SEVENTOUR P48E DSP UNBOXING Video
Просмотров 740Месяц назад
In this relatively short video, I perform an unboxing, in an effort to try and provide people with a bit more information on the SEVENTOUR P48E DSP, which I recently purchased after completing an all aftermarket, all active car audio build, in order to check it out, and give it a try. This is one of, if not even, possibly the only DSP available for less than $300 to $500 or more, that actually ...

These speakers sound AWESOME, and I am not at all kidding! I took a chance on these, because I had already previously purchased a P48E DSP made by SEVENTOUR, and it works so well, and I have been so pleased with it, that I was more than willing to take the chance on the speakers. I purchased the M20 6.5 inch 2-way component speakers (for my front stage), and the M11 6.5 inch 2-way coaxial speakers (for my rears). and BOTH sets of speakers are FAR superior to anything that I could think of anywhere close to the price-point, aside from maybe the Alpine S2 S65c components and S2 S65 coaxials, with their new Hi-Res certified thing going on. The new Alpines definitely sound superior to the previous generations (the bass response is about the same... which is about as great as you can expect from a 6.5 inch driver installed into a sound treated door with speed rings), but only in a sense of detail/SQ. As far as everything else is concerned, they are right about on par with previous generations. I personally had just had JBL's Stadium Series GTO 609c 6.5 inch 2-way component speakers, and GTO629 6.5 inch 2-way coaxial speakers installed originally in my most recent all-active build in my Jeep Grand Cherokee, and was NONE to impressed in the least with the sound I achieved using my always personal favorite (in the past) brand of speakers period. Throw in the fact that my entire left side burned up and stopped working (w/ the GTO609c set I had in the front) within the first three weeks I began sporting the sytem... And then, to add insult to injury, Harman would not approve my warranty claim (claiming that they "no longer warranty their car audio products", and that if a warranty issue arises with any car audio product "customers typically rely upon the seller they purchased the speakers from in order to receive warranty service".) on the brand new, bricked speakers... Well, needless to say, I have boycotted JBL speakers from here on out, and they will never receive another dime of my money - car audio or otherwise. Well, seeing as I had just purchased an entire builds worth of products for my Jeep, I didn't necessarily have a great deal of money to blow on replacements, and so I was looking around at different options, and just about to bite the bullet and purchase the Alpine S2 components and coaxials, when I came across these speakers by SEVENTOUR, and for me, it was a no-brainer! I was willing to take a chance, and wound up being absolutely pleased that I did, without a doubt! These speakers (both the M20s and the M11s) are GREAT speakers for the price, but after hearing them in my Jeep, I would easily pay quite a bit more for them, if I find myself needing to replace them for any reason in the future. No BS. Now, I will not say that they are better than Alpine's S2s, but, they are easily better than anything else I have tried between $75 and $150, and really, quite a few speaker types I know of which cost even more than that, if I were to be even more specific. They have great sound quality (they don't have the high frequency range of the Alpine S2s - because they are not Hi-Res certified - so they are not quite that detailed, but nevertheless, the SQ with these speakers is phenomenal, and that is putting it mildly, considering the price tag on these things at the end of the day. The other thing that a great deal of individuals are interested to know about, is how do they handle the low-end frequencies (the bass)?? Well, I've got three amps powering my speakers, tweeters, and subwoofers, so I've got mine crossed over at 120Hz... But down to that, they are spectacular, and I mean it! With the JBL GTO609c, the lows in the doors never stood out beyond the subs in the back (even after tuning DSP right), AND the higher midrange was, I guess "muddy" might be an adequate term. IDK, it just seemed like the upper midrange was always lost with the JBLs in there. But as soon as I put these speakers in my Jeep, even before they even began to be properly broken in, I IMMEDIATELY noticed a massive difference in both of those parts of the puzzle which had been missing, or just, too far in the background to sound good previously! Now, there absolutely is bass/mid-bass obviously being output by all four of my door speakers! And, the midrange (which is sortof what the 6.5s are designed to do) is awesome! I could not be more pleased. And that is no "just for the price" type of statement there. No, I mean I am pleased across the board, and I no longer listen to my new build in my Jeep and wonder constantly what I need to do to fix what's missing, but now, I am indefinitely pleased, all together with the sound of my system as a whole! And same goes for the coaxials in the rear too. They have the very same characteristics as the 6.5 inch components, only the components simply have the advantage of the separate tweeters, AND the included tweeter PODS which are included with the M20 component speakers by SEVENTOUR! The PODS provide installers with the opportunity to install the tweeters in such a way as would direct them as directly toward the listening position(s) as is possible, and there is no understating the HUGE advantage that this capability provides to this set of speakers. But that isn't it either... Because, the tweeters which they include with the components are already great little tweeters, that sound killer to begin with! The PODS just provide the ability to get them aimed in the direction which is most beneficial in terms of creating the very best sound stage that is possible! (You've got to think... There IS a very good reason why folks are willing to get on Amazon and Ebay, and other sites, and spend $55 and up, for pairs of plastic tweeter PODS)

No doubt. I got you covered. I'm preparing to start work on the install video today. I will also have more un-boxing content droppin' over the next few days. Two more SEVENTOUR products actually. Seeing as this P48E DSP has turned out to be such a diamond in the rough, I decided to purchase a 6.5 inch 'M11' 2-way component speaker set (w/ 1" soft dome tweeters, which include tweeter PODS, at zero additional cost) for the front, and a matching 'M10' 2-way coaxial speaker set for the rear, in order to take them through their paces, and see how well they stack up to the competition. (In my case, that competition would be the JBL GTO609c component speaker set, and the JBL GTO629 coaxial speaker set, which BOTH turned out to be the most disappointing JBL products I've ever purchased) I imagine the SEVENTOUR speakers will absolutely sound superior to the GTO series JBLs that they are replacing... The question is... HOW MUCH better?!
