Is this model number: 931899?
Very helpful thank you!!
So what’s the gap
@@okigator1579 .75mm or .030 in
Hi know the part number for the bolts? mine fell out and got lost
4226 641 6500
Thanks for the help brother.
Perfect video bro. Thank you for the knowledge!
If the grease has no where to go why does it need greasing so often? Can you pysically see the grease leaking out?
It doesn’t leak out. It’s more of a deterioration of grease. After a while the grease will no longer become effective as new grease. People take them apart sometimes to wipe away the old grease.
Not all sthil weed eaters have that bolt on it
Great video ! Thanks ! I went to change the oil on mine and wow it's hard to get that hose down there without kicking it. That whole black piece on mine was loose , so I just spun it the other way facing the back and tightened it up. Putting the hose that way was easier. Anyone see why that would be a problem?
What size is the drain hose
1/2 inch inside diameter or 3/4 outside
It's a pre filter. Don't oil them if there is a paper filter under it. An old sock cut to size will do a great job as well. Fuel filter size is irrelevant if you are servicing to schedule. My mower has 1800 hrs. Look after it, and it will serve you well.
I put about 200 hours on it and it started having serious problems. This a residential zero turn it would never last over 1,000 hours. However, my exmark radius should have way more than 1,000 hours on it.
Just remove the plug, drill and tap it, insert a grease nipple and pump a small amount of lithium grease occasionally. Stihl are cashing in on mechanical naivety. Never had a problem, ever.
This is Stihl profiteering at it’s very best. Take out the plugs, drill and tap, insert a grease nipple and occasionally a small amount of correct specification grease in there. Non of that fussing about with tubes. It is a mechanical object, it requires grease, one squirt and get back to work. Been using garden tools for over 50 years, maintenance is important, make it easy.
Thank you!!!! Just what this yard gal needed!!!
Did the rear tire come on there or did you do a upgrade?
It came like that!
Awesome video. Been looking for something on this exact process. Thanks!
$7? It's $14 on Amazon....talk about greed.
Yes, you have to really watch it with Amazon. Sometimes people sell things way above market value and you’ll have no idea.
Oops,never have greased my sthil.10 years gone,didnt know,tomorow i grease it.thx 4 video.
Great video 👍
what’s model Stihl we’re you greasing?
FS94R weed eater
All i needed to know thank u
Great video. Thank you, you saved me a lot of time.
Just put an alamite in it and use a grease gun
Thanks - great video ...!
Opened mine before and there's a few ball bearings lol I got sloppy and didn't grease for ages Greased up now do you think it will last long with the few ball bearings loose ? How often do you grease your gearbox
every 10 hrs of use
I just purchased this exact model and was hoping to find a video explaining the process. Thank you so much for a very informative and easy to follow video.
You mentioned that you were looking to get 300hrs out of the Zeroturn? And then what…? Are you saying that you think it might not last more than 300hrs or are you saying that you will just service it again at 300hrs?
The mower is rated for like 300 hours before major repairs. It is a Kawasaki but it is not a commercial engine. The engine on it is a residential engine so it doesn't have the durability of a commercial engine.
The FR series is indeed a commercial grade engine. Shares many of the same components and parts as does the FS and FX series minus the heavy duty air filtration. It is built for the residential and light duty commercial use. With proper maintenance, it should last a few thousand hours. Keeping the valve lash set properly every 3-400 hours and the cooling areas clean of major debris along with quality oil changes/products should net you good, long life. I'm breaking in my first FR series now myself.
It’s a sponge around the air filter. . I put a bit of oil on my hands and rub it into that sponge so it catches the fine dust.
Thanks. I just bought a stihl hl94.
Congrats
Great vid
Great job explaining the process
Very informative
I quite using the Stihl trimmer line the same week that I first bought it. EVERY time I touched the fence with the line it broke off inside the hub. Thus I was spending HOURS opening and re-opening the hub to reset the line. After that first day I went out and bought the tri-blade and have never looked back though I have to replace the tri-blade every other year because it wears down on the concrete walls.
You put the string on wrong. I have been using it for 25 years. Once it was old line I had to soak in water to fix and the other I strung it wrong
@@jc8437 Thanks J C. I followed the instruction sheet (rare for men, eh?). Maybe their sheet was wrong. Or maybe the string that I was getting was sub-standard.
I think the flat rectangular blade unsharpened is the best 90% of the time for heavy duty work. If u sharpen it, it will kick rocks back up at you despite the logic of sharpening. I used to weedeat 8 hrs a day for a contractor. If your doing detailed areas with many obsticals, string is best.
Although it's a little video, it's very informative ❤️👍👍
You just reminded me, I got to do this greasing to my Hitachi trimmer. Thanks a lot!
Thanks for the video, never would thought it would not have a drain plug. Ready to do my first oil change and this helps!
Nice job ,,, Thanks for Sharing
I always wondered what that hole on my weed eater was for!
Thanks for sharing
Excellent
I grease mine once a season it always has plenty in at end .I mow grass for a job .
Thank you!
Thank you for the info 😊
How do you know when u reach 100 hrs.
I installed a after market hour meter when I first purchased the zero turn. It’s really simple to do it’s already wired for one. They are like $15!
I use a zerk fitting with1/8"pipe thread turned in a couple threads and a squirt from my grease gun.
I use a 20cc medical syringe packed with grease.
Very helpful, thank you.
The manual is very clear about not adding too much grease. Leave some air space in there, too.
Ge
I just pour gear oil in there ,,, never had any bother in thirty years doing it that way , it would be a snowy day in hell before I would pay that price for grease , its really only a bevel gear set in there so oil to me seems like a far better option , as long as its got something in .
Do you think outboard lower gear oil would be ok? (SAE 90)
@@mattwaters6987 anything's better than nothing ... yep it will be grand it's what ep is designed for
The newer commercial trimmers are ungreasable.
Interetsing I wonder why
My new Stihl FS131 has the screw on the head to grease it
The cheaper ones are throwaway trimmers. Stihl's mid- to upper-end trimmers are still made to be greased.
I have never greased a weed eater in 25 years but I did burn out a few clutches
