The metal band is actually the metal band from the whiskey barrel. I cut it and put it on there for decoration. However, I am also able to use my laser to add names or a personalized inscription on it. Works great.

It would, but you will be paying a lot more for epoxy. Poly is cheaper and not a lot of waste since you don't have to worry about mixing it and using it before it hardens.

Thankyou! I purchased a bunch of wine barrel heads/staves/rings looking to make some pieces out of but yea sucks up epoxy like crazy. Will try poly and maybe get some whiskey barrel pieces for some aroma. I was surprised/kindve disappointed wine barrel pieces have no smell at all. Great Channel. @thatshowwedoit6201

I haven't really paid attention to the thickens of the stave when making these. I look at how wide they are. But when checking they ranged from 1/2" to 1" thick.

Glad I could help. I'm not sure if mine was the motherboard, power supply or laser. My laser would run, just like it was doing a project, but the laser bean itself would turn on and off while the machine was moving. When it started it was only here and there, but as time went on, it was every few seconds. Contact support and they sent me all 3 to replace. Haven't had an issue since.

I haven't had any problems with mine. I have drilled a little aggressively on some hard woods before and it has stopped spinning, but I just turn it off, raise up some and turn it back on and go a little slower, that always solves the problem. But no spindle chatter. I wonder if your spindle isn't seated all the way in, maybe give it another tap or two and see if that fixes it. Or you got a lemon and am exchange will work nicely for you. Sorry to hear you are having problems.

If it is what I think you are referring to, it helps hold the rack for the crank in place (the thing that cranks the table up and down).

The orange collar holds the track for the crank that moves the table up and down.

I left it on, I don't power it.

True, but you can't get that nice whisky smell from the wine barrels.

I contacted Xtool support and they sent me one. I messaged Cecilia Fang on Facebook. I found her on the Xtool FB page. She works with Xtool Customer Service. I emailed them too, but never heard anything back. Cecilia responded pretty fast and sent me what I needed.

I have used an angle grinder before, you have to be very careful not to over do it or it will really mark up the staves. I haven't had that problem with the drill brush and it takes about the same time. I think a stripper would be best, but I can't justify the cost to just use it on these. Maybe if I was refinishing furniture.

Thanks. Yes, it helped me free up some storage space. It is there when I need to use it but out of the way when I don't and I can still use the space as a table top. i usually just put a piece of cardboard over it and work on top of that.

That's ok. I don't mind teaching others what I have learned. If I'm the only one who knows, then it dies with me. This way, hopefully what I know can help others and will live on long after I am gone.

Not 'everyone' will make it. Not everyone has the tools or inclination. Some people like to see it made & then buy it. 😊

Thats not good. I had a 20W that just stopped working, it moved just fine, the laser just stopped firing at random times during my projects. It took me a few projects to figure out what was going on. I was thinking my file or settings were messed up since my project had stuff done on it, but things were missing in certain areas.

@@thatshowwedoit6201 That stinks man. Waiting for the other 40W to arrive from amazon today. Hopefully I get a good one. I have read many posts about peoples boards dying or DOA right from the box. Not feeling very confident with this POS Laser.

Definitely not a must have. Everything will operate fine without a drag chain, however, sometimes your wires may get caught here and there and if it happens during a project, it will obivisiouly ruin your project because a caught wire will prevent the laser moving freely and properly. This is an easy upgrade you can add when you are ready. I also just worked out a deal with AlivePixel to get my views a 15% discount when they use the code HowWeDoIt. So if you are looking and choose products from Alive Pixel, save some money.
