamp through and that’s about it. Hoping the sudden minimalism will lead to a lot of good ideas.

Struggling to find some of the mods on VCV 2, are they from a different source? In particular it’s the permutation and kick/rim/ride modules, don’t seem to exist in my library choice
nevermind, found the drum kit stuff behind a pay wall, which i reckon is prob worth it
@@vicmcquire9077 yeah they're good. DK (I think) has some free drum modules that would get you at leadt halfway there too. And Befaco Kickall is a good free kick.

Hi, very cool sounds! How were you able to use just the USB cable to your CPU to record/transmit audio, and not an audio interface (I don't see any jacks coming out of your S-1)? I can only record and hear audio if I use my interface and External Instrument in Ableton.
The S1 can transmit audio and MIDI over USB-C. It shows up as an available audio interface in Ableton.
Thanks@@polyluxsystems. I just got a brand new USB-C cable and connected it to my cpu and chose S1 as the Audio Input Device in Ableton. MIDI data is definitely being transmitted, but I can't hear any audio from my CPU speakers, despite choosing such as my Audio Output Device. S1 is selected as MIDI From and MIDI To in the MIDI track. Any advice?

That's weird. What is your audio output set to? It might be that the audio out is also the S1 and so there'd be nothing coming out your speakers?
@@polyluxsystems thanks for your help and sorry for delay. my audio out is set to MacBook Pro speakers (i've also tried it with my audio interface as Audio out) and neither config produces sound. But I can see my Ableton track is receiving MIDI data whenever I press a key on the S1....?
