0:29 was really nice, good continuity. Although the video makes it seem that you are standing very close to each other
Thank you. Yeah I've been experimenting with how and where to place the camera. This is an ultra wide action Cam that was set up high and pointing down so the perspective is weird
Why did you stick the sword into the ground? Bad action!
Ha, I once left it stuck in the ground for a week and had to spend a few hours sanding out the rust. 😔
Really like these daily videos. Very motivating and really fun to see how other folks train.
Thank you, I appreciate the kind words. I'm hoping by chronicling my daily practice, it can be motivational for up and coming historical fencers.
@OneHewMan i think it's a great move thanks for doing it.
I really like the gather to the changing step. i think it takes advantage of the drop and widen you get form that step. Its also harder than i expected to be ready to jump immediately off the landing, great training of having my feet set. thanks for sharing your training.
Isn't the first jump unnecessary or more of a body faint to draw a reaction? I would do jump --> changing step as a default and if the opponent is ready for it and for instance wants to attack in your prep jump, you do the jump in place, followed up by jump --> changing step
The initial jump can definitely be used as a faint. But it is however not only necessary, but I've found through more experimentation that the higher I can make the initial jump, the farther and more explosive I can make the changing-step.
Yeahhhh man, definitely need more sparring videos!
I'll post more sparring for sure. I'm still working on methods to make them more entertaining and easy to follow for most people.
You’re videos r very unique, introspective and interesting to watch. I feel like I’m watching a sports anime as u train and practice your moves 😂. I do this exact same stuff too and it’s great to see that there r other people into the same stuff as me. Definitely rooting for u, man!
That's awesome to hear. There's dozens of people like us. DOZENS!
Absolutely love the vlogging of experimenting with ideas. Would love to share some ideas on this. Thanks for the motivation
Oh hell yeah. I'd love to hear any thoughts you have on footwork seeing as how you have some of the coolest looking footwork in longsword sparring right now.
wait, I've been doing HEMA in shoes this whole time, and clearly it's the wrong way to do it! Great fencing vid :)
Barefoot HEMA, unite!
Super interesting stuff! I'm curios though, why aren't you always down in a wide stance with the weight of the balls of your feet, so that you can make that acceleration without dropping down first?
If I start wide, it makes it much harder to do the initial jump. I've found through more experimentation that the higher I can make the initial jump, the farther I can explode forwards or backwards.
@@OneHewMan A right, so it's kinda like how basketball players take that last low step to redirect all their energy upwards
Oh that's very interesting. I don't know anything about basketball so I need to look into that. Perhaps that's another thing I can apply.
Well thought and articulated. Thank you for sharing and inspiring me to act on the similar thought I've had for years
Thank you for your kind words.
Very good! Subsribed.
I like your videos, man.
Thanks man. I appreciate that.
It is very interesting! I decided subscribe. Greetings from Poland
Good work!
Thanks. Glad you're enjoying the vids. I've got more to come. Let me know if there's anything you want me to elaborate on.
Excellent!
thank you!
To further clarify on the Meyer figures. The right foot forward number also accounted for left handed fencers who were left foot forward. And vice versa. Interestingly, I counted 6 figures that were left handed. Just a cool little anecdote.
This is super sweet man! I'm excited to see how you go this year 😁
aha it appears my ipad is not powerful enough for this
What was white's plan with the final advance?
Right fencers final advance with an extension of their sword to cover left's sword. Had left fencer not wind strongly, then right would have landed their thrust. But since left wind strongly, right fencer attempted to weaken to cut around but left fencer was able to catch them inside that action (what we would call an Indes action).
Thanks. Yeah I thought maybe the sword could just be hit out of the way with leverage not in your favor. But when done at the right time they don't seem to have time to react or counter attack. 🤔
I don't know anything about sword fighting technique. But are you sure this is right? It just looks wrong or impractical. But I don't know. 🤔
Hey, thanks for asking! You inspired me to make this video as a follow up. I hope it sparks your curiosity. ruclips.net/user/shortsRK_cRk_X3Ps?si=AsU26yol_KUBUaZK
This is completely sound technique here. There is no faster way to stick a sword in your sparring partner.
Thank you
Thank you!
When you export it scales it back down to 2048 😅
make sure you drag and drop the entire folder for the last step. if you import the obj from that folder, it won’t work. thanks!
Hey could you explain a little bit more I think I’m missing something here
I wouldn’t say that I fixed healing, but I did modify one popular patch for healing potions. Under this homebrew rule, you can choose to administer a healing potion as an action, or as a bonus action. If you use one as an action, you consume the whole thing and get maximum healing, leaving behind an empty bottle. If you use a bonus action instead, you roll for healing as normal, heal for the amount rolled, and deduct the results from the potion’s remaining reserves, represented by the maximum value of the potion’s dice formula. This way, a standard healing potion purchased from a shop will always consistently heal for 10 HP, and if you only heal as a bonus action, you can use a healing potion more than once, as long as there’s still remaining potion left over. Lastly, if you want to be a little cheeky as a DM, any potions your players find in dungeons might be only partially filled.
Worked perfectly. Thanks
Thank you!!!
The Star of David was not used in Judaism until the 4th century BCE, Imhotep wouldn't have recognised it as belonging to Hebrews. Good film tho
He didn't recognize the symbol he recognized the language
Movie: The Mummy 1999
You are a lifesaver!
This saved my life. Thank you
Thanks for the tip. I really struggled when i try to find the way. :)
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
Genious!
Worked!
Smart thinkin! I hope they integrate the canvas resize option for 3d objects
how did you get the file? i usually only get a obj file
oh ok the file is from when you export from procreate
this is great thank you!
When i drag and drop the folder into procreate, it is stuck on the empty circle dialog, any idea why folder won't import?
Make sure the model is an OBJ file format. And try restarting your iPad as well.
@@OneHewMan Same problem here... It worked first time with one object. When I tried the same with another, it just stuck while importing the object. I must say the second object is way more complicated than the first one. Dont know if it makes any diferent...
And of course I tried to restart and object is an OBJ file.
Same here, stuck on importing circle
yeah I have the same issue. Has anyone found a fix by chance?
